The homemade salsa recipe I got from a friend at work- its really good!

2 cans diced tomatoes
1 bunch fresh cilantro
japaleno 2 or 3 fresh
1 tsp salt
1 tsp crushed garlic
1/2 tsp cumin
chopped onion

Put all this in a blender and chop it up. It will keep in the fridge for 2 weeks or you can freeze some for later. You will never know the tomatoes are canned. YUMMY!

Anyway, I was "putting away" bunches of clothes from my closet 'cuz they're just too darn big. THEN I went into the laundry room and was folding things that also needed to be put away in the most recent loads. Came across a pair of DD's stretchy size 22 jeans. Don't know what possessed me, but I tried them on... AND THEY FIT!!!!!!!! Fit fit, not muffin-top fit. I don't like the way they cling to my belly, but with a long Mickey Mouse t-shirt they look pretty darn good :cool2: (but what doesn't look good with a Mickey Mouse t-shirt? ).

The last time I wore jeans was approximately... ohhhh... 18 years ago! :yay:

Are they stretchy jeans? Yeah, but SO WHAT, THEY ARE JEANS! :dance3:
WAAAHOOOO!!!!!!:cool1: :thumbsup2 That is awesome :woohoo:
I agree...I feel bad posting all our stuff here when it is not diet related and alot of people cant go. I dont want anyone to feel left out!
I like see everyone's plans. I do wish I could meet everyone, but I am excited for you guys as well :thumbsup2
I'm in but can only do 9/24so my vote is for that day! :goodvibes

This is a great day!!! DS #1 will turn 13 on this day.

Joshua is doing much better. Still having bad diapers, but they are better. HE has been very clingy and I understand. Before he was sick we could lay him in his bed at naptime or bedtime and he would maybe whine for 1 minute or less and then be off to sleep. Well here lately he has cired and cried when we even mentioned bed. TONIGHT --- he looked so tired and I said tell KK night night--he went up to her and said bye bye and gave her a kiss. Then went to his brother and told him bye bye and gave him a kiss. He looked at me and walked to his room. I put him in his bed and just layed there and curled up and never made a sound. Went straight to sleep. Oh, the moment. Hoepfully we will get to sleep all night since we haven't ina week and he had been sleeping all night since 2 mths.

Keep up the great work everyone. :thumbsup2

Yay to Dene! That is awesome! :cool1:

Don't start a new thread! I like reading about your plans and this way I'm still in the know in case I decide to drive up last minute and meet the peeps. I think I'd feel more left out if you didn't talk about it here.

Could you spare some First Cruise pixie dust? For safe travels and all that good stuff. I always get really nervous right before a vacation, even Disney vacations - and about all sorts of things that could go wrong. Oh and send some to Phoebe too. This is the longest we've ever left her at the Pet hotel. I get so sad thinking about her not having anyone to snuggle with at night. Thanks - I'm leaving Monday!

Gotta finish this darn paper...

I didnt realize you were leaving so soon! I have always wanted to take a cruise. I cant wait to hear all about it and see pictures...and here is some :wizard: for good weather and fun!

I have a bunch of pages to catch up on but I just wanted to check in and say the wedding went well!!

P.S. Now even a card from Ray's parents, sister, grandma or brother. He is VERY hurt about it. Not concerned with getting a gift...just hurt that no one in his immediate family could even be bothered to send a card. :sad1:
Mrs. Eventer, so glad to hear that the wedding went well!!! :bride: But BOO to Ray's family. Is the sister the difficult future SIL you had been mentioning? Hope they come around soon.

Also, I wanted to report in on how my Grandma's funeral went. The service went quite well. The minister said he has never done a funeral for a centenerian before and was honored to do so.

One of my cousins who is close to my age said a few words about Grandma and how much she loved all of her family and how welcoming she always was to everyone who came to visit or who just dropped by with her children or grandchildren. She also read the "Remember Me" poem in the memorial booklet. She did a wonderful job, didn't sound nervous at all. I would have liked to say a few words, but I just tear up too easily. She had asked if I would, but I told her I thought she would do great on behalf of all of us grandkids (she is the oldest) and she did.

At the end of the service, they showed a bunch of photos that another cousin had scanned and that were set to music. Some of them were of Grandma as a girl and young woman that I had somehow never seen before. Very cool. Then there were some in there of Grandpa and their children. Seeing the photos of my mom brought tears to my eyes.

My best friend and her daughter came to the service and sat with me at the dinner afterward, so that was nice. Plus, my daughter had driven up from North Carolina yesterday to be here with/for me and it was fantastic having her home. I think she was a tad homesick and happy to have a reason to come. Pretty much no family drama, so that was good, too.

My youngest sister felt bad that there were no planters left for her to take, so I offered her the azalea that my DH's family sent, but she said no, she'd probably just over or under water it! So, I pulled some of the Gerbera daisies (her favorite) out of the floral arrangement and am taking those to her tomorrow when we meet her for lunch. I also pulled the roses out of the "Grandma arrangement" and am going to make some potpourri out of the petals for some of the granddaughters to have as a keepsake.

Thanks again, everyone, for thinking of me today!

P.S. Forgot to say that I loved seeing the pic from Lynda and Sandy's meet! Thanks for sharing that. You both look great!!!

Anyone have some fun music suggestions for my iPod?

I have a gift card that is suddenly burning a hole in my pocket. I like the music that makes you go "I love this song!!!" and then run onto the dance floor or that just makes you want to start dancing wherever you are when you hear it.

Hi peeps! I hope that everyone is having a nice weekend. Today my husband and I went shopping and out to dinner at Chili's. I budgeted my points and I got the Guiltless Grill chicken sandwhich. It was really good.
While I was shopping at Kohl's I was in the "womens" section. (I can't wait until I can shop on the other side of the store). Anyway, these two stick thin women were walking by me and they stopped next to me to look at a skirt. Then one of them said "This is a nice skirt but it is MUCH too big for me. It is too bad they don't come in a size 4". I was thinking why are you over here? You have the whole rest of the store to shop in! (I hope I don't sound mean when I say that!). It was just kind of frustrating.

On a good note I want to thank Punkin for posting in her trip report that she found some cute Disney shirts at Target. I found a Minnie Mouse::MinnieMo one for $9.99 and it is really cute!:cool1: So, that is going to be put aside to wear on my trip. If anyone is interested I also saw 2 different POTC, and a tinkerbell.

I'm having fun getting to know me, too. :cool2: (I especially had fun last night, but that's a story probably better left untold :rolleyes1 )

no way! you can't leave us hanging like that! i'm curious now. inquiring minds want to know!!!! :scratchin

I like a wide variety of music so I am just going to throw some ideas out off the top of my head:
80's Music is always fun (Bangles, Def Leppard, Gun's and Roses, B52's, Bon Jovi, The Soundtrack from The Wedding Singer)
No Doubt (Just a Girl, Spiderwebs)
Black Eyed Peas (Hey Mama, Let's Get It Started)
Destiny's Child (Jumpin, Jumpin, Independant Women)
Fall Out Boy (Dance Dance, Sugar We're Going Down)
Gym Class Hero's (Cupid's Chokehold)
Kelly Clarkson (Since You've Been Gone)
Avril Levign (sp?) (Girlfriend)
Outkast (Hey Ya)
Pink

I'm forgeting a lot! If I think of more I will PM you!!

anyone with any kind of iteneraries for peep meet sept. please PM with yours and i will with mine.

I know I already spoke to some and am getting some but Im trying to see who else is coming and get head counts and stuff..

and are we in agreement for the magical voage fireworks cruise ill set it up if you like.

What cruise? Eeeeks, I've been busy today and am lost-ish. Is that one of the afore mentioned "perks"? When, where, how much...

I had a lovely candle Open House today...more $$$$ to give the Mouse. My house smells like Coconut Lemongrass...:cloud9:

I have to teach sunday school tomorrow!!! I have 16-17 year old young women. It truly is a great calling. They sure make 16 and 17 year olds differently these days! They know EVERYTHING (wait, I did too!)

BEE- What can we do to help you make plans to ease your burden a little?

Even if you just go with your 2 girls, it will be a break from the real world for a little while. You'll be hob-nobbing with your friends. Just try to keep the cost down, if you can. Glad you booked through AAA. I think you got good deals from what I be-member from your family-outing back in January.

Have a good night peeps!

Hey Peeps~

I am 4 days and like 20 pages behind........it's going to take forever to get caught up.

I wanted to let everyone know that I started a thread on the DIS meets forum for all the meeting info to help us stay organized and to make it easier to find everything. Please post any meet dates and details and I will add them to the first post.

I'll try to catch up a bit, I've been busy and still not feeling 100%.

Another wonderful evening spent with Peep Lynda!! Thanks Lynda for coming to the play with me!! DS had like 7 SOLOs!! (he only messed up one - I was so proud of all he played - usually I cannot hear the bassoon - but he had a microphone, and he sounded good!!)

the play was good too - but I was all about listening to the bassoon!! and I didnt sneeze once - only had one runny nose, and I made it wait until a scene change!! :rotfl2:

Thanks mouseHL for setting up in the "MEETS" thread - anybody can still come over and post - but I appreciate us staying on topic too - :goodvibes Its all good!!

Wonders - RESPECT - get it... get movin... and of course I love the Judds, so I have a couple of those.. but I dont know what else right now, right here...

WAIT, HOLD THE PHONE - Target has MM tshirts that will fit moi??? I've seen Walmart had some cute Tink and MM ones (got them for dd, $5.97 in the women's section, XS fits her child size 8-10, their XXL wont fit me!!)

Also, I wanted to report in on how my Grandma's funeral went. The service went quite well. [/B]

It sounds like a beautiful service, and you are so sweet to look out for the others in your family. the potpourri is a nice idea. glad you got to see your DD.

After DH was a pooh: head on our trip, he made me so happy today. We looked at hot tubs and he said we could go ahead and put down a deposit on the one I like.:yay: . I  that man!

GOOD SUNDAY MORNING, PEEPS! :sunny:

NONI....I didn't quote you but thanks for starting the thread for the meet. I'm on my way to look for it.
Went straight to sleep. Oh, the moment.
Hope you're still asleep, Heather. Glad your little man is feeling better.
Could you spare some First Cruise pixie dust? For safe travels and all that good stuff.
I'll pray that the angels will fly right along beside you. That's what I do when we travel. I'm a nervous traveler too. Don't worry! Have a blast!!! DH and I went on a cruise for our honeymoon and it was great. Lotsa food! :scared:

RE: Ipod music....DD has added a lot of Disney soundtracks to her Ipod and plays them more often than anything. I like disco and funk always make me wanna dance....the kind that Ellen plays on her show. I heard her play Le Freak one day last week. Think Rick James, Parliment, Midnight Star, etc. (Do you need specific song titles?) Also 80's music like the B52's, English Beat, Squeeze, UB40, etc. For more easy listening I like Coldplay (saw them in concert last year...AWESOME!) and Elvis Costello. I also like the Garden State soundtrack. Can't go wrong with oldies like Low Rider, Magic Carpet Ride, Brown Eyed Girl, anything by the Doors, a little Zepplin, etc. DD has a CD by Nelly McKay that I really like and oh and Regina Spektor. Nice to have a well rounded selection.
Thanks again, everyone, for thinking of me today!
Glad the funeral went well. What a blessing and a testiment to her life. I'm a cryer too so I know what you mean about not speaking at the service. Nice of you to share flowers with the others so they will have a keepsake too.
We looked at hot tubs and he said we could go ahead and put down a deposit on the one I like. :yay: . I  that man!
Can't live with em, can't live without em. Glad he redeemed himself. :thumbsup2 Congrats on the hot tub. I'll be right over.

HAVE A BLESSED SUNDAY, ONE AND ALL!!!
:flower3:

:rotfl:
It's an English Christmas tradition, it's a comedy show normally based on a fairy tale (Ellie was in Aladdin) it's aimed at families and it has lots of audience participation ie boo, hiss for the baddies, he's behind you, oh no he doesn't/oh yes he does. Normally they are great fun and big TV stars play roles. There is always a man dressed as a dame, lots of singing and dancing too, basically good clean family fun :thumbsup2

THis sounds like a ton of fun! I wish we did something like that here!

I have used this technique several times and it works like a charm each & every time. I love it. :thumbsup2

AUnt flo was due to visit me until April 9 or 10 and she came on April 1 ~ the first day of vaca!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:
I have a bunch of pages to catch up on but I just wanted to check in and say the wedding went well!! I feel like I have a hangover today even though all I drank was pop and water!!! :rotfl: Ray is returning the tux now and then I think we are going to catch up on 24 when he gets home. I am going to skip weigh in this week!! I hope the wedding counts as a pass!! I'll post more later! :goodvibes

P.S. Now even a card from Ray's parents, sister, grandma or brother. He is VERY hurt about it. Not concerned with getting a gift...just hurt that no one in his immediate family could even be bothered to send a card. :sad1:

COngrats! I'm glad the wedding went well and so sorry that his family were such :eeyore: :eeyore: :eeyore: to hurt the two of you like that!

Wedding days absolutely get you a free pass!

I'm sure you were beautiful. Can't wait to see pictures of the happy couple.:bride: :groom:
I feel the same way!!! Everyone else I know just loves her but she drives me nutts.

We need to see pictures!! I'm glad everything went well!

My DD(13) loves Rachel Ray (she always calls her Miss Rachel Ray:rotfl: DD(13) loves to cook and if she tries something new and I tell her that it is a neat idea, she replies "thanks, Miss Rachel Ray taught me to do that). The rest of the family doesn't care for her. When she started being a spokesperson for Kraft and her picture was on all those boxes of food, my DD(11) got out the black sharpie and either crossed her out completely or drew mustaches and horns on all her pictures!:rotfl2:
Wow! I'm amazed that I didn't have more pages to catch up on from last night! Not that I'm complaining. :)

Well folks, I met Sandy and her son and her son's friend for dinner last night at Perkin's. (Yes, I was good. Sorry no totals the past couple of days. All this Sept trip stuff has been keeping me so busy! I will do better!) Anywho, what fun we had! We went to a bar after dinner. (I had 1 beer.) And Sandy came over to my house. We looked at scrapbook stuff and talked about the upcoming meet. She got to meet Oliver, Jasper, and DH, and I showed her around the house a bit. (OMG Sandy! I forgot to show you the collectible room!:sad2: ) She stayed at our house since it was a little roomier than her son's  and he was working. Tonight I am meeting her to go see the U of I production of My Fair Lady. (Her other son is in the pit orchestra for it. Right, Sandy?) Yes, I had DH take a picture. (Did you think I forgot?;))

Anyway, it was a late night, and I have Oliver on one side of me now and Jasper on the other, so I am going to give them some attention, go get ready and pick up mine and DH's rings at the jewelers (They were being replated.). And then I might get some rest before the show tonight. I'll try to check back in later. :) :wave2:

Great picture, Glad you both had fun! Hope the musical was fun to! I love My Fair Lady!

Okay, I'm actually inspired to clean my house (trust me, that doesn't happen often). And I mean, REALLY clean it... so I can have company clean. (Odd that losing weight makes me want to clean my house AND be a girly girl.)

:yay:

GOOD SUNDAY MORNING, PEEPS! :sunny:

Hope you're still asleep, Heather. Glad your little man is feeling better.

HAVE A BLESSED SUNDAY, ONE AND ALL!!!
:flower3:

It was a quick event. He was up again at 12:30 - 1:15 throwing up and now his bottom end is totally messed up again. We are calling the Dr. again today--this has been going on for 10 days. Everyone else was better in 24 hours. We are beginning to wonder if he has something else. I was wracking my brian last night at 2:30 after I had change his diaper again and remembered for 2 weeks prior to him getting sick he would like to go to the cat's room. He would dip his pacifier in the water bowl and at times we caught him drinking from the bowl. We could not close the door or the cat would have gone on our carpet. I am wondering if he has like a parasite or something. I am sure that they are going to want a sample for a culture--that will not be a problem. This has just gone on for to long and I am just very tired. Thanks for letting me vent.

Lynda... hey girl, all your talk of your exercise ball inspired me to go buy my own a couple of days ago!

I was cracking up the whole time I was filling it with air :rolleyes1 then I sat on it to eat, watch tv, DIS... doing ab work as I'm typing right now :rotfl:

DD  it! She hopped on when she got in from college last night was on it when I got home this morning at 3:30.

Okay, I'm actually inspired to clean my house (trust me, that doesn't happen often). And I mean, REALLY clean it... so I can have company clean. (Odd that losing weight makes me want to clean my house AND be a girly girl.)

Baby steps, Dance... baby steps. :thumbsup2 Besides, mine is so bad (as in, if I had cats, I'd be a weird cat lady bad) I think I'll be burning calories for quite a while.:rotfl:

I'm having fun getting to know me, too. :cool2: (I especially had fun last night, but that's a story probably better left untold :rolleyes1 )
