Hi All!
I'm slowly coming out of lurkdom here.
I feel like I 'know' many of you from other threads and the roughly 500 pages I've tried to read here (OK, I confess, I'm lost on a lot, but I am trying to keep up)
What I do know is that I love all things Disney, we trek to the World to donate all of our cash to the mouse at least twice a year, AND I have weight to lose. Lots of it. So I really enjoy hanging out here.
I've been on South Beach since January of 2006, lost 30 pounds, but have plateaued and am rather discouraged about it. And when I say plateaued, I'm talking 6 months now. I really believe in the program - my eating habits have changed considerably and I no longer wander into the kitchen to stare into the fridge for no apparent reason. Cravings are gone and I feel great about the things I do eat.
BUT - I still have at least 50 pounds

to lose and can't seem to get the scale to budge.
I'm self-employed (I was a graphic designer for 15 years before my company decided to move to Austin TX. Now I'm a conference planner but still do all of my own marketing.) I live in front of my computer.

Occasionally I actually do work (This DIS thing sure does infiltrate your life, doesn't it?? Don't you wish we could use smilies in real-life emails?

)
This sounds like fun. Mind if I play too?
1. Tomato juice (not for those with bloaty ankles.) (Sorry, Mariann

)
2. South Beach Diet Bars - Maple Nut, Nut Creations and my favorite: Peanut Butter. I sprinkle the top of the PB ones with about 10 dark chocolate chips and zap for 10 seconds. Voila - one gooey peanut butter and chocolate mess. Great with half of a sliced banana.

(And yes, I use a fork. Too adventurous for me to try to eat with my fingers.)
3. Wasabi Soy Almonds
4. Light String Cheese with Low Fat Triscuits. Great heated.
5. Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper
Finally, to those who have just been as profoundly affected by the events of the last 24 hours as I have, my prayers are with you -
I have four daughters, all living away from home, three on college campuses. I sent 'hugs' to all today. Not one accused me of being a dorky mom. (Now that was a first!)
