I've been reading this story from the very beginning last Thanksgiving (or thereabouts), and I've laughed and cried with you and celebrated your accomplishments and prayed for those who needed it...
Read your later post and thanks for all the background... I know its hard when you are new and don't know everyone elses background. But its great that you have been reading around for a while. So glad you joined and are at your goal weight... I know I will need some help with maitenance but one step at a time for me- I need to lose it first! ;)

i think dene already answered this, but SSR is saratoga springs resort. it's across the lake from DTD. it's very pretty and i can't wait to stay there! it's a DVC resort and usually costs around $300/night to stay there, but we rented points from a DVC member (who everyone here knows......she rocks the house!) and got it for a much better price than that. i'm excited because, number one, you can walk to DTD from there, which in and of itself is convenient, but also there's the added transportation bonus of getting from resort to resort. for instance, if you want to get to the poly from SSR, you just walk to DTD and then take a bus directly to the poly. secondly, it's apparently known for being very peaceful, sort of a getaway from the parks. i think it'd be great for you and your DBF (or eventually DH!) before you guys have kids.....or even after!

about september, yes, that's the girls trip in the countdown in my siggie. we're only staying for 3 nights, but i'm excited because i get a little taste of disney before our trip in april! we are staying FOR FREE with eventer at OKW!!! how could i pass that up? i'll probably do a very short TR on it and if so i'll link it in my siggie.

oh, i got this e-mail from jon (my sister's ex) this morning:

Dawn hope you're birthday went well, I realize I'm sightly late with the happy birthday wishes, but it is because I believe your birthdy should be a two day affair. So happy birthday hope you had fun and got cool things
-Jon

very sweet of him to send. he sent it last night around 1:00 a.m. still doesn't mean they're back together......i think he's trying to get brownie points!!!

Wow! Saratoga Springs sounds great... I google imaged it after Dene told me what it was and its gorgeous! You guys will have a great time! I def want to return at least 1-2 more times and go to DisneyLand before I have kids. But I am only 24 and don't know if I want kids at all... so I am thinking I have until at least 30 to get that all in! lol! But, step one- get engaged and married! :lmao:
Also, thats awesome about the mini-trip! I love reading TRs so I will def check yours out when you come back!
AND, I think you were right about your sister's ex- a little sweet mixed with suck up. lol. Sometimes people just can't get enough of eachother whether they are in good times are bad.

Ok, so I have a few wedding photos from my sisters wedding...not the good ones I was attempting to share a few days ago, but still some Ok shots.

First some before/after shots. Here is a before shot of me from Christmas this year. I am sitting, but you still get the idea....25 pounds heavier:

Here is my in the BM dress, when it came in-March/April I think?

And after, me at the wedding.....sorry for the goofy face. My aunt took this one and she was making me laugh-
You really can seee a difference AND that red is a great color on you!!! :)

I saw it briefly yesterday on our local news, here is a link to the story i just found!!

 I can't believe that! I just read it and its incredible the anger some people have all bottled up!

Hi Peeps!
On to more selfish matters. The boy is annoying me. Things have been very business as usual. No secret flirting, no secret smiles. Well maybe a few, but nothing that I deemed significant. I know he has been really busy this week, but I just want to know if he wants to see me again. On a date, not at the clinic. And everyone is telling me to avoid him and play hard to get. Well I understand that. Guys like a challenge, blah, blah. BUT I definitely have not been doing that. And I can't avoid him altogether because I truly have needed to do work at the clinic and usually it involves me laminating or using a program that is only on the computers in his "office". So avoidance isn't really an option. And he mentioned so many times that he really likes an assertive woman who would ask a guy out. Is that his hint that I have to keep asking him out? I don't really want to do that all the time. Ugh. Boys are frustrating.

At least tomorrow is Friday! Yay!
I agree with the group- ask him out this time, and then you tell him the ball is in his court next round. Also, saw Harry Potter yesterday and thought of you and your date.

Alright yall... look at the size of my belly.

Need to lose some weight? ;)
Very cute! Prego bellies are sooo cute! :goodvibes

Thanks for introducing yourself!! What a great post!

Dance aerobics sounds super fun. My gym doesn't have classes, I wish they did... I am stuck on the stupid elliptical trainer. I wish I could work in more hockey but it is $$ and the times tend to be inconvenient (mostly after 9PM).

I am active I guess, but I have been finding myself doing really well on 1200 calories. I do cheat occasionally, averaging about once every 2 weeks, and I am sure that an extra 100 cals or so sneaks in there (a ff pringle here, a peanut there) which is why I try to keep it low. Some days I have to force myself to get all my calories in, actually. And it seems the more I exercise, the less hungry I am? :confused3 However, I am still quite overweight, so maybe my body is happy eating away at all the excess.

I did find that when I exercise regularly, I can maintain well with a watch what I eat on weekdays, indulge on weekends. But once I stop, man, the lbs pile on QUICK.

Oh, I did something healthy... My lazy butt made it to the GYM after work! I did 30 min on the elliptical, 60 crunches on the ball, and a weight circuit. And I didn't leave work until 7:30! My apple jacks snack made it a loooong way.

Wow! Thats great how you are doing with the cals.... I am going for a daily amount of 1500 but sometimes I do not use them wisely and find myself sooo hungry at bedtime, resisting food. Also, I hope I can get on track as you have with the gym! After a full day and not getting out until 7:30?! I will have to buy me some apple jacks! :rotfl2:

Good morning everyone!

i am down a measly .2

oh well..its down right! And i was all nervous at weigh after last weeks birthday cake extravaganza..so i will take it! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the sweet feedback on my siggie pic. I am so excited to be able to share pics now! have a great day everyone!!

So I leave for WDW Sunday...
   :cheer2: :cheer2: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :cheer2: :cheer2:
....but I am a SAMER for the 3rd week in a row!
My DBF and I are determined to make our vacation, DDP and all a healthy one where we burn more than we consume but I am going to step things up when we return anyhow! I will let you know how I do with the pedometer too... if I remember to use it! lol! :rotfl:
Anyways, I am in the "lists" mode of packing- everywhere I have listed something and my mom has got me all nervous our luggage is going to get lost! I have printed my Jet Blue Costumer Bill of Rights with all the proper phone numbers on it and made lists of everything I am putting in both suitcases, just in case. lol.
I will be behind on my DISing after over a week away SO :grouphug: and :wizard: to all those who may need so hugs or pixie dust this coming week! Wonders, I will be excited to read a 2nd date TR and I know one is in the making so put it in bold or something so I can read it easy when I get back! popcorn::
And Happy Birthday, Anniversary and all that jazz to the rest of the crew! :thumbsup2
K... I should be around to peep around today so thats enough for now!

Mornin' Everyone!

Today was my weigh day, and I woke up with a visit from AF!!! Oh no!! Well, i stepped on the scale anyway, and found that I was down 4 pounds!! Last week, i had gained 3 pounds, so I pretty much lost what I had gained plus a little extra!!

With each passing day, i'm just a little closer to Disney, and I have 2 medium sized mickey "girly" shirts, I hope will fit!!

Thanks guys, have a great day!

I'll agree with Dance on this one -- guys don't like games. Well, at least I know I don't. So my advice is to ask him out again. There's a good chance that he is just shy, and might be afraid that you didn't have a good time on your first date and is afraid of you rejecting him. I know that's the way I felt when I first started dating my wife. But maybe towards the end of the 2nd date, you half jokingly say something like "I think it is only fair that since I've asked you out twice, that you do the asking next time", but in a light-hearted tone of voice. This would not only show that you are interested in him, but that you want him to take the initiative next time.

So, anyway, here's a little bit about me, just to be fair:

I'm 39 years old, married for 16 years now to a saint (or so he tells me), and we have an 11 year old daughter. God help us all.....she's going to be a teenager soon, got the 'tude already. :scared1:

I never worried about my weight when I was growing up, I think because all us kids were so active in those days, always running around, playing outside and stuff. We didn't have much in the way of video games like kids do now. Probably very good for us that we didn't, you know?

Didn't start to gain any weight until I went to college, and became a slug. (it's true - I really did! I went to University of California at Santa Cruz and their mascot is the banana slug. Sorry, drifting a little off topic there...). Anyway, still didn't worry about it too much until I had my daughter. Came to the realization about 4 years later that there seemed to be a lot more of me to love and it didn't seem to be moving (except in an icky jiggly way).

Long story short, started doing exercise videos in my basement, and when I got brave enough to face the world, I started taking classes. After a year or so of that, the folks running the exercise program, asked me if I wanted to teach for them. So, I've been teaching this aerobic dance class for the past 7 years.

The interesting thing is that I've taught this class at all different weights over the years, with a range of about 25 pounds. About a year ago I picked up a second class, which is what finally kickstarted my progress again and brought me close to goal. I'm now within a couple pounds of where I want to be.

I love my class -- it's the absolute highlight of my week, and it's what I would be doing all the time if I didn't have to make a living. So in real life, I'm an accountant.

The exercise has never been the problem for me, it's always been the food. And I'm very eager to get HockeyKat's perspective on this, because I know she is very active with sports. I believe it is very hard to lose weight when you are already an active person and exercising. I find it impossible to go with the 12 x your goal weight calculation for calories, because if I had to do that, I would fail in my food plan inside of a week. I have discovered that I just need more fuel than that.

So, what I did is modify that formula, plus it up by about 250 calories. I discovered if I followed that plan, I could actually lose weight, but anything less and not only would there be no weight loss, but I'd also be extremely unpleasant. So, my feeling for any of you getting caught in eating binges, try increasing your calories intake a little bit, see if that helps.

Well, gotta get moving. My daughter needs help untangling her mop of hair this evening. I'll post more tomorrow. Have a great night, everybody!!! And thanks again for letting me in. :goodvibes
Great intro! I'm the exact opposite of you. For the most part, I have no problem eating right. I'm just as happy eating a big bowl of carrots as I am with Doritos. The problem is getting active. I'd much rather plop down in front of the TV all night than do anything that could be considered exercise. So that is my downfall. But we are glad to have you aboard!

Alright yall... look at the size of my belly.

Need to lose some weight? ;)
Hey, how'd you get a picture of my stomach?!?

Good morning everyone!

i am down a measly .2

oh well..its down right! And i was all nervous at weigh after last weeks birthday cake extravaganza..so i will take it! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the sweet feedback on my siggie pic. I am so excited to be able to share pics now! have a great day everyone!!

Love you sig pic- you def don't look like you need to lose 40 lbs! my last loss was 3 weeks ago and it was only like .2 also-- trust me i would take that over my constant non wieght loss!

I was so depressed this morning. I was really bad last weekend and by monday, I had gained 4 pounds. So all week, I tried real hard and got those four pounds off. Only to get up this morning and weigh and see that I'd put one back on.
:(
But then I get to work and put my numbers in the spreadsheet - I didn't gain!!!!!
Yay!!!
I was thinking I SHOULD be at 237 this week - but I was at 238.6 last week - which is exactly what I weight this week!

Point being, I Stayed the same!!!!

I've never been so happy, even though I didn't lose. Woo!

After gaining last week, I stayed the same this week. I think I was on my way to a loss, but the late week beer and pizza Wednesday night did me in. However, I am still at a grand total of 28.9 pounds lost since the start of the year; an uber-grand total of 52.9 pounds lost since April 2005 in about 12 non-consecutive months; and I am now 32.1 pounds away from my goal weight of 155. Things have slowed down for me, but that is mostly due to being a little too liberal with my food choices on the weekends. And I know I can correct that.

I did have a success this week that I'm sure y'all will appreciate. Kohl's department store is having a big summer closeout sale, so we went last night to get some clothes for our September trip to WDW. (Sorry, no Peep meet for me. We are visiting relatives during our trip, so we'll already be strapped for time. But I'll be keeping my eyes peeled for your t-shirts to see if we can have an unscheduled meet!) Anyway, back to the clothes. I usually leave a department store depressed because nothing fits right. Either the shirts are too tight, too baggy, or the sleeves are so dang long that they look like 3/4 sleeves. For as long as I can remember, I've been in an XL. But just on a whim, I decided to try on a large. And much to my excitement, IT FIT!!! :woohoo: And not just in an "if I suck in my gut and wear a girdle all day, I might be able to pull this off" sort of way. It actually fit, to the point that I could sit down and not have the buttons start popping open. I could hardly contain my excitement. But since the two stalls on either side of me were occupied, I limited it to a few fist pumps. I think this is the sort of motivation that I needed to get back on my losing ways.

Hope everyone sees a good number today! Best of luck!

lex - yep, Kobe is in the same place. Right by the park.
They tore that TGIFriday's down several years ago.
For a few summers, I was there every night playing trivia.
good times!
They built a cute little building in it's place with a salon, a hot yoga place :confused3 and some offices.

Have an amazing time in WDW!!!!!!!

Loss of .50 or 1/2 lb either way its a loss!Morning Peeps!

OK so I had 2 slices of pizza last night and am trying to conquer my nightime eatting again. I am committing to 3 months as they say , anything you do for 3 months will become a habit! I think some brillant peep here said that!

I am amazed and should not be how quickly I can lose control and deal with frustration with food. My folks were here 2 weeks ago and my Dad pointed out how he had no idea that I would ever do this to myself as when I was a child I had good eatting habits! WEll no suprise there since I had front row seats to view what mean things would be said about those with bad habits. No thank you!

The 80s sure I was thin, single and loving the 80s with big hairspray, dancing all night long and food waht would I care about eatting I was too busy loving the 80s!!

I have since recovered from the 80s and now dancing all night is really out of the picture but music sure does inspire me. I downlaoding some fun music with a summer type of theme and am trying to get motivitated again its really a daily thing!

My sister is coming to visit and I am over the moon I love that neice and nephew of mine they are a delight! SO what have I been thinking?? What am I going to cook while they are here?? HUH?? Carzy! Yup I am so messed up I can't even type the word CRAZY!

So today I am going to finish cleaning out the work room get some yard work done and clean so much that I will not have the energy to lift a fork!

Hey Everyone! Thanks for all the nice comments on my belly picture! :thumbsup2

To all of yall who lost weight and to those trying their BEST:

WAY TO GO!!!!! :cool1: :cool1:

I was beginning to think you were an imposter....almost a whole post without typos?? Anyways, I hear you on the food issues. The first things we do when somebody is coming is make food or talk aout what we are going to make. We all could stand to lose a few pounds, it is nuts!

Hope everyone has a good weigh in today, I have seen some good numbers so far! As promised, I am still weighing in, for my own piece of mind to minimize the damages so to speak. Todays number was the same as last week, which this early on is fine with me!

I had gained 1.8 during my food fest at WDW last week but I lost all 1.8 so I am back to where I started so count me as a Samer this week

Sweet blessings to you too, as your tummy grows that miracle for you!! :wizard:

OK - first of all - Thank you for all the kind welcomes!!!!

I have lost 1.5 lbs this week.:thumbsup2 I really thought that I would not have lost at all this week. DH left for 3 weeks and I have taken the kids out a lot this week (hate cooking), but I did eat a lot of grilled chicken - no bread.

What I did good for myself was - stay away from my daughter's birthday cupcakes and trashed the extra!!!!! the boys don't know that yet!:rolleyes1

Well, good luck with your Friday weigh-ins.

Jennifer

okay. i thought i quoted, but apparently the computer i'm using at the office doesn't like me. AND it won't let me use smilies or change my font. ????? (using question marks because i can't use the shrugging smilie!!!)

anyway, if i can remember, here we go.....

harley - thanks for the birthday wishes!

thinktink - have a blast!!!!!

WIdisneyfan - congrats on the kohl's shopping trip! and if you see me at disney in september, say hello! i don't know what you look like and since i'm a picture freak i'm sure you know what i look like by now!

i'm sure i've forgotten someone.......so i'll just say hi to everyone!!! (with no waving smilie!)

i'm a SAMER this week, but i'm very happy with that. i was expecting a gain since i had my usual cheat day last weekend and another one on my birthday. plus this weight loss thing is really slowing down for me lately. i guess i'm getting to where i should be since it's starting to move so slowly.

hope everyone has a good friday! i'm off to another deposition!

I am down -2.

:rotfl2:

It's really weird... in the last few weeks I seem to have a ton of energy. I think that my metabolism and body have caught up with the exercise I have been doing. Plus I have been trying to get my 8 hours of sleep which definitely helps.

I was taking that Mega-T Green Tea supplement (with Hoodia!) for a while and still take one now and again... I swear by it for appetite suppressant and energy. I am really caffeine sensitive so the hard-core diet stuff makes my heart race (heck, two cups of coffee and I shake!). This seems to be a good level for me.

Love the pic! :thumbsup2

Great job!! I want to lose 4 lbs...

Congrats to all the other "losers", samers, and anyone who has tried extra hard.

I have a conference from 1PM today through the weekend... they are providing bfast and lunch. I so hope there are healthy choices!!

I could hardly contain my excitement. But since the two stalls on either side of me were occupied, I limited it to a few fist pumps.

That is sooooo awesome!:yay:

Almost forgot to post my loss... down 1.8 (boy, I miss the days when it was 8.1... oh, well).:dance3:
