It's not midnight here yet, so Happy Birthday Melinda.
I got the age right, didn't I?
She'll be working at Great America. It's in Santa Clara. Here's the website if anyone's curious.
http://www2.cedarfair.com/greatamerica/index.cfm She's almost 17. I worked their when I was a teenager too, but only as a cashier. I'm very proud of her.
I'm glad things are back to normal.
Love all the cute family pictures. For you moms with a child who's engaged, I recommend sending your child and their fiance(e) on an Engaged Encounter. It is a retreat for couples planning to get married, and gives them a chance to focus on their plans and dreams for the future, not just wedding day plans. DH and I volunteer for the Catholic ministry, but I know other churches have this too. We paid for our nieces to go before each of them got married, and they both said it was the best wedding present.
Dawn, love the Simon LeBon story. I will admit that Simon was better looking than Bowie in the '80's, but to me, Bowie's voice is like melted dark chocolate. DS and I went to see him last year at DS' request, and it was an awesome experience.
Oh, that reminded me. DH gave me the most romantic birthday present. Our wedding was on a budget, and our dance music was a reel to reel my then BIL recorded of songs we chose (including a couple of Bowie songs; no Duran Duran). We had a copy of the music on cassette, then CD, but it was flawed and the sound would fade in and out. For my b-day, DH bought all of the songs and burned them onto cds and played them in the car while we were on the way to Reno. I

that man.
