Spongie Update- they're in their hotel which she says is great, and going to breakfast before heading out to DisneyLand!!!!! YAY!!! I keep thinking her kids are going to be SO CRAZY HAPPY, but it's really Misty and her DH who will be beyond happy! I 'd bet money Misty will CRY at some point within the first 5 minutes! I will NOT call her 50 times today!

Her littlest son is Mayson who is 2, and he practically shakes with delight when he sees Mickey Mouse Clubhouse...it's the cutest thing!

I'm really excited for them. I was thinking about them yesterday because of all the fires in S. California. When we were driving home from LA yesterday, the winds were so strong and we were glad that we were in my car and not my DH's SUV. I had heard that it wasn't too smokey in the Anaheim area which is where Misty is so I hope it is a perfect vacation for them. I can't wait for the trip update.

So this will be my starting point if that's OK Aaron. Not sure how else to do it. Thanks for keeping track! :)
That works for me!

Thanks for doing that Aaron. That is SO great! I will be better by next week. Even though I was a gainer this week, I had several people comment to me at work today that it looked like I lost weight. :thumbsup2 :goodvibes It made me more motivated than ever. I have to tell myself that I have still lost 13 lbs. total, and that is something to be proud of. It is just hard when you don't see the numbers you want to see. :sad2:
Yeah, one thing I've learned is to look at the big picture. Even though I've sorta been treading water the past two months, I realize that I am 55+ lbs under my highest weight, so that makes me feel a littl better.

That spreadsheet rocks! Thanks for doing it...makes me motivated!

I need little goals. The 5 pound one was perfect for me. Like today at Costco, I was soooo careful not to undo my -1.4. It's weird, but since someone besides me (Aaron) thunk of it, it's like I want to be on board more. I don't want to let anyone else down (even though that's rediculous). When I lost my weight a few years ago, it was so much more mentally EASY! I just said: "ONE pound. I only want to lose ONE pound at a time!" I told myself as long as the scale's number never went up or stayed the same, I would be ok with ANY progress. Even .2 of a pound. It kept me honest with myself. I need to feel deserving to do it again! I've tasted thinness and it really was amazing!
I'm glad I could help motivate all of you as much as you have motivated me!

Alright, back to printing notes. Have a great week Peeps! Make smart choices. Think about the Thanksgiving challenge! Turkey Day is only a month away! Yikes! (I think we should have a Christmas challenge too...I know it is tough around the holidays, but maybe it will keep us (me) from gaining almost 10 lbs like they (me) did last Christmas-time. :rolleyes1
My original intent was to set the next goal for mid-February (around my birthday). But that's when I was just setting these goals for myself. Now that I've roped so many more people in, maybe we'll do a Christmas goal, and then a Valentines Day goal (my b-day is the 11th, so that's close enough).

i posted a little mini TR of my weekend and the wedding. here's the link to that post if you're interested in the pics - they're really pretty (just so you don't have to sort through my pre-trippie!):

Looks like everyone had a great time. Thanks for sharing! I love Luke's "too cool for the room" pose! Too cute.

I'll post the latest Turkey Day goal update sometime tonight.

I didn't see anything from Zigzagzerr, Harley, Tinkabella, Minnie Moo, or Sandy (where are you Sandy?!?). So sorry if I missed any of you! Just let me know and I'll add you in.

So far, our net weight loss during the challenge is 6.2 pounds. Good job all! I fear I won't be contributing to that this week, though. I was up north 4-wheeling with some friends this weekend, and let's just say the availability of healthy food choices was pretty lacking. For the most part my options were: beef jerkey, Little Debbie snack cakes, Mountain Dew, Beer, water, Sun Chips, and Chips and Salsa. Thankfully, my darling wife had a 6" Subway Sub waiting for me in the fridge when I got home late yesterday afternoon, so at least I was able to get back on track last night. We'll see how much damage I did come Friday.

Hope everyone has a great day!

OK...So I am down to 20 days until I leave for my WDW trip, and I am no less than I was when I started! Boy, am I frustrated! My intentions are good, but I just don't seem to have the will power I need! Just not sure what the motivation is that I need.

UM...Your before & after pics always floor me! You look like 2 different people! (Thanks for the Spongie update!)

Melinda??? Didn't see you this morning. Hope all is OK :flower3:

 to everyone else!!!

So, I have been offered another job at another insurance company and have let my boss know. I have to think seriously about it because I was offered so many things I do not have now...more money, full time, 2 weeks paid vacation, paid holidays....now to see if the boss counter offers. If she wants to keep me, I'm sure she will, but I'm not sure she'll want to offer me everything I can get at the other job. I'll have to wait and see. :rolleyes1

Good Morning Peeps! :)

Yesterday was also cheat day, and I'm hoping I didn't do TOO much damage. I did stand and dance (sort of:laughing: ) for most of the Fall Out Boy portion of the show, so maybe that'll help. :rotfl:

Well, have a great Monday Peeps! I'll check in later.
How fun!! I enjoy FOB as well..although i give you credit for going to the actual show. I just can't do concerts anymore, unless its the Holiday Boston Pops..something about standing up for 3 hours with teenagers eeks me out. Or maybe i overdosed on shows in my early 20s or something...whatever! Now "Off Kilter" of " Mo Rockin" i will stand there and watch! ;)

Hey y'all.

guess what?

I'm wearing size 16 pants.

I feel like at any second the fashion police are going to jump out and say "You faker! You're a 28! You're not a 16! Get those clothes off!"

YAY FOR YOU!!! :cool1:

I love the idea of all these mini goals! As long as you dont' mind keeping track of them on your super duper spreadsheet. I know this turkey day goal kept me more in check this weekend...i wasn't perfect BELIEVE ME..but better than i would have been with that 5.10 i still have to lose before gobble gobble day! :)

Nope, don't mind one bit. In fact, it gives me another reason to check in here more than once a week, so it's good for me too.

UTAHMAMA = Those pictures of you were so inspiring! That is willpower. I need me alot more of that. Any diet tips you want to share? :goodvibes I am also lovin' the trip report, Norah is such a cutiepie. My mom used to make me outfits when I was around her age (and some CUTE doll clothes to :) ) but, the only outfit I really remember (besides a pilgrim outfit for Halloween) was a red white and blue striped (with stars in the stripes...) set of overalls with a conducters hat that I wore to a tupperware party. I think she needed some of your patterns!! ( or at least different material...) ;)

Congratulations!! I totally understand not feeling "entitled" to wear the smaller size. I'm having that problem myself! Although mine tends to happen when I go to try things on. I tend to look at a pair of pants or a top and decide it is way too small before I even get it back to the dressing room. I haven't reset my internal "will that fit"-o-meter to adjust for the weight loss. I usually end up taking the same thing in 3 sizes to the dressing room...

That was a really nice wedding...everything looked so pretty and romantic. What a great way to start out married life. You are so lucky to go on so many trips!!! Since I've been reading this thread, you have been to alot of different places and you make it look so easy! I love the little mini trip reports. We don't live to far from Mama and Son's in Georgia (maybe a 2-4 hr drive? not positive) and I would love to schedule a little weekend getaway. Thanks for letting me enjoy the trips vicariously though! :coffee:

I use my points and like it. I am close to getting another gift card---:woohoo: I am using it to put towards a gif for DH.

Our last redemtion was a $50.00 gift card to Target.

That is awesome!

I remember when I got down to a size 8 when I was 19 and I was just going stir crazy in the dressing room. I was trying on a 12, way too big, then I had my BF at the time get me a 10 too big and my eyes were bugging when the 8 fit. But like UM said in a post, it was like for 5 minutes.

Well, the crowd only stood for FOB. We sat through most of the other bands. Except on the floor, that is, where it was 'standing room only'. Not my cup o' tea! We had nice seats, but we had seats! And we weren't actualy surrounded by teenagers. (I was surprised.) We were on an aisle, and we had an older woman at the other end of our group. (She was looking at her kids with binoculars during the show! ) And we had college kids in front of and on the other side of the aisle from us. No one behind us because we were in the last row of the lowest section. :thumbsup2 Worked out beautifully!

The other thing you should know is that my mom used to take me to concerts ALL the time as a kid. Granted, it was The Oak Ridge Boys, Reba, Lee Greenwood, and various other country singers, but I went to a LOT of concerts as a kid. When I got into junior high and high school, I actually went to 3 New Kids on the Block concerts. :sad2: (You know I love you guys to be telling you that one! :rotfl: ) And since leaving college, I've seen Garth Brooks, Survivor, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, No Doubt, Journey, Ashlee Simpson, Blue Man Group, and Gwen Stefani, among others. I LOVE concerts! Mom must have ingrained it in me. I WAS relieved not to be the oldest ones there last night though. ;)

WHOOHOOTY! I remember when I went shopping this summer and finally was able to buy a 16 without a 'W' after it. I did such a little dance in the fitting room!

OK, I did too....3 New Kids concerts for me too. I loved them, I may still have their prehistoric cassettes around here someplace too :rolleyes1 I had such a crush on Joey McIntyre

:rotfl: That's great! I'm not alone! Of course, we are the same age, so that makes sense, I guess. I may have a cassette somewhere too, but no idea where because some of my cassettes are missing, and I think they are in that bunch. Darn! Actually, I made a call at work the other day (to a new hire), and they had that "Please enjoy the music while your party is being reached.", and it was New Kids on the Block! :lmao: I was glad I got voicemail because it was all I could do to keep from laughing long enough to leave a message.

And Celery - I also can relate to the size 16 disbelief. I'm there too, and it's taking some getting used to.

After watching Oprah today, I did what I've wanted to do for a long time - and I emailed WebmasterKathy - and changed my username!

Randy Pausch is a professor that has terminal cancer, he did a "last lecture" mostly for the sake of his 3 young (under5) children... and now he did his lecture on "Oprah" - if you didnt see it, you can read some of it on oprah.com - very powerful... when he made tenure, he took his research team (maybe 15 - 20?) to WDW!! (long before he found out he had cancer) He felt he had to, if not for them, he wouldnt have made tenure, and the cost of that was much more expensive!! So off to Disney they went for a week!!

He also said that you need to think about it - are you more like Tigger or Eeyore...

Tigger represents joy... Eeyore depression...

well, none of that thank you very much... so off I went... and I'm still trying to set things up!!

I know I'm not the brightest bulb in the pack!!

I told you I'm still transitioning - I need to save some of my PM's from my old username... and I dont have enough posts to PM yet...

:rotfl: There were a group of us who loved them and we all liked a different New Kid, so no fighting over who ws gonna get which one. We did actually get to sort of 'meet them' once- they were hanging out of their tour bus window as they were leaving the concertn venue and we got to touch their hands. I know you are truly jealous now :lmao:
