If you posted and I missed it, let me know!

I'm hoping to get more numbers before I post the grand total for the week.

I was hoping to join you guys. I would love to be down to 150 by March. I just started my diet and excerise routine. So the house is currently filled with Lean Cuisines, 100 calorie packs(love the oreo candy bite ones), fruit, and yogurt. And I'm trying to ride at least 5 miles a day on my excercise bike.

I just need a little push to keep me at it.
I hope to join in soon with some negative numbers!!

:welcome:

We'll push you where eva you need to go.

Wendy - I'm up 2 lbs this week, which is better than it was a couple of days ago. I did a little damage in Chicago. I can't DIS from work anymore so my weigh ins will always be late now unfortunately. :(

We have a NEW PEEP....My DS18 Jordan. Who's Username shall be:

KinkyKittyKat

HAHAHAHAAAA! He bought all this lean food and cleaned out a drawer in the fridge and declared it HIS DRAWER....to which I replied, "Oh reeeally?"

He needs to lose his gut. Luckily he's a BOY so my calling him fat hasn't done any lasting damage. That I know about. (Nobody act surprised when he's in therapy with some funky eating disorder). Seriously, I'm very encouraging to him. He always loses a TON by just not "drinking his calories" -soda and energy drinks. I'm so proud!:lovestruc

I told him I'm adding him to this thread and he didn't mind. But he won't actively be posting, I don't think.

I still need a bunch of numbers but will wait till later to send the "PM of Doom" :cool2:

Tell Jordan I said hi and welcome to the Peeps! :wave2:

give me strength!

obstacle number 1: we're going to PF chang's for dinner. it's SO hard to count calories with such yummy chinese food!

obstacle number 2: after dinner we're going to see "clover field." ray's dying to see it. anyway, I WILL NOT EAT POPCORN. I WILL NOT EAT POPCORN. I WILL NOT EAT POPCORN.

MMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, PG Chang's!

And we are going to see Cloverfield tomorrow night. Let me know what you think!

I'll get to work on the mini Chicago trippie now! :thumbsup2

I finally settled on Dec 10-19, 2008 at POR, cancelled the days at CR (it was hard passing up 162.00 a night there. And we are paying 89.40 a night for the first 8, and then 149.00 for the 19th cause that's blocked.

now you're not going the same time as me! :sad2: but i totally understand about saving money! i'd be all over it too!!!

Hey Dawn - about that movie... popcorn:: wwpd??? (and I'll never forget when Rosie O'Donnel had her talk show and went on the low carb diet - and they told her to eat cheese instead of popcorn!! :rotfl2: ) STAY STRONG!! :cheer2: YOU can do it You CAN DO IT you can do it :cheer2:

You've worked so very hard to get this far - NOTHING tastes as good as THIN feels!! How does it feel??? STAY STRONG :cheer2:

Ohhhhhh Noooooo....leaping across the room to knock the chop sticks out of your hands! Good Luck!!! Luckily, you have a while to go before next weigh day (SEE what a bad influence I am?). Popcorn is the ULTIMATE test for me! I've only succeeded that test once, and I obsessed about it the whole time :lovestruc Again, good luck...may the PEEP force be with you!

thanks for the encouragement!!! i didn't have ANY popcorn at the movies. of course that's because i was too full from dinner. but i didn't do too awful. probably the worst thing i had was a bite of fried calamari (they have the BEST calamari in the WORLD there, so it's a must) and a few kung pao shrimp. other than that i had lettuce wraps and some steak that was a special tonight. oh, and some sort of lo mein dish, but not much. not ideal, but not terrible either.

and in case you've never been to PF changs and are wondering, no i did NOT order all those things for me! :lmao: the idea behind the way they do things there is you order a few things and everyone shares.

I was hoping to join you guys. I would love to be down to 150 by March. I just started my diet and excerise routine. WELCOME!!!!!!!!! weigh-ins are on fridays.....you just post what you've lost or gained for that week in big, pretty numbers and wendy keeps a tally of our total weight loss. so weigh yourself today so you'll have something to compare it to next week. you'll love it here!

And we are going to see Cloverfield tomorrow night. Let me know what you think!

I'll get to work on the mini Chicago trippie now! :thumbsup2

i won't give too much away.....let's just say i think there's going to be a sequel (or a prequel). it was scary but most of all you just want to see what that darn thing is that's attacking the city! it was funny - anna and chris were sitting behind us (the theater was PACKED and that's the only way we could sit remotely close to each other!) and she said when they'd show quick shots of the "thing" that's attacking the city that our heads would move in the same direction, stretching to follow the camera until the "thing" was out of the shot. you'll see what i mean when you go see it! :3dglasses

remind me to read about your chicago trip when i return from nashville!

well, wish me luck, peeps! they're calling for snow tomorrow morning in atlanta and chattanooga, which is the way i go to nashville. :headache: i'm just gonna watch it closely and if it's less than an inch i'm still going. i'm a big girl.......wish me safe travels!

OK, so here's the scoop on our trip to Chicago last weekend...

On Thursday morning, we were mapquesting Water Tower Place in Chicago (shopping mall downtown with 7 floors), and I searched for hotels near there and found this - the Hard Rock Hotel! (Our room looked exactly like the one in the slide show on the main page. I didn't take a picture of the room itself.) We also got tickets to Wicked online! :woohoo:

We got ready and hit the road after changing up our suitcases a bit. We arrived at the hotel around 3pm, checked in, I called one of my best friends to let her know what we were doing, and we relaxed in the room for a while. DH called down and made us reservations at the China Grill that was inside the hotel.

Upon checking my email, I found an invite to a party on the north side of Chicago at which Pete Wentz from Fall Out Boy (one of my favorite bands) would be doing a DJ-ing set. It was being put on my Malibu liquor, it was free, and the Malibu beverages were free, so I RSVPed. I figured we'd decide later.

A little while before our reservations, we headed down to check out a Vera Bradley retailer that DH had found near the hotel. When we got outside it was raining, and luckily the shop was like two doors down. AND they had a Vera Bradley umbrella in my print (mod floral pink)!!! I quickly picked it up and after looking around, decided it would be the only purchase there. We headed back to our hotel and our dinner, which was quite yummy and quite filling! Then we headed to the theater, which was only about 4 blocks away. It was a beautiful old theater! And Wicked was just WONDERFUL!!! I sneaked the picture of the map/stage curtain when no one was looking since photos weren't allowed inside the theater. :ssst:

The next day we shopped our way down Michigan Ave up to Water Tower Place and back. I got a Nine West bag for $19.99 at Nine West and a long sleeved Alice t-shirt for about $8 at the Disney Store on Michigan Ave. We had dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe, and when we got back to the hotel after a side trip to Bloomingdale's (which was closing), we watched Game Plan on pay per view.

Our hotel is the darker building in this pic - beautiful!

Another day of shopping followed. This time we walked over to Old Navy and then took a cab down to Bloomingdale's and Louis Vuitton. After that, we took a cab up to the north side to hit a couple of boutiquey shops my friend and I have discovered on our recent Chicago trips. Then we headed back to the hotel. After a break there, we headed over to Ed Debevic's for dinner and decided to go to the Malibu party. We did indeed get in for free, and we did indeed get free Malibu drinks. Most were really good. One was AWFUL. But we just threw it away and tried another. We each tried about 4 different drinks. A Mango Malibu Mojito being one that was yummy! The party was in another old theater. The seats had been removed, and it wasn't as nice as the one Wicked was in, but it was pretty cool. We moved down in front of the stage, where the DJ was, at around 11:30 because I had a 'feeling' Pete would be coming out soon. At about midnight, he did. He played some great songs - some of my favorites actually - Sweet Escape by Gwen Stefani, Just Like Heaven by The Cure, My Sharona by The Knack, Livin' on a Prayer by Bon Jovi, a couple of Gym Class Heroes songs - it was very 80's inspired, which I LOVE, being the 80's child that I am. :goodvibes Here's a couple pics I took...

and a link to the photos taken by the photographer this website sends out. http://chicago.going.com/event-213090?type=album (You might have to sign up to see the pics, but I'm not sure.) I plan to save a few of the pics, but I haven't done it yet, so I can't post them at this time.

Pete's dad was there, and they got him out on stage at one point. Pete then dedicated a song to him saying, "Thanks for making babies and having me."

After that, we headed back to the room and got up the next morning to check out. :sad1:

After we did so, we headed out to Oakbrook to an outdoor mall they have there. They had a Vera Bradley store, which was really cool, but I didn't get anything. They had a lot of really cool stores actually. After that, we were off to Aurora to the outlet mall. It was there that I acquired two - yes, two new Coach purses! (Good sale!) We drove to Bolingbrook that night and stayed at a Springhill Suites before heading home the next morning. But we shot just past home to hit an outlet mall about 20 minutes south of here, and at Old Navy there, I got 2 long sleeved v-neck t-shirts, a hoodie, a v-neck sweater, and a zip-up sweater, and DH got a long sleeved thermal shirt and a sweater, and our total was about $65!!! I LOVE sales!

Oh yes! The view from our hotel room at the Hard Rock!!!

Well, that's about it. It wasn't Disneyland, but we did have a great time! OH! AND DH talked to Disney Travel and was able to rebook our DL trip for December of this year, and they applied all but about $250 of the money towards that trip!!! That's right! We only lost $250! I am so thrilled.

Mmmm, lettuce wraps!

Can't wait to see that movie! Thanks for the "review"! :thumbsup2

Be safe! Have a great trip!

I'm up 1 lb. Between last weekend and pizza last night (which I measured and planned for and drank buckets of water afterwards) it wasn't a surprise. I'm back to the gym tomorrow.:woohoo: (that's me on the elliptical). Did i tell you what a dork I am? (I know UM loves dork stories). I'm coordinated enough to read while I do the elliptical. However, a couple of weeks ago I let go of one of the moving handles to rub my eye, and the handle smacked my arm, causing me to poke my eye but good. I just hope nobody saw:blush:
which one was drew? i watched most of it...i just can't remember the names yet.
He was the blond farm boy.

Morning Peeps.

I want to jump on this and start us off with some fireworks.

I'm down from last week -5.4!

Ok, I'm happy again.:cool1: :cool1:

I just want to say I love my Children's Literature class. I have 100 children's books to read along with our syllabus work, (taking away from my New Moon time) but it filled with other hopeful teachers and is making me feel closer to my end goal. Makes what I'm doing more real.
Congrats on the big loss. I loved that class so much I took it twice, once as an undergrad at Berkeley and once in grad school at San Jose State. It was a challenge to keep up on the reading, though. I had to read something like 5 picture books, a children's novel and 2 YA novels a week.

No big plans for the 3 day weekend. Catching up on housework because we were on the retreat all last weekend. Sunday we are renting 3:10 to Yuma to watch with my mom, who is a huge Western fan. I'm a Christian Bale fan myself. I may have to watch the movie twice.:rolleyes1

/
I'm dressed for a workout!! :cool1: Going to Ballys bright and early - 30 min on a treadmill, then lift some weights and tote some fat!!
:woohoo:
WOOHOOOTY MONICA!! :woohoo: and I remember that Literature Class - if I remember my class - the teacher held up an Anthology that was over $100 and said you did not have to buy the book but it would help on the final - and my mom found it at a RUMMAGE SALE!! (we did live in a college town - Valparaiso Univ) so when it came time for finals we had to have a synopsis of over 100 books, so many of my classmates got B's and stayed up reading till 3am - I just used the Anthology!! - - so if you get behind in class - go to a great local library and ask about Anthologies for Children's Literature!!

Punkin WOOHOO!! See I'm never too full for Popcorn - thanks for the inspiration!!

Lynda MY kind of TOWN, Chicago is!! I cant wait to run the 5K and the Chicago Distant Classic - I'm staying downtown!! (but we'll Priceline the hotels, so who knows?!!) and the PURSES - envious!! I did buy a purse in Disney the Vera Bradley Hidden Mickey Blue clone purse!! (you probably missed my post - I fell really hard inside the BCV - and when I told dh he heard "You fell and want a purse - ok, I'll buy you a purse" when I said "I fell and didnt get hurt" it helped me move on tho!! :rotfl2:

Yeah, we did not Priceline the hotel, but we did get a pretty good price. I think it was $139 a night for 3 nights. I can't remember for sure, but for the location, view, free wireless internet access, dvd/cd player and sitting area in the room, concierge, and all the other amenities, I was pretty happy with that. Your purse sounds cute! :) And funny that you say that about DH. As you may have guessed, my DH was REALLY trying to make it up to me that we weren't in DL. He felt TERRIBLE and was VERY appreciative that I wasn't mad at him, which is why we went to Wicked, and I got those purses, and why we pretty much went where I wanted to go all weekend. :rotfl: It did help me take my mind off of the situation and move on. And we both ended up having a really good time, and we even had mild weather for Chicago in January.

Oh, LYnda!

Your trip sounds wonderful!

The Hard Rock Hotel sounds great and the view is incredible! Is it south of the river? Did you have to pay to park?

Sounds like you got lots of great stuff too. And you and Pete are like *that* aren't you???

Dawn....Did you succumb to the lure of fresh movie popcorn? DD went to see Cloverfield last night. I no-likey the scarey ones.

Danielle & Monica....I too had a children's lit class in college that I loooooved. Which is probably why I still read primarily juvenile fiction.....chapter books. ;)

Sandy.....It sounded like you were about to rat me out? But....my rationale is that if I'm having trouble buttoning my pants, I need to lose a coupla. Did I tell you again this week how proud I am that you finished the marathon?

Everybody.......:wave2:

HAVE A GREAT DAY!

Happy Saturday everyone! Saw lots of pretty numbers posted here yesterday too!

DH is actually off today- a rare thing for him and strange thing for me. It is 9:30 and I am already asking if he maybe needs to go check in for a few hrs there, lol. I am so not used to having him home. DD and I usually just do our own thing. Gonna be a long weekend here! We are painting the baby's room though, so that will be fun.

Hope you are all having a good weekend! Stay warm to all the peeps in the freezing cold weather!

Hey, ladies! Weighed myself again today and now I am down two pounds from yesterday's weight. I don't know what made me gain the pound yesterday, but I am grateful for the advice you guys gave. I sometimes do forget about those hidden carbs. I don't really count them, I just try to stick with eggs, meat, cheese and a few veggies and eat until I'm full. But I will try and be more conscious of those hidden carbs. So thank you! I am feeling fortunate to have you guys around! :grouphug:

Disneyfreak92: Those pics are fabulous! That theater is beautiful, and seeing Wicked is one of my life's goals. Congrats on a great weekend! I'm totally jealous!

Bonnie.....I know you are avoiding the carbs. But.

I think after a few weeks of meat and cheese you might just need an 8-pack of Activia yogurt and a box of Fiber One....washed down with about 3 gallons of lemon water....if you get my drift. ;)

LYNDA!!!! Amazing pictures and those are TIGHT bags! Now I'm not as sad you missed DL (for now). I love Fall Out Boy too...can't find my CD, blame KinkyKittyKat. I would LOVE to go see WICKED and go shopping! I'm sooooo glad your DH likes to do that kind of stuff.

OK!!! WHO is ready for our grand TOTAL???? (ME ME ME!!!!)

This week we lost a total of....31.13 pounds!

Our GRAND 2008 total is 131.83!

LOVE that price for Hardrock - that is AWESOME!! and I forgot to tell you how envious I am of your Coach Bag!!! Maybe, one day.... Love both of them, I wouldnt be able to pick one over the other!! So glad you're going back - and now, remember to tell your dh that sometimes "mechanical problems" means your plane isnt full so we're combing two flights!!!

Mony Were you the BIGGEST LOSER???

Challenge OK I met my goal - 30 min cardio, and 30 min of other weights, and abs!! COME ON PEEPS!! Also getting my water in!! :)

Melinda I still feel very embarrassed - I promise to do better at the August Half!!

Sounds like you got lots of great stuff too. And you and Pete are like *that* aren't you???

Thanks! :) It was just a block south of the river. That is the bridge over the river in the picture. And the hotel had valet parking that was about $40 per day. I can't remember exactly. It's high, but it was too convenient to pass up. There was a self park less than a block away we saw when we got up there, but it probably wouldn't have been THAT much cheaper. We just went for it.

 Pete and I are SO like *that*! :rotfl: My friend and I are just signed up for so many different Fall Out Boy related websites and get updates, and since they are from Chicago and most of them still live there, they do a lot of events up there. And well, my friend and I always enjoy looking at Pete.

Thanks! :) You better tell KinkyKittyKat to give up that CD! (Doesn't he have an ipod anyway? ) Fall Out Boy is one of my favorite things to work out to. They have a lot of energy. Believe me - I know how lucky I am that my DH enjoys that stuff. I know a lot of guys don't. Yes, he was being accomodating, but he really does like shopping (to an extent), and this was his first musical. He loved it though! :)

I was pleased with the Hard Rock price. And I wish I knew that about the "mechanical problems" before. I will be sure to tell him.

NO SNOW!!!!!!:sad2: :sad1: It is all south of here. :confused3 Dawn should have had no travel problems. It's just cold, and gonna get colder. I think our low tonight will be in the teens.:cold: Too cold for my southern blood.

Ok Sandy, I'll go up and get on my gazelle. I am hoping to train for a 10K in May. Our Fleet Feet store has a training schedule for it starting in March. It tells you what to do each day. It tells you how far to go, when to rest, etc. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I also realized the the Peachtree Road Race in Atlanta is a 10K. I always grew up thinking it was a half marathon because it seems like it is ALOT longer than 6 miles. :confused3 Maybe someday I'll do that. This year I'll be rafting with the youth group that day. :cool1: :yay:

Hey ya'll just checkin in to help me stay on track today
