re 6wkBodyMakeover - you must know its mostly a restrictive eating plan - restrictive in no condiments (no salt, sugar, ketchup, mayo - which we know are problems!!) mainly eating fish, and more fish... some chicken, and depending on your body type (most women are not a body type that can eat red meat - body builder types have the red meat) mostly fish... a lot of science in the exercise plan - the heart rate must stay at a certain level for weight loss, which is really low - and if you look at most treadmills at a gym there is a post on where the heart rate is lower for weight loss compared to cardio - now the Biggest Loser is sweat it out!!

We are fine. It got really scary for a minute. I live off 20/59 and there was a suspected rotation at Abernant/Bucksville- my exit. But all is well. No damage and everybody is safe. Our school let out at noon today so my kids were home and safe. Lets all pray for the families in Enterprise, AL. A school was hit with fatalities.

I got on here to check on all of you as well. I hope all of you were as fortunate.

punkin- Welcome. Hang in there. I have to keep telling myself that I didnt gain weight overnight and its not going to come off overnight either. But Im like you - I REALLY want 40 pounds to just drop off and be gone. You are on the right track with exercise. And what a plus to have a trainer to keep you motivated. Im not much on supplements and such- I have tried diet pills- and as you can see Im right back where I started. It really is a lifestyle change. But change is always hard. WeightWatchers is a sound program-Nutrisystem is expensive IMO. Im just counting calories- 1200 per day and try for less than 30 gm fat per day which is hard with my fast food addiction. So keep up the good work.:cheer2:

Michael Thurmonds program - remember the Extreme Makeovers? hes the trainer they used - I have this program and you answer lots of questions regarding your body and eating patterns etc...then you customize an eating plan and exercise plan for your body type...its like a very restricted phase I of SB ...for my body type....very few carbs on the rapid wt loss plan, left me feeling like I was very sick...

sample day -
b- egg whites and blueberries
s - 1/2 c grns 3 oz protein(turkey, chicken, fish)
l - 1/2 potato or 1/2 c rice small portion of protein

thats the gist of it...my mom lost lots of weight on it - but it was to hard for me to stick to - i'm a wimp

Okay...so I have honestly been typing for 2 hours. I keep posting and it deletes at the end! So I will not be funny...but will let ya know...I am alive...I am about to take out my own stitches due to the fact Dr's can't get in and only the E.R. is open all day.

I am on a mission to lose 100 pounds before Aug. 23rd...my 36th B-day. Please pray...and hope...and wish...and look at me cross-eyed so I look good!

I will catch you up to speed tomm.

Calorie intake will be 1400 starting tomm. I will eat snow if I have to to keep me away from the Devil and his pepperoni pizza!

Spiral Ct tomm. again for my Kidneys. Same old..same old....except I got my belly pierced! Okay so I didn't but only because they were out of Harpoon studs.

I will in August...just for me...okay and maybe that special guy...my love...my heartbeat...my stud in red....Mickey. :laughing: But only if he lets me squeeze his tail!
 
does anyone know of a book or website where i can get a list of common foods and the calories/carbs/proteins/fats in each? i'm starting this food journal thing on saturday and i want to keep a list with me for easy reference. i looked at borders.com for a book, but didn't see anything.

okay.....i need advice and i figured this is the place to get it!

i'm 30 years old. i'm 5'3" and i weigh about 160 (eeekkkk!!!!!!!! that's a hard one to be honest about!). i work out 3-4 times a week with a mix of weights and cardio. my best friend is a fitness trainer, so she really helps me with my workouts and i enjoy them - it's the hour out of the day that i can just think of nothing but getting through this workout - no work, no family, no drama, no finances, nothing. i eat healthy, not cutting out carbs completely but trying to do the "good carb" thing with whole wheat everything and lots of lean meat, fruits, veggies. i'm not too stressed out with my life, i love my job and i have a wonderful marriage.

so how come i can't get into the shape i want to??? :confused3

i began using a fat burner (lipo 6) on the advice of my fitness trainer friend at the beginning of january. that was 2 months ago. now i don't expect to drop 6 sizes in that amount of time, but i just took an updated bathing suit picture to see how i'm doing and i'm not noticing ANY difference! it's so frustrating and discouraging.

i've always had a big butt and thick legs. it's in my genes. i know i can't get away from it. so i KNOW i'll never be a size 4. my goal is to get down to 130, although i don't want to concentrate too much on my weight because i do work out a lot and i know i'm building muscle, which accounts for a good bit of that weight.

i'm thinking of trying out a diet, but i have no idea where to start. i've never done anything like weight watchers or nutrisystem.....just kind of winged it on my own.

any advice????????

happy anniversary!!!!!!!! ours is actually april 13th. but we're not going in april because we're scared of the spring break crowds! :eek: so we postponed our "celebration" about 3 weeks.

once a peach always a peach! I have family in Birmingham, and Lake Martin are you near there? My parents hailed from a podunk town near Talledega...so my DH blames any imperfections I might have(tho they are few) on my Ala. heritage:confused3 :hippie:
