No calories on Easter. ;)

i should've been smart and saved my cheat day for today! but no....i had to do that friday! see, if i lose more than 1 pound then i allow myself a day where i don't count calories and i did that on friday.

i'm actually doing okay right now. i'm at 1192 for today. but i have a feeling that chess pie is going to put me over my 1500 limit and then i'll have to go to bed with no snack!!!! i cannot live without my after dinner snack......oh, the horror!!! :scared:

Have a piece of fruit for your after-dinner snack. Would that tide you over? Do you stop eating 2 hours before bed?? I didn't think I could do it but I really think it works...even if my tummy isn't too happy with me! ;)

i cannot live without my after dinner snack......oh, the horror!!! :scared:
Did you see my edit? I got that info here. It looks like about what I put in my chess pie...only I don't cut mine in 8 pieces. Heh, heh. More like 5.

Oh....and I keep Dove Dark Chocolates in the drawer of my bedside table....just in case. 42 calories each.

um.....does anyone know the calorie count for a very, very small sliver of chess pie??? :rolleyes1

i can't find it at calorieking.com. any ideas?
Hmmm. I havent a clue what chess pie is. Could you try looking up the ingredients? I would just have it and enjoy it. It is a special day.

I got one snide jab from her today. DF bowled a 300 last month and got a free ring b/c of it. Nice ring but he agrees it is too tacky to wear to the wedding. It is sorta like a high school ring. Anyway, SIL asked if he was wearing it to the wedding and I said no but he's wearing it at the rehearsal. Then she said in her sweet, but EXTREMELY condescending voice, "Don't you think he has earned the right to wear it whenever he wants?" Um I hate her. I know it sounds so petty but if you could only hear the tone she takes with me. I just ignore her.

Yeppers...Friday is the big day. We have dealt with so much crap from the future in-laws that I haven't had time to get nervous. It really hasn't even sunk in yet..I bet by Thursday things will change!!! :scared1: I should have told SIL today when she made the ring comment that Ray not wearing it was one of my rules. Hmm.

I did ok on resisting the candy. Just ok. Had 2 cookies and 4 small pieces of chocolate. Better then I usually would have done. I figure this week and next will be off for me b/c of the wedding and all that delicious food! BUT..I do have the week off so if it warms up a bit I hope to get back to walking!! How did everyone else do on resisting the treats??
I had half a bag of jelly beans but no chocolate but I had more chicken and rice than I should have for dinner and there is a carvel bunny cake in the freezer but I cant even think about eating any right now even though the kids are begging for it.

How awful! We really enjoy this preacher, and DH decided to join. I'm not too picky, but I will voice my opinion if I'm not crazy about a place. DH said he feels comfortable there, so we'll give it a whirl. I refuse to get too involved, I mean, I want to have friends and fellowship, but dang, none of that political mess, thankyouverymuch.

Today hasn't been a great eating day, not eating on a regular schedule, and had french toast (at least I did SF syrup) for lunch.

No idea what's for dinner. Probably salmon and a salad to make up for today's boo-boos.
I am glad you found a nice church. I hope we will too. I like the onesome of my family goes to but it is in New Hampshire an hour from here. We need a local one.
Sounds like you did really well with the diet today!

My friend from Boston laughs and calls chess pie "sugar pie". He says "In New England we can afford to put berries in our pie."

I make a really yummy apple pie and pretty good pumpkin pie but chess pie is a new one. We tried Shoo Fly pie in PA but I didnt like it. It was like sugar in a pie crust. I wonder if it is similar. I am off to check it out.

There was some cheesecake at the in-laws today...I resisted that. Then saw 4 of those dreaded Cadbury Mini Eggs on the cookie plate. 4 is better then the whole bag I ate in 3 days last month! lol

Thanks for the welcomes! I've known you all about 10 hours and i like you already. Whoever made that bunny cake gets major kudos! It's amazing! Was the mold from William's Sonoma?

The first one looks like the one I make except without the cornmeal. And, yes.....sugar in a pie crust. ;)

Gotta get the kid in the tub....school again tomorrow.....uggggg.

Have a good evening, everyone!
Num num:lmao:
I wasnt enthused with grits at first either but now I eat em with cheese or butter and sugar. DH justhas butter. He teases me about the sugar. But then he is a southern boy. If we lived where he grew up I would be fatter for sure.

I am making an attempt to read backwards, and all I saw was a quote about SHAG and I had to post immediately. I absolutely LOVE that movie. I am pretty sure I have it memorized. In fact, did you know there are 2 versions out there? One has some different songs and a few other things that are different. I went as far as to learn how to Shag on a trip to Myrtle Beach on a spring break many moons ago. I was definitely "Pudge". I really identified with her the most.

I didn't know there are two versions, but that is interesing! I definitely identified with Pudge. I was the pompette in high school. (dance team for those who doen't know) And I want to learn to do that dance to this day! DH and I went to a dance class when we were engaged, where we learned waltz, fox trot, rumba, and swing. I  rumba and especially swing!

Thanks Lynda - I guess I am so frustrated cause I can find the longer shorts for casual wear, but workout shorts are daisy dukes on me and I cant find any decent workout shorts! I like the thin material that wicks moisture (cause I really sweat alot) and cotton stretches so bad and takes for-ever to dry...but I have a gift card to old navy - so I'll try it, I usually only buy shirts there, cause I have a fairly small waist, compared to my fairly large booty(getto booty I've been told) and old navy usually caters their clothes to those less curvaceous than I...or either I am above ordinary on the curves:rotfl:

ATTENTION PEEPS!!!! Look at my new siggie!!! YAY!!!!:cool1:

Oh, I didn't realize you were tlaking about work out shorts! I need some of those too! I also want a capri version. When it gets hot here, I don't want to pass out while I'm walking Jasper! Let me know what you find. Ya know, my Old Navy jeans tend to get big in the waist before they get big in the booty too! You are not alone! ;)

Her name was Caroline in the movie.

Thank you! I remember the scene now! You know, on the beach, with the questions? Love that movie! :goodvibes Gonna have to watch it later this week!

Shag? I've never heard of it. I MUST rent it!

Shorts are hard. Either Grandma shorts up to your ribcage or slutty shorts. Once in a while, I've had luck buying guys shorts. Also in Utah, dressing modestly is expected so there's tons of stores that cater to that. I can send you a link if anyone wants it.

Modest is the Hottest!

You MUST rent it Wendy! You will  it!

"Modest is the Hottest!" - :rotfl2: Love it!

Wanna see my bunny cake? I am a bit proud of this because I wasnt sure I could pull it off. The bunny is actually 2 halves being held together with chocolate buttercream. The bow is fabric in case you cant tell, and the eggs are cadbury mini eggs My favorite :cloud9: I am not sure I am going to be able to cut this one, I may have to make somebody else do it!

bunnycake.jpg

That is sooooooo cute!!! :thumbsup2

yes, you must! it came out in the late '80's or early '90's, i think. so you'll probably only be able to find a VHS version in the movie rental store. the only two people i know that are in it are bridget fonda and phoebe cates. SUCH a good movie! you'd love it!

I have it on DVD! ;) I think I either got it at Best Buy or Amazon. Don't remember. Pudge is played by Annabeth Gish, and Luanne is played by Page Hannah, Daryl Hannah's sister.

Happy Easter Peeps!!!!

So beautiful! princess:

OK, DH made our Easter dinner, and it was gooooooood! Hope I didn't do too much damage! I will be riding the exercise bike later though. ;) He made BBQ ribs, mac and cheese, and fries (baked in the crisper). And for dessert, a Mrs. Smith's apple cobbler w/Cinnabon cinnamon. Oh my! Anyway, I didn't stuff myself, I did 40 minutes on the bike yesterday, and I will repeat that today. I am really gonna amp up the exercise this week!

I also forgot to post yesterday's totals, so...

B: oatmeal & light Activia yogurt (230)
L: half a Quesadilla Explosion salad from Chili's (700)
D: Mickey D's grilled chicken snack wrap w/ranch & apple dippers (375)
S: lemon zest luna bar (190)
S: Dove dark chocolate square (42)

TOTAL: 1537 calories & only about 64 oz. of water, I think! OOPS!
40 minutes on the exercise bike :thumbsup2

i try not to eat for 2 hours before i go to bed...but i never go to bed at the same time because i never have to get up at the same time. i have a weird work schedule. although this week it's the same every day because i'll be doing a jury trial alllllllllllllll week......blah! it's for a courthourse shooting that occurred here back in august. the shooter is dead (he got a taste of his own medicine), but the other three inmates that are alleged to have helped him distract the officer from whom he got the gun are on trial. should be an interesting week!

awesome! thanks! wow...that's not as bad as i expected. i literally only ate a 1/2 piece (if that - my MIL was making fun of me) so i'm putting down 180 calories. so that brings my total to 1372. i'm going to have a snack, y'all! :woohoo:
