OK, that's all for now. I'll be back with more later.

Wow Dave, what a great picture of the launch!! I didn't know you could breath in space! :lmao:

Anyway, I'm glad you guys are having a great time. It looks like quit a celebration. :thumbsup2

Oh, and you're torturing me with that food. I'm not allowed to eat anything solid for at least two days.

enjoying your report Dave, thanks for sharing. So great to share that time with your dad too! :thumbsup2

Awesome report Dave. What a special event made even more so to share it with your dad.

Good Morning Everyone: I have a really full day planned as "Special Correspondent" today, but let me get you updated on last night.

We got back from Kennedy Space Center yesterday around 4pm. Hung out in the room, rested and recovered from our day. Around 6:30p we headed back out for some dinner. I've only been posting pictures from my iPhone (because I forgot the cable for my camera), and I didn't take any pictures on the iPhone last night.

Dad and I had a great chat about everything we experienced at the Kennedy Space Center. I recorded our conversation to get his perspective on the event for the show.

Afterwards, we had a quick bite for dinner, saw a little show, and came home for bed. I need to get him to the airport for an 8:30a flight, and then the rest of the day is scheduled up for interviews.

It was great meeting your Dad. I enjoyed his stories yesterday. Safe travels for his flight.

I'll let him know Kathy. Dad really enjoyed being able to tell his stories, and he enjoyed being recognized on some small part by the astronauts in helping to build their rocket.

What a great time you and your dad must have had. Like I posted earlier, my dad would have loved this. I was even listening to the actual stream from Apollo 11 on AOL. If I meet you during the Marathon weekend I will be asking about this trip you made.

Keep up the great job Dave. We are fortunate to have you on the DISBoard team with the others.

And thank you also for the Castaway Cay 5K blog. I was not aware that this existed and I will run it on my cruise in two weeks. (The longest two weeks of the year naturally).

Dave

Hey Everyone: I'm back from my morning activities. I had to get up to get Dad to the airport for his 8am flight. Afterwards, I had a couple of special correspondent meetings.

On the way to my meeting...

My second meeting was over lunch here.

I can not tell you how well this meeting went! I had a great interview for the show, but more importantly I was able to make a connection I didn't think I'd make. I think it is going to be possible collaborate with this person in my job in the real world too! I'm so excited! :cool1:

Wow Dave, it looked like you had a great week all around. I can't wait to hear your dad talk about his perspective of the event. Wow you got to talk to Buzz how cool is that! I'm so excited to hear your report and read Kathy's blog.
You know who would have loved to have been with you at KSC this week, Bob. I was thinking of him yesterday too. Thanks for taking the time to do this live report. :goodvibes

Here's my update from yesterday. After my great lunch meeting, that lasted 2 hours, I was beat. I went back to my hotel to decompress a little bit. Caught up on some e-mail. Downloaded all the audio I collected to my computer so I wouldn't lose it, and cooled off in the pool. I gave my DW a call, and talked to my girls DD8 pooh: and DD11 princess:

Around 5:00p, I decided to get ready for dinner. At the last minute, my dinner plans fell through so I decided to do something different. I went to Universal. :scared1:

Seriously, I always wanted to check it out, and I had a free ticket from the Super Bowl promo.

It was 6:15p or so when I arrived at the park, and discovered that the parking rate after 6:00p dropped from $12 to $3. :cool1:
IMG_0339.jpg

Remember where you parked.
IMG_0340.jpg

The one thing I want to ride is "The Simpsons"
IMG_0341.jpg

Making my way to the gate.
IMG_0342.jpg

Oooh, look at the crowd.
IMG_0343.jpg

I discover I need to go through the ticket line to get my free promo 7 Day/2 Park ticket. I get in line and wait, and wait, and wait... it's not moving. What the heck are they doing up there? The park closes at 9pm, and it's already 7pm. Why aren't we moving yet? You are wasting my time... What takes so long to buy a ticket?

You know, maybe it isn't a good use of my free 7 Day/2 Park ticket for less than 2 hours. I'm starting to reconsider this plan. OK, forget it, I'm not wasting my free ticket. I need to use it by Dec 31st, but that just gives me another reason to come down for a "research" trip.

Time for dinner. Wow, I drove to Universal, paid $3 for parking to eat at Moe's Southwest Grill. Oh well, you gotta do what you gotta do.
IMG_0345.jpg

Oh, I remembered I need to pick some souvenirs up for my girly-girls. I'll pick something up at CityWalk. Hmmmm, what to get? Oh wait, this is going to be easier than I thought.
IMG_0346.jpg

OK, that's all from me. I need to finish gathering my things up and head to the airport. Thanks for reading.

It was really cool talking with Buzz Aldrin. That was definitely one of the highlights of my day. I'm working on editing all of my audio. I think I captured about 2 hours of audio, and I'm trying to distill it down into something Pete can use on the show.

You're absolutely right Anna. I'm sure Bob would have loved the event at KSC. I wish I could have met him. I think we would have had a lot in common.

I'm sitting on the plane on the tarmac. We taxied out, sat, and came back to the gate. Boy it's hot in here. Wonder what's going on? They said mechanical trouble, but that's it.

Oh,now they say we're leaving. Gotta go.

I made it back home. Yay! We're off to see Harry Potter! Thanks for reading along everyone.
