Now we went to Texas Roadhouse, and it is DS birthday... oh, what are mother's for - but to embarrass their children? And what a wonderful son to accomadate his doting mother!!

oh, and of course this is DS who tried very hard to convince his mom it is against policy to photograph a SPO!!

Drink in the sweeping views along the veranda that overlooks the courtyard and sparkling pool. Specialties include wonderful salads, soups, sandwiches and creative entrées for lunch, and steak and fresh seafood for dinner.

have some salads and tea and do a PEEP MEET PICTURE?

I would love to spend some time alone with my peeps.. but, this will be my first trip anywhere without Dan.. So, it really needs to be about me and the gilrls.. However it they get along with some of the older kids.. maybe they could hang with them for a bit.. We will see.

I'm not sure I can plan it, but I would want to be there!! I'm sure there can be some down time around the pool too!! It may be a good time for the kids to get to know each other...

I do think we can chat about plans on the disMeet thread too... I have some ideas... but...hmmm

and Bee, we respect that!! But keep in mind if you are up and out the door at the same time we are, and we are going to a park llike animal kingdom, I hope my dd can join your dd and they can all have fun and we can pull you into a happy place!! I will say for us... 3 is a hard number!! So many rides only hold 2 so dh and dd would ride, or dd and I would ride... so I'm hoping for some fun... and borrow a kid or two here and there!!! (and yes, my dh is a big kid!!)

Um - Aries Im confused...I saw DisAmys post about us (me and her - she and I whatever) coming to the dinner, this is what night? and woudl the lunch be in liu if the dinner or in addition to it? I would really consider $5 per hour a slap in the face and a disgrace!!
Considering this---Ball park figure (I know the locations prices are different) 2 year old and an infant from 7:30-4:00 weekdays and light cleaning (mainly picking up after the kids). Somedays may be until 5:00. Location my house. I would not even know how to begin to figure a price.

Are you looking to know what I would charge?? For that situation I would charge about $11/hr. I also ask for vacation/holiday pay and sick days!

Yeah, I usually charge about $10/hour and more if there is more than one kid. I know daycare places around here are paying about $7 if you are lucky. And I dont have the flexibility I have working out of my house or somebody elses house even.

Yeah...that's what daycares up here pay too. I told my cousin's wife to look into nannying. She is at a daycare and making minimum wage. She never did. I don't get that. Why do you want to watch a bunch of kids when you could double your pay and watch 2 or 3??

I meant to tell you all that the evil SIL is the last bridesmaid on the end in my wedding pics. Evil, evil. Oh and yes, the 3 yo got her way and stood for the ceremony AND ate at the head table. She threw a fit apparently when I was walking down the aisle and I never noticed they let her stand for the ceremony until it was over. I saw the fit she threw to sit at the head table. SIL gives her ANYTHING she wants. At that point what could I do?? Grr.

GOOD NEWS:
I have at least 2 people that want to hire me so far...I knew it wouldnt take long, but I am stiff miffed at the other people anyways Neither of them is full time so I may do them both! And they are both willing to bring their kids to my house, thus saving me gas and allowing me to do a few things around my house when they are keeping each other occupied. Yippee! I had another lady who owns a preschool call me because she saw my nanny profile and wants me to work in her preschool...I dont think she could afford me though

I work in a daycare and have done child care in my home for about 9 years also.The reason I work in a daycare (making 7.50)instead of doing in-home full time anymore is because with four kids I like the flexibility.My kids used to get sick alot and I wouldn't be able to keep the kids ,which put the parents in a jam.It also allows me to go on the kids' field trips and stuff like that.I do keep three kids after school(Harley's and Dragonfly's).I will be getting out of the daycare business as soon as Rachel can start full day school but not only for money reasons.Sometimes by the end of the day I am "Kidded" out and don'y have enough patience for my own.

I think the same way. For me the daycare thing was just too overwhelming for me. Too many kids and not enough adults. I dont like to be out numbered I worked in one a long time ago and it was really bad. I am not even sure they followed state guidelines at times.

I can see that side of it too. I am kidded out sometimes and I only watch one or 2 at a time! For me, the flexibilty comes because the people I work for have always let me schedule days off for school stuff (when there is something which is rare) and they give me sick days and vacation too. I just like the freedom to go outside when we want, take little field trips when we want, go swimming in the summer...you know, all the fun stuff!

I work at a preschool 4 hours a day, 4 days a week, and make a little more than that, but I love the flexibility too. Plus I have a wonderful boss who gives us little extras. She pays us overtime when we get busy and have to stay after to finish a craft project. She will pay us for our Breaks (spring and fall) based on what we worked the week before. She is really GOOD to us!

I used to keep kids after school too. I had to give it up because DD was having a hard time sharing ME with 4 other kids. I have developed a lot more patience with my own since I stopped. I know Harley and Dismom are very thankful to have you though. Y'all are lucky to have each other.

I guess I am biased b/c I don't have any kids!!! DH hopes to be able to support us someday where I won't have to watch any one else's kids but my own. But that's MANY car and student loans being paid off away!

I'm going to miss Veteran status...I want to go watch The Sopranos. My uncle flies corporate jets and actually flew the producer of the show a few weeks ago. He told him the ending. I wanted to know so badly but resisted.....all he said was if you have been watching the show the ending is predictable. Hmm.
