Disapalooza complaint

I just want to point out that the original poster did say that they had a great time at dizapalooza and that they would come back again next year. They had a problem with the price of the soda and I can understand that. John later said that it served as a reminder to him and next year he would make it a point to let people know the drink prices in advance. I guess what I am trying to say is that it is ok for the OP to bring up an issue like this as long as it's done in a respectful way and all feedback good and bad has a place

I am a little shocked that people are shocked by the price.

Heck, it is Disney. The same place where we pay 9 bucks for a 1 dollar burger and smile while we are doing so.

Just as comparison go to a a pro ball game and you can expect to pay that or more. A brewsky will set you back 8 - 9 bucks.

Just kind of how it goes.

With that being said, I would have loved to have been there. Would have been more then happy to pay if I could have enjoyed the event.

I am with you!
I know we were just happy to be there, and did not bat a eye at the charges for drinks. We were there last year so knew what to expect.
I really don't think the prices were out of line, for where you were.

I am the OP of this thread. Like the other OP said we had a blast at DAP just shocked at the drink prices. I know DIS`s had nothing to do with it. I never said anything negative toward the DAP itself. Just the idea of paying $4 for a can of coke to me it nuts. Plus i do not carry much cash on me. So i had to walk to the front to get some cash. Pete and the gang did an awesome job with DAP. We will be back next year. But it would be nice to have known the price in advance.

Scary thing is if they weren't so greedy (Disney) they'd probably sell triple the amount of drinks if they halved the prices. In fairness it's standard practice amongst a lot of companies.

I had a blast at the party anyway, and when I got a drink of coke I savoured it as if it were Ambrosia (Greek mythology one, and not rice pudding) :)

The coke did cost a lot. I thought it was worse paying that for water...but I did it, and tried to keep it all in perspective.

They did take credit cards, BTW. I never carry cash either.

I paid with my KTTW card. They took credit and KTTW. I tried to be sneaky with DH. Was affraid he'd flip at the $4 water, so I bought 4 tickets at the begining of the night and just gave him the tickets. When he got thirsty he just handed in the ticket. Would've gotten away with it till Disneydonna's DH said "Best $4 water I ever drank!"

Basically, if you think the price is too high, don't buy it !

No one *needs* a Coke, I think it's a law somewhere that where ever beverages are being sold to a "captive audience" there has to be free water available.

I've seen cans of Coke for up to $12 in minibars right here in the states... NO way I'd pay that, but I've seen others folks who say, "what the heck, we're on vacation" and drink them up.

There's money to be made, and goodness knows Disney is genius at that...

I didn't realize ahead of time that drinks weren't included. When I found out water was $4, the nice bartender gave me a cup of ice and told me where the water fountain was. Thanks, Eddie!

Great TSM party!

DS & I watched as everyone gathered outside the gates. It was a great crowd. Would I have paid $4 for a can of coke once inside, Heck Yea!

I would've paid 'Broadway scalper prices' for 2 tickets to the party that night.

OK Gang I think this thread has played itself out so I'm going to close it.
