Hello!

I will be traveling with my mother who will likely not need a wheelchair but has difficulty on stairs (falling!).
For shows such as Fantasmic or Indiana Jones, will the pass allow her and our family (4 total) to sit in the accessible seating?

Thanks!

I don't believe the DAS will be issued just for avoidance of stairs. You need to let the CM at the attractions/shows about her issue and they will direct you where to go.

I do know that at Fantasmic my dd on a ECV was parked in the back and we were given the 4 seats in front of her (2 in one row and 2 in another). I sat by myself with my kids behind me and my dd parked behind them. At Indiana Jones she was parked in the handicapped spot and we were beside her.

This is correct. The pass won't be issued to avoid stairs. Just let the CM know at each attraction or show and they will direct you. You will get to sit together.

Just let a CM know, even with the DAS I have to tell them at TSMM and shows that I can't do the stairs.

What were you hoping for?

I was hoping that she could sit where it would not require her to go up & down stairs without a handrail.

In Aug 2013, I spoke to a CM at Fantasmic who asked for her "card." I'm not sure if this was before or after the GAC card change, but we didn't have one and the CM refused to accommodate.

That was before the change.

My mom can't do stairs (and has to have walkways slowed down). We did not apply for a card. We talked to lots of CM's who were great about accommodating us.

You'll be fine. At Fantasmic she walked down two steps and sat down. I tend to walk with her and offer her my hand or arm and she did use me to support her, but did not have any problem. No one bothered us or asked for a card.
