Dis Unplugged London / Paris / Disneyland Paris ABD Info **UPDATE 11/1/10**

I agree, while we have all been concentrating on the France portion of this trip, I am equally excite about going to England, and would hate to have parts of it cut back to make room for DLP

I would have to say that I'm more excited about the London part than I would be about the Paris part. I'm with Yvette, the French scare me. My aunt went to Paris a couple years ago and stopped in a coffee shop. They wouldn't serve her because she was American. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see Paris, I'd just be more excited about the London part.

Will you look like a tourist? Or do Londoners dress in Crocs and shorts?

I'm pretty sure that getting off a bus and following a person carrying an Adventures By Disney sign is going to blow your cover.

I wouldnt be overly concerned about foot wear giving you away.

So I have no chance of being mistaken for a French model????

I don't think wearing shorts is going to be an issue anyway.

Just looked at the average temperatures for Sept & Oct :surfweb:

Sept: 67-69 high 52 low

Oct: 59 high 46 low

Oh, yeah. This is why I always sort of looked down (yeah, I am sure I was being judgemental!) at tour bus groups. I thought they were for "old people".

When my mother and I toured Cape Breton, we kept cossing paths with the same tour bus. They took so long to load and unload. We had more time at each stop.

Even though we were not with a group, I am sure we still looked like tourists. Something about cameras, maps and guidebooks. And the sensible shoes, of course!

Not a big deal looking like a tourist, Lyn. You do it every time you go to WDW. ;)

Of course, at WDW everyone looks like a tourist. But in a city - London, Paris, NYC, Boston, you want to blend in a bit.

Maybe last time I looked like a tourist.
Next time I want to look like a princess. Think I can pull it off?

I'm not so sure I agree with this, Bill. Never having traveled to Europe, the London part is every bit as intriguing to Phillip and I as the Paris/DLP portions. I'd had to see them "rob Peter to pay Paul" to make this happen.

You mean, "rob Paul to pay Pete"!:lmao:

Phillip and I decided last night that, if this happens, and if we can afford it (that's a BIG "if"), we would do it in celebration of the 25th anniversary of our 25th birthdays -- which will have happened for us in the June (Phillip) and August (me) previous to the trip.

:rotfl2:

and my pre-25th anniversary of my 25th birthday (April)!

Will I look out of place?

"They" know we're tourists as soon as we open our mouths and mangle their language! :lmao: While I didn't wear shorts in London and Paris last month (although it was warm enough in London to do so) - my white New Balance walking shoes might've given it away! On the other hand - how many people from the UK and France wear shorts and flip-flops in US cities (other than in FL) so they'll "blend in"?

OK, I vote to move this to April 2012. April in Paris OOO La La. And beside, my union contract stuff will be well over by then. 2011 is not a year I can plan on anything or pay for anything big before August. I am still hoping for a Backstage Magic tour to take place in 2012. I will be all over that since I don't think they will delay the London/Paris/DisneyLand Paris trip just for me.
