Congratulations Dene! I'm so excited for you!

Do you want to borrow my teenage stylist? She is really good- She gave me a make over yesterday. I got some cute clothes and I let her get a hold of my hair- she said I should "tame the mane" - its not the 80's mom :rotfl2: I didnt let her do the makeup though- not ready to go there yet.

eeyore: Again thanks so much. I felt the hug coming my way. And for the "f" word- its GONE!! I may not be 95# or 150# but I'm alot of fun. Hey! maybe that can be my new "F" word!!

aldisneygirl- Maybe I'll clean off my gazelle:banana: It currently lives in my bedroom as a clothes rack. A very expensive clothes rack.

Well, got to run to wally world - stocking up on ME food- Then I'm off to the gym! :woohoo:

I just gave my Gazelle a workout. I did 3.1 miles (the distance for the fun run) in 44 minutes! :yay: :woohoo: The little golf cart would not have to come pick me up because I didn't keep up with a 15 min/mile pace! :rotfl: :rotfl2: My legs are "pulsing" though. Guess that means my blood is really pumping. My heart rate was 200 when I got off though. I think that is too high for my age. Going to check now.

Dene - You look AWESOME!!!! I kept forgetting to say that. :headache: Your hard work is really showing. As everyone else said, you can really tell it in your face, and what a pretty face it is.

If anyone sees a good deal for next Jan. please let me know. That is the only way I will be able to join you. Eeyore, which board do you go to to find the good deals?

Gooooooooood Mooooooorning peeeeeeeeps!

The weather finally looks nice over here and they are predicting a high of 68!

The snow is all melted. Yippee!!!!

Taking the little peeps for a walk.

See Ya!

Nice coat rack, Sparkie!

I WISH today was weigh day!!!! ((hint hint))
I have been one the best diet for two days!

Maybe you've heard of it? The Strep Throat diet?
It ROCKS!

:rotfl2:

Well, If I can go even more into the pretty numbers, you (across the nation) will hear my woo hooty!

I know Friday is the traditional Peep weigh-in. But I just HAVE to share.

Got up this morning and weighed. Disappointed is too nice a word. I was "ticked" 'cause I was .2 from a major goal!

I thought to myself, what would Peeps do? So I went to the gym, did an hour long Cardio Inferno, and hour long Power Yoga, then I went home and weighed again. Lost that .2 plus another .4! So, I met my goal for the week!

Ladies (and gents), drumroll please... :rockband:

I not only have lost 50 lbs... I now weigh less than I have in 18 years! And my Peeps are a very important part of my success. Thank you all for your support!

Now let's party! :dance3: party: :jumping1: :rainbow: :dancer:

WOW~! good for you Dene..you are an inspiration..i HOPE I can one day report results like that!

Bee..yay for joining the Y...thats a BIG step :)

Do you guys have a "My Girlfriend's Kitchen?" (google if you dont have a clue- it's SAFE ;) )

See, you pay a fee and go prepare your dinners to freeze at home. I thought it sounded like a cool date idea for me and the mister. I signed us up for Thursday night! Yay! It's great for big families. So you prepare once and your all set! I just gave myself a huge raise on convienience and time!

See how your in my thoughts? I thought I'd share the idea with yous!!!!!

They look healthy and semi-low fat!

There is a place here with a similar concept. I haven't tried it yet, but am thinking about doing that. With just DH & I home, it would be nice to have quick, easy meals! :thumbsup2

Hi again,

I just checked and the christening pictures were posted so I got to see my cookie picture. Here they are:

Adorable cookies!!! :cutie: I bet they tasted as good as they look! Such talent you have!

Guess what! I went to the YMCA yesterday and today. Today I learned about the machines. I am going to try to work out 5-7 days a week in some way.. I am going to do upper body due to back still healing and I am going to do water aerobics.

I believe Dawn is still trying to get well.. I will send your love to her. I know you are all great people and want to send prayers.. I will pass that along.

Love all y'all!!

Bee...Good for you for getting to the Y! :yay: You'll be a Skinny Minnie before you know it! Also, please let Dawn know we miss her and hope she is better soon!

UMama - Hope the antibiotics help your throat, and don't mess up other things. :rolleyes1 The Strep Throat diet is the worst! It hurts just to swallow your own spit! :sad2: Hope you get to feeling better. Do you still keep your daycare babies when you're sick? If you do, hope you're getting some help.

OMGarsh Dene!!! Good for you!! WOOOO HOOOOOTY! You rock!

BTW
I haven't booked my trip yet because I need some expert advice. So here goes.
Should I get the Water Parks and More options? We will be going in December and I didn't know if many people hit the water parks that time of year. The difference in price is less than $150. If I don't pay for this option now, can I add it when we get there? Thanks in advance. Have a good day.

I have been there twice in December, and while DH and I found it quite pleasant compared to the temps here in Illinois (It was in the 60's and 70's at WDW during our December trips. It was about 10 at home!), we didn't hit the water parks. We are going to on this next trip in May though.

Also, I do think you can add it on when you get there.

Nice coat rack, Sparkie!

Hope the strep is getting better! I used to get it every year, but it stopped a few years ago following a severe case that actually became a peritonsilar abcess. (I was hospitalized for 3 days!:scared1: ) But I haven't had strep since then! Anywho, I hope it gets better fast! And I hope you see a VERY pretty number on Friday!

I am really hoping to report a pretty number on Friday, and I am wanting to weigh, but I am nervous to do so early. What if it goes back up before weigh in day? I will NOT be happy if that happens!

Hey Peeps, signing on here breaking the rules to let my Peeps know that I got the test results back, my thyroid is goofed up and whatever test they did came back abnormal. I go Monday to discuss medication and options and what it all means...I'm a little spooked right now because I have been reading and the scary things always stick in your brain, so I will try to not panic til I really get to know what I am dealing with. It's not gonna help to worry anyways and I do feel a little better that I know its something

Dene - so glad you got to report to the hunky trainer. ..I too enjoyed some eyecandy last night, I have a favorite row of ellipticals that I like to use because it puts me right at this certain machine that provides a very nice view ;) I notice that alot of the guys at the gym are wearing long sleeves and I couldn't help but think - when is the gun show? popcorn:: :woohoo:

Bee - dearheart we respectfully refuse your request to contain our enthusiasm, we will however continue to cheer you in the right direction:cheer2: you rock girlfriend!! Baby steps, you can do it and when you get where you want to be we will be right there with you to congratulate you:grouphug:

UM this is for you, I saw it when hubby and i went out to dinner and I whipped out my phone and took the pick and said UM needs this!

glad you are feeling better UM love ya !:cloud9: will post my picture with Daizie and her sweater for you today..
my kids go off track today for 3 weeks (not looking forward to this at least it is warmer they can go outside and play at least.. well gotta run i promised DH i would do laundry all day :laundy: might be back later tonight :grouphug:

I know you've been avoiding fried foods, sweets, etc., but do you have some favorite foods that you feel help with the weight loss? Or is it pretty much the exercise?

This is what hunky trainer and I have come up with for me... YMMV...
1. I exercise daily... not always strenuous... a walk in the park is exercise.
2. I drink an average of 1.5 gallons of water a day... no sodas/colas, no coffee, no alcohol (but those are personal preference anyway).
3. Fat-free or reduced fat dairy products. Fat-free cottage cheese and skim milk... feta and fresh mozarella have 1/3 less calories than cheddar.
4. No beef or pork. I eat turkey, chicken, and fish. I eat ground turkey instead of ground beef. For fish I prefer tuna steaks and salmon fillets. And I also eat eggs and reduced-fat peanut butter.
5. My pans don't require oil.
6. Fruits and carbs are mostly consumed earlier in the day... afternoon snack is a protein or nuts... dinner is protein and veggies or salad. (I eat 5 times a day now.)
7. Salads get a quick spray of extra virgin olive oil (usually) and a sprinkle of whatever vinegar I'm in the mood for (balsamic, salad, red wine). Sometimes I skip the oil (I have a cool sprayer from Bed, Bath, and Beyond)
8. Whole grain breads and cereals (when I eat them).
9. As little salt as possible... there is salt in Emeril's Essence that I use... but I don't use a salt shaker for anything.
10. Almost everything I eat is "fresh"... don't eat canned stuff or prepackaged anything (okay, I'm a realist, I know everybody can't do this... specially with kiddos). Dinner usually takes 10-20 minutes to fix... longer if I'm using the rotisserie for my chicken breast, but that's automatic... no maintenance/turning, etc required.

You know, I am the only one who gained this weight overnight..:rotfl2: . I want to see results overnight also!:thumbsup2

Hunky trainer asked what my biggest hurdle was yesterday... IMPATIENCE!

Bee, I hope you enjoy your Y as much as I enjoy mine... there's really a "good" feeling about the place. Much success and happiness to you.

I just might have to try our local Y again... I'd love to have a cute trainer! :rolleyes1
I think I need to get me a hunky trainer dude too :cool1:

It definitely helps in the motivation department... I think I go more often and stay longer just so I can watch him... :rolleyes1

Now all the young'uns want straight hair that lays there all nice and serene... my 80's hair I worked hard to get it to stick up and be "wild"... that is when I didn't have it like Chrissy on Three's Company... :rolleyes1

I WISH today was weigh day!!!! ((hint hint))
I have been one the best diet for two days!

Maybe you've heard of it? The Strep Throat diet?
It ROCKS!

OUCH!

Dene... You are getting healthier...

Confirmed by my new doctor this morning! Blood test results won't be back for a couple of days, but my blood pressure was 122 over 80!!:yay:

Hey Peeps, signing on here breaking the rules to let my Peeps know that I got the test results back, my thyroid is goofed up and whatever test they did came back abnormal. Having a diagnosis... even if it isn't your favorite diagnosis is better than not knowing. Hope this is something that is easily fixed AND makes you feel tons better when it is fixed...

Treadmill/elliptical choices... better tv channels or better view of the free weights where most the guys are... hmmmmm, which do you think I choose? :rolleyes1

A couple of weeks ago I had an allergic reaction to something I ate... either some fish or the seasoning I put on it. Several Peeps expressed concern and wanted me to tell the doctor. Doctor seemed to think it was probably the seasoning... and he didn't seemed too worried until I said my tongue had swollen... so he told me to carry benedryl with me and gave me a prescription for an epipen for emergencies.

Need some Peep advice... if any is available.

This person has this stuff they claim is "wonderful... full of antioxidants and phytonutrients". All I hear is a sales pitch... and I HATE to be "sold" anything. Love to shop... hate to be sold something.

Anyway, anybody heard of or tried this stuff? Don't want to waste any time or money if it doesn't work... don't want to blow it off 'cause I didn't like the sales guy if it does work.

If anyone sees a good deal for next Jan. please let me know. That is the only way I will be able to join you. Eeyore, which board do you go to to find the good deals?

I'm not eeyore of course, but I think she was referring to the codes and rates board on the dis. They are usually pretty fast to post any codes that come out over there. I am going to need a roomate and a deal to go in Jan, but I really want to go!

It was a beautiful day... had rained a little earlier. Cleared up nicely... rode with the car window down. Go home... eat lunch... check on peeps... hear the bulldozers on my street outside. Wait, that isn't the bulldozer, that's thunder. Cool... it's raining... hard. Several minutes later... IT'S RAINING AND MY WINDOW IS STILL DOWN! Run out in the rain barefoot with a couple of towels and the keys to roll it up. Get it dried up... come in... within a few minutes the rain stops.

At least it was the back window and not the front.

Hope I can get through the mudpit they are currently calling my street... gotta go to the gym! :yay:

Hi all....just struggling along here trying to eat well.....keep reading your inspirational posts....Just wanted to stop in and say hello.

I have read through but why can't I ever remember to quote??I can't go back but wanted to post how much this thread helps me.Today has been hard (kids need to go in four different diections, one has a mild concussion,no "real" time for exercise, five kids that have been trying to kill each other, house is a MESS,etc) and I really want to eat everything I can get my hands on but I came here first. The last few days I have been wanting to give up with the excuse that I am too busy.I am realistically at an okay weight but I am not happy.Maybe it has something to do with this belly that falls over my pants.:scared:
Anyway the only thing that has kept me from a huge binge is Friday's weigh in.I think I have to reevaluate my plan of action though.A walk around the soccer fields instead of going to the gym, etc. Thanks for listening.
I forgot to say,Get well soon UM!Take care of yourself.
Harley, thanks for being so supportive lately.:grouphug: I don't say that enough.

Bee,It is great that you have joined the Y.Exercise can be a great stress buster.

Dene!!You ROCK!!Everything you are doing is very inspirational(sp).

Well I have to go figure out something about supper. We are leaving at 4:30 and won't be back home until about 9:00.:sad2: Soory for the typos,no time to edit.
