Uggghhh!! I am so tired I can barely keep my eyes open. All the caffein I have had is not helping at all. I think I have become immune to it.:sad2:

We are swamped at work today which I do not understand. Why aren't these people on vacation? Thankfully all of the government worker bees were given a 2hr early release so that will be a few out of my hair for the rest of the day.

Congrats to everyone who lost this week. I forgot to weigh this morning and honestly, I am glad I didn't. I am sure it is not good news. The foodpushers were out in full force this week and I am weak.:scared:

Dawn, thanks for the picture advice. I will pray for your neighbor as well. I can not imagine going through that at all but to have to face the unknown during the holidays makes it all the more difficult.

Sorry for the lousy post but I have to go to a lunch meeting. Why do they do this to us...?

Well I'm +2

Now I'm right back where I started at the beginning of the Christmas challenge. I have not been exercising as I'm still not feeling well since I caught that cold 3 weeks ago. And if there is chocolate within a 10 mile radius, I'm managing to locate it and pop it in my mouth. Today, after getting on that scale, I'm resolved to get back on track and lose these 3 lbs before WDW on 01/13. Otherwise, I will hate myself.

Today is our big xmas party at work. My staff takes care of all the prep and it's a big shindig for all of the production employees. Every production employee gets a bonus, a gift pack of food, a grocery gift certificate for their Christmas dinner, a check for their unusued sick leave and a present of some sort. Usually it's a jacket or a fleece pullover or something. Plus we have about 40 raffle prizes that had to be purchased and wrapped to give away. There are 200 employees attending today so it's a lot of work to put these "packages" together, plus handle all of the catering, etc. My staff has been wrapping presents for 2 weeks here. I'll be so glad when it's done.

You have to have lots of will power and mental fortitude to do this one. I was watching the clock waiting for my dinner the other day. I used low fat, light or reduced calorie everything though so that may be part of the problem.

Here's the scoop: Diet works on chemical breakdown and it works. Do not vary or substitute any of the foods. You may use salt and pepper but no other seasoning or sweetners. Where no quanitity is given, there are no restrictions other than common sense. This plan is to be used for 3 days at a time. After teh third day, eat normally (with in reason) and restart the plan again after 4 days. It is possible to lose 10lbs a week, most people lose about 5 though. No snacking between meals!

Day 1

B- 1/2 grapefruit, 1 slice of toast with peanut butter and coffee or tea
L- 1/2 cup tuna, 1 slice of toast, coffee or tea
D- 3oz any meat, 1 cup green beans, 1 cup beets, 1 small apple, 1 cup vanilla ice cream :thumbsup2

Day 2

B- 1 egg, 1/2 banana, 1 slice toast, coffee or tea
L- 1 cup cottage cheese, 5 saltine crackers
D- 2 hot dogs, 1 cup broccoli, 1/2 cup carrots, 1/2 banana, 1/2 cup vanilla ice cream

Day 3

B- 5 saltine crackers, 1 slice cheddar cheese, 1 small apple, coffee or tea
L- 1 boiled egg, 1 slice toast
D- 1 cup tuna, 1 cup beets, 1 cup cauliflower, 1/2 cantaloupe, 1/2 cup vanilla ice cream

OMG!!!!!!

My mom made me do this diet when I was like 12! I hate beets to this day because of it. I will never attempt this diet ever again.

I felt like I starved and never lost any weight.

I blame this on my horrible fight with weight. I was way to young to be put on something like this, and I think that's why I am a closet eater. As long as people are around I won't eat. As soon as they clear I am shoveling it in.

No offense to you Noni. I hope it works for you. Really. I was just too young to be put on something so strict. I had aunt who taunted me about my weight and made fun of me and talked about me when I could hear. All this around the same time.

My mom called it the 3 day diet, I called it the beet barf diet.

That's been around for a while then.

I hated myself growing up because I wasn't so thin like my girl cousins.

It sounds like a great place to work. Any open positions? :)

We all did this in my old job. I never lasted the whole three days. It was called the 3 day diet back then with us too Monica. I would love to try it again to see if it would work for me. I like beets.

Count me in the list that wants to work with Pakey!! We didn't get one thing, just the opportunity to bring in desserts today. Whee.

I am -.6. Not much but at least downward trend rather than upward. I was a bit disappointed since I have been working really hard this week, and it said one lb less yesterday.

That beet diet thing sounds interesting. I hate cottage cheese way more than beets. Do you put buns on your hot dogs? Are the veggies raw or cooked?

I think I am going to try and get them to let me go for the day.

does anyone remember the exact dates they offered free dining this year and when you had to book the trip? i would search for a thread about it but the search engine isn't working....i searched for "free dining 2007" and it didn't come up with anything, so i know something's wrong! thanks!

Still nothing! I'll weigh in tonight regardless. So my dried apricot plan backfired (literally).

Okay, I weighed in again when I got home from work, just for grins... and I was down another 2.6 lbs?? Strange. Anyhow, that takes my total to -3.2 lbs.

I am 100% sure that after a b-day dinner on Monday, and Christmas dinner on Tuesday, that it will all be right back, but I will take it for today!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

I said I would post, so here I am. Up 4 lbs. (well, 3.9, but who am I kidding?). I get a lot of emails from Sparkpeople about how important adequate sleep is, and I can sure see it this week. I ate way too much sugar, even on days when there wasn't a party. we went out to eat because I was too tired to cook, and then I made bad choices because I was feeling deprived (of rest, certainly not food). When DH got home to night I had a little pity party and cried my eyes out, partly because this is a very emotional week at work, and partly out of exhaustion.

The fun parts of today were extra fun. Mrs. Claus didn't make it, but the kids loved Santa. He's just the sweetest guy in the world. We watched the first graders put on a play, and some of my babies from last year who started out not speaking a word of English were SO GOOD in the play! I felt partly responsible for their success, and that was definitely the best gift I got (although the fancy little clutch purse one of my boys gave me was pretty great, too!)

I'm glad to hear so many of you lost or stayed the same this week. If you gained and didn't want to say, that's OK too. I'm willing to carry the shame for all of us.

I haven't tallied! I suck!

Can I just say I'm a samer? Because I was a a samer as of yesterday. I'm SURE I'll be down tomorrow....Whatever!

have you ever looked at the calories on a carton of boiled custard??? :scared1: 106 per 1/2 cup. that's a lot. boiled custard is a tradition for me at christmas time. one that i may have to cut WAY back on!

Just popping in really quick to say that after stepping on the scale THREE times to verify, I am down 4 lbs! I will believe it for sure when I see it still there next week - or on Christmas, I guess. When are we weighing in for the Christmas goal? (I am actually .8 lbs away from that goal because I gained .6 at some point.) Be back tomorrow or Sunday to catch up. We went to see National Treasure tonight - GOOD! Gotta get to bed now.

Read at your own risk. I suggest putting on a face mask.

Morning Peeps!

The flu bug is going strong here with the kids.

I laid half the tile last night. I did a great job! Who woulda thunk that I can lay tile?

I haven't tallied! I suck!

Good 'cause I forgot to weigh yesterday. Well, I just got off the scale and I lost -2.0 lbs. :yay: :cool1: :cheer2: The bummer thing about it is that I am .4 away from getting a new ribbon, and I have to go to my DH's family Christmas party today, so I don't think I'll be losing it today. :sad2:

Aaron - My new goal will be to lose the remainder before I go to Disney on the 9th. :thumbsup2

Hey hey - I'm finally A SAMER!!! :woohoo: (I had gained 10# due to some self medicating with food!! You know gaining and losing this 10# is ridiculous, I know it, but I still munch down on the chocolate)

I ran 7.71 miles today at 2 hours and about 10 min - - I am so exhausted... and a bit chilled... it is foggy googy outside... Its not a half marathon yet - I have less than 3 weeks - we're heading to the world Jan 11... I know I'll see Allie at dinner for sure Friday at POP!! Hope to meet up sooner, but I've got training on my mind...

He never gives up
Lets go of his dream
His world goes around for his one true belief
Is that how you know
Is that what it means?

Would he walk on water
Would he run through fire
Would he stand before you
Would he will be your anchor when the dark unfolds
Would he always love you the best that he knows?

Would he give his life up
To be all that he can
Is that, is that, is that how you measure a man?

Would he walk on water
Would he run through fire
Would he stand before you
When it's down to the wire
Would he give his life up
To be all he can

Is that, is that, is that, how you measure oh...

Is that, is that, is that, how you measure a man?

Absolutely. I can't seem to keep anything straight. :confused3 I did pretty well at the Inlaws party today. Luckily, my MIL didn't make her famous Christmas party candy. Which would have been consumed to excess. :rolleyes1 So I am hoping for a pretty number next week and a new ribbon. I'm so close!!
