OK, finally caught up after a crazy weekend! Wanted to reply to more, but my time is short at the moment.

and how about "Meet me in St Louis" of course that's more of a musical.. maybe after we finish the romance we can move to comedies, or musicals!!

Gotta run,

:grouphug: Lynda I was going to post but must take dd to a bday party, I forgot about!!

I said My Fair Lady as one of mine, and it's a musical too. And great idea. So what is next? I LOVE movies!!! :)

Thanks! :goodvibes

GROWL!

I just realized I neglected to reserve a hotel room for Mother's Weekend at the boys univ. and of course, the closest room available is 23 miles away!!

I thought we took care of this!! Dagnabit - I'm sure the boys will bunk up and I'll stay in ds room (cannot call that small area an apartment efficiency/studio!! :rotfl2: )

Wonder if you can waitlist!!

Where is the one hotel at that is 23 miles away? (What town? PM me if ya want.) Let me know if there's anything I can do to help, seeing as how I am right here. When is mother's weekend this year? Going out to eat that weekend is never easy! Is it just you coming down?

After reading through a dozen or so pages of this thread, I get the feeling that I am the only guy here. Which is cool with me, if it is cool with you. But that means that I can't really answer the bathing suit question at all. For most guys (and if I had my druthers, it would be ALL guys not on some sort of swimming and diving team), the only option is swim trunks. But the problem is, that means no shirt. So I guess I want my "after" to wear any trunks, so long as I'm not embarrassed to do it shirtless.

:welcome: new dude! As mentioned above, there is another guy here. :)

Welcome WI Disneyfan, I am Brigitte and have no fear I will not subject you to speedos! Or myself or anyone else!

SO glad you found us here, just ignore 99% of my posts! Its mostly just dribble! But this a great place to come and get some support!

nope not alone:cool1:

All right, I'm not sure where/how to start on this thread, but I figure I'll just jump right in here with a (not-so-)quick introduction so y'all know where I'm coming from.

I've struggled with my weight almost my entire life. From birth through 3rd grade, I was a pretty normal weight. But somehow, during the summer between 3rd and 4th grade I ballooned. I wasn't a very active kid, so that definitely had something to do with it. And I developed a real love affair with food, which didn't help much either. I was able to maintain an unhealthy, but not deadly weight of about 195 through most of high school and college. When I met my now-wife 5 years ago, I was 5'8" and around 190. Over the course of the next three years, I somehow managed to gain almost 50 pounds.

Then two years ago, my former boss' husband died of a heart attack at age 62. For some reason, that really hit me hard. Not because I knew him well, which I didn't. But because I realized that if I wasn't careful that would be me. So for my now-wife and I dating anniversary, I received a 6-month membership to Weight Watchers online. This 6-month membership would take me up to and through our wedding. I used to be very skeptical of Weight Watchers. I would make jokes like "I don't need to spend money to be told to not eat that 3rd pork chop". But when I started on the program, I realized something. I DID need to pay money to be told to not eat as much. And much to my surprise, it worked. I was able to lose 25 pounds and one pants size before my wedding. I was 215 pounds for our honeymoon, and I thought the next 25 pounds would go just as easy.

But over the course of the past year and a half, I got lazy. I kept a lot of the good habits that Weight watchers taught me, so I didn't gain much of the weight back that I lost. But I wasn't very strict with what I was eating, so I didn't lose any weight either. My weight would fluctuate between 210 and 220 pounds. And my wife managed to gain about 20 pounds herself. And the funny thing is, that is probably the best thing that could have happened to me.

Throughout the past year and a half, my wife wasn't as supportive as she could have been. She would always say "I want to help you lose weight"; but she would say that while picking out a chocolate long john donut at the grocery store. For someone who loves sweets as much as I do, that was pretty much an open invitation to get jelly filled donut of my own. I would never blame her for my weight problem, but she also wasn't helping matters at all; even if it probably was just subconsciously.

Then on New Year's Day, my wife was on the computer. I asked her what she was doing, and her response surprised me. "I'm joining Weight Watchers online." I knew then that I would have a partner in my struggle. And so far, it has been great. When planning out our meals for the week, we make sure to point things out before committing to them. If one of us has a weak moment, the other one is there to be supportive and give a little "shove" in the right direction. So here we are, on week 8 of our diet. I have lost about 11 pounds since the start of the year and I am feeling great. My wife is down about 8 pounds herself. And I can say with 100% confidence that if it wasn't for my wife joining Weight Watchers with me, that I would not have had the success these past 7 weeks that I have had.

So anyway, that is a condensed version of my struggles. I'm hoping to keep checking in here to keep myself honest. And I'll be sure to be as supportive as possible to the rest of you trying to reach your own personal goals.

Welcome!!!!!

Yay! Another dude! Our very own thread hunk is Grumpyyounguy (Dan) and he gets aLOT of attention.....and so will you! Probably because you will drop a ton while we watch in awe and amazement and CHEER you on along the way!!!!

Very nice to meet you! I struggled with my weight all my life too. Well, ok, after I was 6 or so, I gained...and gained...

A few years ago I lost almost 150 pounds and after having this last baby, I have 40 more baby weight pounds to go. She's 2 and 1/2.:sad2:

I've had a taste of what it feels like to be thin and want to magically lose this last darn 40 pounds! Thin feels GREAT! I have a common struggle of not exercising. I really want magic. I am SO lazy!

Uh oh, tangent again. We really do welcome you!!! :cheer2:

Weigh days are Friday mornings. Some of the other WW peeps weigh different days but still post on fridays, if thats ok with you.

You've come to the right place :grouphug: !!!!!!!

:welcome: We are thrilled to have another guy! It is good for us to have a male perspective. Of course we do expect you to be honest and tell us we would look great in any swimsuit!! :lmao: Maybe your wife would like to join us too.

I found a site with great WW recipes. Here is the link:

http://www.angelfire.com/journal/wwrecipes/

The only problem I am having is trying to feed my picky family! There are many recipes on this WW site that sound great, but I know I am the only one who would eat it. I am just too busy to try and fix several meals per night. I have done that a lot lately and it results in like 3 hours of staying in the kitchen! I already spend an hour every morning fixing all the different breakfasts and lunches! They complain because they are tired of chicken and hamburger patties, but they don't eat much else! Vent over.

I need to go start dinner.

:groom: HAPPY PRESIDENT'S DAY, PEEPS!:groom:

I guess everyone is sleeping in late like I did. Gotta go to part-timish job today but don't have to dress up so wearing my sweats.

DANIELLE.....When are you leaving for your weekend with Roger Daltry....I mean DH? I know your birthday isn't til Sunday but we want to have your peeps party before then if you won't be back til late.

We leave on Wednesday and come back Saturday, so I'll be back to party with the peeps. Thanks for thinking of me, and I love a sweats day.

Thanks ofr the kudos folks!

Yep I am doing better today

Utah I have only made it thru the first 1/2 of your intro, Ranger interrupted my posting yesterday;)
Oh boy! That's the BEST kind of interruption. Glad you're doing better.

I would buy it if it came with the tan and the body!!! I think I will buy one of those swim dresses.

I had a swim dress tankini summer before last. I ended up sewing a little snap on the front and back of the skirt, so when I was swimming or soaking I didn't have the skirt billowing around me. It was great for water parks because I could walk around without my hinder hanging out.

All right, I'm not sure where/how to start on this thread, but I figure I'll just jump right in here with a (not-so-)quick introduction so y'all know where I'm coming from.

:welcome: WI Dis Fan. Thanks for sharing your story. Right there with you on the speedo thing. 2 WDW trips ago, there was a guy in speedos in front of me in line at Typhoon Lagoon. He had shaved his legs, but not on the last two inches below the speedos. It was :scared: .

I went to the gym this morning and did the elliptical. I had my WWPD keychain hanging on the handle, and I thought yeah, this is what peeps would do. I just want to thank everyone for their support. I am at the lowest weight I have been in years, and like Grumpy's siggie says, I think I am gaining momentum. By the way, :wave2: Grumpy. We missed ya.

Here's some entertainment for this morning. :rotfl2:

:lmao: :rotfl: Wow she tends to have a problem of being misunderstood a good bit of the time. I am sorry, but I was with the OP of that thread. DH agrees 100% that I have all say so, if not he gets to fix it. WHat goes around comes around.

Danville, Bloomington, or Decatur!!! :scared1: It was supposed to be just me - and I imagine when I mention it to ds - he'll offer to move out or in with his brother so I can have his place!! OR I'll just come the weekend before or after :confused3 I just thought I should do a few of the "mom" planned events - the musical sounded like fun!! (April 13 - 15 - I just dont want to drive 23 miles!!)

nope not alone:cool1:

AHA - he does exist!!!!

OH, I also posted a great WW help website - http://www.dwlz.com/WWinfoTOC.html

Down to the bottom left is a list of menus - print those off for inspiration!! I'm sure if you are on WW you've heard of Dotti's weight loss zone tho!! I just find her food lists, and her menus a great help when I'm feeling tempted!!

OOOhhh that's cute fidge! Now everytime I think of you I'll imagine that picture! You are smokin! :cheer2: Oh how I'd love for there to be empty space between my thighs! That part of my body hasn't breathed or seen the light of day (or night) in years!!!!!

I hated that they closed the hair thread before the person could respond --not that they would. It amazes me how sick some people can be---they they get a jolly out of being mean to others.:confused3

Glad that you are back and that you had a great time. I know what happens in vegas stays in vegas, but you gotta let us know details.

OT---I am no longer getting updates. Is anyone else not getting notifications on this thread?

Not very many pages but lots of memorable stuff today!

OOOps, I saw this little ditty after I said good night!

I have to say that looks like aLOT of fun and work! WOW!!! I love hands on history for kids! So much better than a book!!! (With the exception of American Girl type books, maybe).

I am often thankful my time on earth is now and not 50 or 100 years or more ago. I just cant imagine the chores our mamas had to do! I am thankful for my dishwasher, my car(s), my chicken nuggets, my washer and dryer, my under eye concealer ;) , my DD's Huggies.....etc.

I am so glad I live when I do too. We do medieval re-enactment and it's even more primitive than what we did on Fri night. I know why people then weren't overweight, they worked too hard to gain any thing.

MouseHouse - the cart is very impressive!!!!! Scrapbooking is a sickness - you should get help now!!

I'm a crafting addict. Ooohhh is there a CA group somewhere? Hi, I'm Noni and I'm a crafter..........:rotfl: (Seriously, I have a TON of respect for those truly dealing with an addiction, it's hard to take control over something that usually controls you.)

I just went over to lands end for fun. Let me just tell ya. I entered in my measurements and all that and they gave me a fat model!!!! Then to make matters worse, just for fun I tried on a bikini, and when they put the bikinin on the fat model.... they automatically put a cover up skirt on her! The nerve!

:lmao: :lmao: OMGoodness!!!!!! that is too funny.... They probably thought some kid was playing around and didn't want to scar him for life...

Noni.....Love your cart! What a capable girl you are! I would never even try to do something like that! Do you live near Connor Prairie? Is that where you had the reenactment dinner?

Thank You! Thank You! I've always like making things so I guess it follows that I'd 'make' something to store all my carp in. We live about 25 mins from Connor Prairie and have AP. I got the feeling a while back that you're here in Indiana somewhere, You have to be if you figured we were at CP the other night.

JUICY THREAD ALERT!

Here's some entertainment for this morning. :rotfl2:

Stacey.....somebody you may remember is being blasted on this thread!

Thanks for the link! I got side tracked over there for a while but I was :scared1: and :lmao: and  and :woohoo: Too bad it got locked down, it was great popcorn:: At least it was just locked, I was on a thread not too long after I joined and it went *poof* after the OP got really nasty to people who disagreed with her. I originally understood what she was trying to say and said so but then she had to open her big mouth again and I could no longer support her train of thought. It was a riot though.

Mouse house - increidble talent you have careful now or we will be placing orders for that! Congrats it is lovely! Job well done! Love reinactment history, sure DH would be walking around looking to find a remote though!

Thanks for the compliment. I didn't make it from scratch though, it was one of those boxed things with lettered pieces that I put together. It was still a sizeable project but I don't want to take all the credite 'cuz I cheated.. LOL re: the remote.

Potstirrers I get blown away by how some very negative people have found such a postive place like Disney to just be their bizarre selves. No clue??

But that's the magic of Disney......to suspend reality for a while. So if they want to escape their normal rotten miserable lives they come here. Problem is, it's not the life that's rotten..... Sumpthin stinks and it ain't yesterday's dirty diapers..

Ranger interrupted my posting yesterday;)

Ranger, Joe and Stephanie took a bubble bath with me last week. I didn't feel the water get cold.

I would like my "after" to be sporting something like this.....I can't get the photo in but the link is here ...very frustrating!

http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/2918304?tuid=000006cb-006f-0861-6c61-726765727669&id=6831124&largeImg=0

Very nice suit Brigette! I want to get into something like that too.......

It says it's a miracle suit, does that mean we buy one and get a figure like hers? :rotfl2:

:lmao: :lmao: In our dreams!

I made it to jazzercise! I had to laugh today, the instructor said if anything is jiggling or shaking then tighten it up! Yeah right, I'd need a bra of concrete and panties of steel to keep things from jiggling when I'm bouncing around! I guess it's good I don't wear a thong, there'd be an earthquake everytime I swung my hips!:lmao: And with all the skinnie minnies there I seriously feel like the dancing hippo, I just need a pink tutu. Do you think they come in my size?

Winkers, put down the tutu and stay away from construction material undergarments; I hear they chafe something fierce. (And don't do so well when you're in a lake either.) :lmao:

No Jo the miracle would be if I could get in a size it would come in!!!:rotfl2: PLus nothing short if a miracle would not to look like 50 lbs of potatoes in a 10lb sack!!!:rotfl:

Oh the mental image!!! :rotfl2:

Yea we are a zoo over here.:rotfl:

I'm afraid to post icons for all my critters........ oh yeah, it would put my smilie count over 25! If there was an uprising, the fuzzies out number us and we'd be doomed. What am I saying, we're already doomed! It's barely controlled chaos here most days.

UMA stripper hose to go with your stripperdvd??!! ;)

Couldn't pass this one up.... :rotfl: You've got to look the part to play it propperly!

Oh how I'd love for there to be empty space between my thighs! That part of my body hasn't breathed or seen the light of day (or night) in years!!!!!

I think we all have a part or two like that! I had some funny little bit about how to fix that but I wa afraid it wasn't PG enough and didn't want to get any points..... Let's just say, Monica and Pigget know what happens if my suggestion would be followed.......

Thanks to DS: Bibbidy Bobbiddy *BOOM* and suddenly your fat! I guess he's been reading too many posts about the DDP. :lmao:
