Free dining is not offered with the family suites! I am also disapointed that none of the rooms at AOA are offered in the free dining events. It makes it a better deal to stay at a value and get 2 rooms with the free dining. Although all of this is disapointing.
Anyone else feel this way?

Free dining is a marketing tool to fill the rooms. Family suites, and especially, AoA do not need assistance filling the room. Family suites sometimes are in the free dining, there are just not that many rooms set aside. Only so many rooms at certain resorts are set aside for free dining to help them fill.

For us, "free" dining is very rarely a better deal than a room discount. We find we eat for less money OOP than purchasing the dining plan so we go with the room discount.

We got free dining with the family suites. We booked bounceback last year and booked the family suites AoA free dining.

I am so confused. We tend to go late in the year (lately) and have never been able to get a bounceback offer for the next year. Have always been told bounceback is for the same calendar year only. I've never understood how this made sense. So, you stayed in 2011 and booked bounceback for 2012???

During the Aug/Sept free dining timeframe, the bounceback is typically for free dining for the same timeframe the next year. I also booked the bounceback last August for this coming August at AoA.

Free dining is for filling unbooked rooms. I am assuming that at the time the current offer was released, Disney did not have a lot of unbooked rooms at Art of Animation. The resort is only partially open and a lot of guests are staying there despite the prices because it's new. Should the bookings go down after the novelty wears off, you may see them included.

Ooo, I would hope the AOA would have free dining.:scared1:

I do agree for the price of the Family suites, we could stay in a Deluxe:confused3

Colors:goodvibes

The family suites are less than 250 a night in Aug. How is that more expensive than a deluxe? :confused3 The WL is the least expensive deluxe at that time and is 300 a night plus those only sleep 4. AOA sleeps 6 and has more square footage than WL standard room. Actually, it is larger than the WL suite which is over $700 a night in Aug. To me AOA is a pretty good price esp considering it is new and is larger than the AMSu suites. (Those also seem to be excluded from FD?)
BTW, they are offering a AAA rate in Aug, add that to Yes tickets, and the price to stay there paying OOP for food is actually a better deal than staying with the FD. At least for my family of 6 it was.

So where does one find discounts other than free dining?

I looked at Disneys vacation site and it was a nice savings having the meal plan especially with a family of 5(3 adults and 2 kids).
