Winkers I tried that for the boys    but the produce guy kicked me out. Apparently they don't consider the boys produce. My dad will be soooooo disappointed :sad2: :sad2:

OMG! The mental picture! And then thinking of Bee saying, "And that, dr., is how Grumpyhunk ended up here in the emergency room."

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Yup Danielle, I know I said I was going to bed but DD (11) just came home from NSalz's. Said she didn't feel good, but seems fine. I think she was homesick.

Oh, PD, I hope she feels better.

I was planning on going to bed awhile ago, but DH is putting a cabinet together, and I'm cheering him on.

Checking in from Peoria IL. DH is a snorin too loud and my noise machine broke!

Thanks to everyone who quotes, and thanks to those of you who summarize - I only went back two pages...

WELCOME, welcome WELCOME to the New Peeps... has UTM made you post your pix in a bikini yet? She swears its the best motivation!! :rolleyes1 There was some talk of putting the pic up on your fridge too....

My name is Sandy, and its so nice to meet you!! I'm in IL, grew up in nw IN... married my high school sweetheart 25 years ago... we have 3 kids, 2 in college... since I read a newbie is in Speech and Path,, I know that - my ds is hard of hearing... he's 21, my middle son 18 is trying to major in Music, but is having an awful time in aural skills... and may switch to a Math Major! Our last baby came as a surprise to us, but planned by God - dd is 10, did you know ten is the new 15? Girls are different than boys... :rolleyes1

I'm a permanant sub at our district, which means I get to work 3 days a week, and then I can advocate for my boys, and volunteer for my dd class! I too gained weight through those pregnancies, and never lost, and weigh more than I did with my 10# babies!! :scared1: I've joined ww, nutrasystems, and quite a few others in my past... and I'm hoping to lose 40# and to gain a better me - and dh says if I can run the 1/2 marathon in '08 he'll run the marathon... :rotfl: he says its a safe bet as he knows how much I hate to run (I get shin splints, and my :Pinkbounce: :Pinkbounce: prohibits that much movement...

This weekend we were at a funeral for my great uncle, on my dad's side of the family. My dad's father had a brother. My dad's mother had a sister. My grandparents married, and had 4 kids, and the brother married the sister (this is so hard to 'splain, they werent siblings!!) and their off spring are considered "double cousins" coming from the same gene pool... and you can see so many people that look just like you!!

I have relatives in Champagne IL!! lots of them!! I'm going to meet them next time I come to town, at the Texas Roadhouse for lunch!! :cool1:

Do you know how to go to a pizza parlor and not gain weight? Make them put green peppers on the pizzas, and when a lone cheese pizza comes out, make sure your dh gives it to all the kids, but forgets his wife!! :rotfl: He's very supportive that way!! :rotfl: Well, that's how I did it anyway!!

The bad part of the trip came roaring in last night. My mom and I have a relationship. Strained on my part, her she is just who she is. I'm a lot like her so I keep that in mind... Suffice it to say there was lots and lots of hysterical laughing, followed by a phone calls to those not here (my brother, and an aunt) followed by crying as my mom did what she did... and the aunt that is here put her foot down to stand up for me... I just left crying... and now as I sit here, I remember how Bob Greene, Oprah, and all the rest tell us that this weight is more than about the food, there is an emotional layer to all the eating...

So, even when you know what the emotional layer is... you have to stop. Food is my faithful friend... so very comforting at times like these, you know? My cousin adds that we have to eat to live... as other vices can be given up, but we need food to sustain life (she also wants to lose 40#) and as we all know it takes weeks and weeks to lose 5# but just one meal to gain it back...

I cant wait to get home... but first I have a lunch, and a BEARS game to do... and I have to figure out what to say to my mom, I just want to get through it... and not let her know how much she hurts me, because she never intends to... at least this time she didnt come running after me with the intent to "knock some sense into me"... *sigh

Like others have posted, lets keep up the humor, its the best medicine I can think of to replace food!!

:sunny:GOOD MORNING, PEEPS!!!:sunny:

:welcome: Shannon!!!

:welcome: Michelle!!!

:welcome: Marcy!!!

:cake: ATTENTION, PEEPS NEW & OLD!!! I'm keeping a birthday roster......tell me when your birthday is, please....not the year...unless it's a big one....a milestone year for you!!! Birthday roster is here!!!!

Learn more about fellow peeps....bios start on page 94.

I saw "milled" at the store today. I didn't buy it because I wasn't sure if that was the right stuff. Is it???:confused3
Yes....I think it is.
Also, thanks to the folks who gave me tips on flax seed. Does it taste bad? Like will it ruin my oatmeal?
No...just makes it taste like whole grain oatmeal. It has kind of a nutty flavor.
B: oatmeal & yogurt (220)
L: salad w/salmon, gorgonzola crumbles, almond slices & craisins, hummus & black bean tortilla chips (500)
S: 2 WW carrot cakes (160)
D: Papa Murphy's cheese DeLite pizza (700)
TOTAL for today: 1580 calories
Beautiful!!! Your food always SOUNDS so good, Lynda!
I would love ideas on healthy things that I could just eat the same for brkfst and lunchtime and then make an easy dinner.
Hi, Marcy.......I am a calorie counter. It's my feeling that no matter what you're eating...it all boils down to calories....eat less than you need. My formula is my goal weight times 12=the number of calories per day. If the number sounds too low, set an intermediate goal weight and start there. I eat the same breakfast and lunch every day. Breakfast...low sugar oatmeal with 2 T flax seed meal. Lunch...lean cuisine. Snacks....cereal with skim milk or yogurt/fruit. Easy dinner...whatever everyone else is having only half. A food journal like Lynda's (see above) is also helpful in tracking those zombie bites of pretzels, animal crackers, etc. Try to carve out a half hour to walk whenever you can. Our church has a walking track. It's some nice "me" time after caring for others all week long. Maybe there a church in your town that has a similar facility. Good luck!
:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: Go Danielle's DH put that cabinet together!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:
I agree....our porch light has been out for a month and I can't get DH to change the bulb. :confused3 I draw the line at home maintenance. I'm in the cleaning dirty butts and feeding hungry kids department.

Well said, Sandy!!! :thumbsup2

HAVE A BLESSED SUNDAY, ONE & ALL!!!

We ended up having company tonight. I am double exhausted. Should I feel guilty about actually considering a Disney trip without kids? Just Dh and I, no whining, complaining, begging... Maybe one day and we will stay at the Grand Floridian.

Absolutely! thats what we are doing for the peep meet!!

Well maybe if you hadnt eaten at Victoria and Alberts twice in the past month... hmmmmm..:rotfl2:

Just kidding.. glad you are here!!!

Yep, my bad! :sad2: But it was SOOOO good! ;) I'll just have to fondly remember all the good meals we had in WDW, while I starve for the next year! :scared1:

So, what day is the official weigh in day for everyone here? How does it work?

Have a great weekend!
-Michelle

Ooooh, I'll get right on that bikini photo this morning. If I actually owned a bikini. LOL.

I'd also like to know whereabouts in IN? I went to college in South Bend. I'm a little paranoid about giving out the name since it was a small, women's college (wink wink). I'm the speech path girl! Not working yet but I do have clients through my school that I'm treating. And I played the trombone for 11 years but I truly don't know how I survived my last 5 years playing since I never ever practiced.

Is it ok that I laughed a little at the "double cousins"? But seriously, sorry for your loss and sorry that you are having a stressful time. During times like this when I'm trying to be so good with my eating, I just try to make the best choice even if it is something that I wouldn't be eating every day. Like instead of 2 slices of pizza with everything, have one slice of plain pizza, blot off some grease, and eat a salad. And no matter what you are eating, drink water, water and water. And when you think you can't drink anymore, have another glass.

Ok, can someone please explain to me how you are quoting little snippits from others posts instead of the whole thing like I am doing. I tried hitting that mulit-quote button but its not working so well.

And Thanks to everyone (sorry for not naming names) for the very warm welcome!

*Shannon

Lynda- Papa Murphy's Thin DeLite Pizza is 700 calories? :scared: I'm so sad! I love their veggie De-Lite and that chicken garlic one.:cloud9:

Is that for 2 large pieces?

Wonders- I click on quote and edit out the part I don't need...also you can click multi quote on whatever you want to quote and then click post reply and all your little quotesies should bethere and you can manipulate them as you'd like...
