Me and DH (before we were married) at my brother's wedding. I'll put this one around 1987. I think his hair might be a little worse than mine.

Melinda, you are gorgeous!!!! And I do love you're dh's hair. Wasn't that the basic men's haircut of the time???

just saw this on the news......

http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/7033242?MSNHPHCP&gt1=10239

i honestly think it's worse to be involved in something like this than in drugs or stealing or something. it's just cruel. i don't get how people can be so heartless. i know nothing's been proven yet, but if what they're saying is true, i hope he rots in jail. :sad2:

I bet he gets off. Seems like most people with money do. And you're right...this is worse then drugs or robbery. I used to want to use my criminal justice degree to be an animal cop but I don't think I could handle not being able to save all the animals and even worse, watching someone get off.

jen - love your pics, especially the skorts! i had some of those....:sad2: sadly, i too thought i was fat when i was in high school. for example, look at that senior pic i posted above......i actually complained because i thought i looked fat in those jeans! what i would do for that body now!!! :rolleyes1 so silly!!!!

I had more of a 40's & 50's bod (Marilyn Monroe, Jane Russell, Jane Mansfield, Rita Hayworth), but it was the 70's & 80's when models had lost most of their curves. I actually had a flatter stomach than the "skinny girls". I felt fat because I was told I was fat... by my parents. In high school, they actually took my mustang away because I didn't lose a lb. a week. They taught me to yo-yo and crash diet quite well... they'd offer me money to lose weight or my dad would make a bet with me to see who could lose the most weight. I'd crash diet at the last minute and "win".

Of course, this was when I was playing and reffing soccer, playing basketball, doing colorguard, and running track. I had very muscular legs... you know how guys do the bicep thing to show their muscles pop, well I could do that with my hamstrings. Like I said, I had a flat stomach, muscular legs, a small high waist, and I was fairly well endowed compared to my classmates (for some reason "men" were always more attracted to me than "boys" :rolleyes1 ). Anyway, I weighed 140-155 when they were doing all this.

My mom used to be super thin (even kind of anorexic at one point) and never weighed even 120. I know it was mean of me, but when my mother started gaining weight and got up to the 160's and got "fat"... I secretly enjoyed every minute of it. Today, I got perverse pleasure out of trying on the pants she was wearing... yes, they were big on her and just a little tight on me... but I could wear them.

OMG! I sound so bitter! I'm really not... not any more anyway. It's more just one of those facts now... it happened, can't change that, just had to get past it and get on with life.

Hi Peeps!

What a long day. I've been at the clinic since 10 trying to catch up on work and then I had class from 5:30-8. I'm finally home and ready to do more work.

Quick Question: On cell phones, if the other person cannot receive or send text messages, would it still go through as sent on my phone? Or would it be unable to send? Does that make sense? I'm just curious because I sent a text to someone and I have no idea if they have that capability (although it seems most do these days). Any answers are appreciated!

It should tell you that it was a successful text only if it actually is BUT some phone keep everything in the sent folder, whether the text went through or not. I know my razor is like that because I sent my boyfriend a pic of our puppy and he couldn't recieve it but it still went to my sent folder.... however it told me it failed when i tried to send it. hope that makes sense, and helps.

I have no idea :confused3 Sorry, but you said any answers!:rotfl2:

Since I graduated in 2001, I still have clothes I wore in high school let alone be ready to say how bad the style was, lol... but I have a few good ones from my weee young years....
106.jpg

My sister, My dad and Me at Hershey Park circa 1987-88...now we are in our Hershey park tees but I would like to direct your attention to the couple above my sister (in the red shirt) on the left... they are wearing awful MC Hammer pants and are totally synchronized and matching! lol!

And this one--1984-5ish is a sort of cute little girl style for me and my sister (i am the littler one in yellow) but I still tease my dad because of suit... stylin!

i can't send text messages on my phone, but i can receive them. i get them all the time from my sister and my friends and then they ask me why i never write back and i have to remind them because i'm too cheap to pay for something that would stretch out a conversation over 10 text messages when you could just call me and we could be done with it in 5 seconds. so to answer your question, i think if that person has a cell phone that was made within the last like 5 years they should be able to receive the message, even if they can't send them.

DH and i just had a conversation about getting second jobs on the weekends, like at a restaurant on friday and saturday nights. he wants the extra money for "toys" and i want it for christmas shopping and disney money. we worked in restaurants for the first 7 years of our relationship while i was slowly making my way through school and we both said we'd never do it again. are we nuts??????? DH says it won't be bad because it's not like we depend on it for income....it would just be extra money. so the minute we get sick of it we could quit. i don't know....

OK...I found a picture, scanned it, uploaded it and here it is....

This is before heading out to the bar with a friend. I was about 18 or 19.
Can I be this "fat" again????

Thanks everyone for your cell phone answers!

I knew I shouldn't have sent it. Now its going to be bugging me if A. got it or not. Oh well.

OMG. my DH had that same hair back in the day. I think it was standard issue back then :lmao: And you look like a model...actually in that last pic you look ALOT like a soap character on my favorite soap. (General hospital, Monica Quartermaine back in her younger years)

Well, most phones that are at least 5 yrs old or newer can get them, but it doesnt mean he knows how to read and/or respond to them. (just assuming it was a HE!) I get them adn am too cheap to pay to respond or read them too ;)

See, the only flaw in your plan is the not counting on the money part. I find the more we make the more we get used to spending. You may very well get used to the extra cash and stay at the second job longer than was the original plan, even if you hate it, because you come to count on the cash......just playing devils advocate ;)

Whoohooty! We have some hot mamas here! Where are our peep men at? Come on....we want to see your 80's hair and bad fashion too. Anyone have a pic with the skinny piano tie and acid wash jeans they care to share? (or was that just an east coast fashion trend?)

Okay, I finally got a few pics that I can share (some are headless to preserve the innocent!), please don't link the start weight pic if that's okay!!

Here is me about 5 yrs ago at what will hopefully be my goal, about 145-150:
kat35.jpg

Here is me at about 175, on my wedding day:

Here is a captured fuzzy pic from my Jan WDW DVD, at 215-220:

Here is my current weight, 185:

Hope that helps Dene and others... I am about 5'7-5'8, for reference, and very much an apple shape.

Great pics! We are about the same height and weight right now, so I love being able to look at these and say "thats what I would probably look like" thanks for the upload!

Sorry you had to cancel the trip Bee, but don't worry other opportunities will come up! It's good to hear from you. You know we're here for you and we know you're going through alot right no, so keep checkin in so we can help ya through it all! OF course we forgive you for hoarding the recipe books!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: You're not alone and all hoarders are forgiven...stuff happens!!!Love ya!

we do love you Bee

OMG the memories those pics bring up! Ew... ew... ew. I remember those ear things :scared: -- so not my style, but I had friends... Did have a pair of the huge leg jeans -- god we thought we were cool. :rotfl2:

This goes back a few more years -- anybody have a pic of themselves in "rolled" jeans (or was that just a mid-atlantic thing)? I refuse to incriminate myself...

We had tight rolled jeans!!! and wore them with our multicolored jamaican tie belts!!

Hey, how'd you get a picture of me??????

I'll say! ;) Thanks for starting the bad hair photos. I am really enjoying them!

oooo SexyLexy!

well i never have been a fan of his, so this is just one more reason that the Falcons need to let him go IMHO

Yes, it does... thanks!

Great pics! We are about the same height and weight right now, so I love being able to look at these and say "thats what I would probably look like" thanks for the upload!

Sometimes, I just want to ask whoever I'm with to point out somebody that is the same size/shape as me... the "mirror" is definitely NOT the me that shows up in pictures. I guess my brain still can't correctly process the changes... and since I FEEL young, my eyes see me as younger than the camera does. :cutie:

On a related note... I've been looking at a LOT of pictures of men lately... so many of them "my age" look OLD. I've also noticed signs of age that I never noticed before (because, as my daughter says I had extra padding that hid the wrinkles). Soooo, as I lose weight, not only is my inner girly-girl asserting herself, she's also getting very, very vain! :lmao:

Afternoon Peeps!

Welcome Jennifer/PilotWife!!!! :goodvibes

I survived the dentist.
glad it wasn't too bad

so cute! she even sort of has snow white's hairstyle! now all you need is a little red bow.
Punkin's right - red bow and she's perfect. She's already perfectly adorable!

har har- you and dene are funny girls both- always posting headshots...ahem can you not see the difference in your neck and collarbone and cheekbones?!
That's what I was going to say, Dawn. You can really see a difference! Way to go!

I aknowledged that I feel like the toilet seat of humanity. I just ate a dozen cookies and the other 5 dozen are calling my name. I won't bore you further with all of the reasons I feel this way, because they're probably very lame compared to others. But the show must go on. In a minute I'll post a picture of something that made me smile today!
Know this feeling so well - glad you're better. No more dozen cookies (said very kindly - I promise!) They'll only make you feel worse.

Anyway.... hi...... bye later folks.Bee
Thank you... I do always feel loved here.

Know that I love and miss you all... Just have seperated myself from some Disney things... Now that I dont see a future at Disney... just another loss in my life.

Love to my peeps!!!

Bee
GLad to "see" you, Bee. I know it's hard to be alone. I'm so sad about how you feel, but you will have some good times again. Don't give up on Disney - or us!

I can tell you that I found some old measurements from March 2005... I was probably 40ish lbs below my Christmas max so the inches off are actually probably greater. But as of 7/14 I've lost the following inches:
bust -4.5
waist -7
abdomen -10.5
butt -8.25
left thigh -3.5
right thigh -4.5 (right was and still is slightly larger)
neck -2.25

So, when someone said they could see the difference in my neck, they really could. Don't know what my wrists were, but my Mickey Watch went from the 2nd notch to the 5th.
Wow! Wow! Wow! I can't help being inspired by you! Keep up the great work!
Hey Everybody!!!

Anyway- glad to be home.

Glad you're back! Hope it was fun in spite of the walking and sweating!
We went in September of last year, and I'm from the south and used to the heat, but we were miserable. But it was still a blast.

OK, I need to make a confession!
Edited to add: I did some GUESS-timating, and if I have a VERY small dinner, I might only end up doing about 600 calories worth of damage. I can be careful the next couple of days and make that up, so I guess it isn't totally ridiculous. I did, however, have more sugar than I'm used to, and I am wishing I hadn't done that because I am fearing that may do some damage on weigh in day. I guess we'll see. I think I will work out tonight too. Wasn't planning on it, but I know I'll feel better if I do.
Just a good reminder of why you're working so hard!

I love the stroll down bad clothing choice lane! I don't think I have any pictures on my computer of jr. high or high school, but I did big hair very well! I still remember blowing out the sides of my hair and spranging it so I almost had wings. And I totally did the rolled up jeans along with jeans so thight at the ankle they had to have a zipper and a little bow at the ankle. Oh and stretch pants with stirups! Should we play guess what decade winkers grew up in????
Love seeing everyone's pics! Ok we've got to be close to the same age!

So cute Lynda! What's sad is that while everyone else was doing the spiral perm I was wishing my hair was strait!
I had a feeling that was naturally curly hair! Me too! I fought with it for years, and now I've surrendered. I have no control anyway!

Can't hurt to try it and see how bad it is! - or not! It might be well worth it to have the funds to play with! I've thought about it but I have no serving skills! :rotfl2: I know I'd hurt someone!

I think some of my quotes disappeared, but it's late, and I don't know what they were! But I got caught up! Hope you all have a great day tomorrow!

since we're sharing old pics, this is one of my favorites. i have it framed in my office. that's my little brother hugging my neck....i think he was about 3. he had crawled into bed with me and this is how my dad found us that morning both sound asleep.....

File00042.jpg

Dawn I love the picture of you with your little brother! So cute. I have a brother and sister 10 & 9 years younger than me and we have a different bond than I do with my older siblings.

My little sis is also about 10 years younger than me. It is definitely a different relationship. Growing up I was more like a 2nd mom or live-in babysitter. Now she says I'm more like a young aunt... :confused3

Me and DH (before we were married) at my brother's wedding. I'll put this one around 1987. I think his hair might be a little worse than mine.
JamiMeli.jpg

your DH's hair is GREAT!!!!!! i wish i had the one of ray when he had a mullet. i didn't know him back then, but he went to high school with my cousin and he's in his annual. i think it was like '88.

melinda.....i swear you look like a glamorous '80's cover girl model or something! what a fox!

Holy moly!! I agree with punkin. You look like a model (or at least like you should have been on Dynasty. Gorgeous.

My sister, My dad and Me at Hershey Park circa 1987-88...now we are in our Hershey park tees but I would like to direct your attention to the couple above my sister (in the red shirt) on the left... they are wearing awful MC Hammer pants and are totally synchronized and matching! lol!

Hershey Chocolate, Hershey Chocolate, it's a Hershey Chocolate World... We used to go there every summer. I remember those steps well!
