...only to have the rest of the team drown. Randy "The Slouch" Moss burned Darrelle Revis for what will probably be the highlight catch of the season, only for that to be the last good play of the game for the Pats.
Reggie Bush probably strained an ego giving back the Heisman, now he's out for a probably 6 weeks with a broken fib. I mean fibula...
Think Tight Ends would be relevant this year? There has been just slightly more than 50% TE TDs this year compared to last. And after the Pats pre-season I was hopeful...
Speaking of the Pats...everyone I know was thinking Fred Taylor would break out as the primary running back based on his ability. Who knew it would be because he'd be the only one left by mid-season?
High Points for the week in the MKC goes to the Magic Knights with a slim margin of victory over the Mushu Maniacs 102-100, and getting to a rapid first place lead for the conference tied with 2009 champions No Clue Crew, who beat the languishing ESPN Club 99-56. ESPN Club also earns a Benchwarmer award for having a bench that scored more points (57) despite having a player that was out for the week, and also had Jay Cutler (23 points) on the bench vs. Brett Favre (1)...
In the ECC, there was a tie for High Points between The Fins (second week in a row, beating Mr. Toad Rides Again 114-80) and Beach Club Bums (beating Carousel of Doom, 114-78). The Fins are now 2-0 along with T-I-double-guh-err and Boardwalk Buskers.
On the low end, last week's MKC High Points, Tink's Hammer, apparently was pre-occupied by this week's DVD release and managed a paltry 48 points vs. Agent P (71-48). The Hammers also get a Benchwarmer as they also lost to their bench, which scores 59 points.
In the ECC, Grumpy Dopey continues their work up from the bottom strategy with a loss to the Disney Chiefs, who ironically had the second lowest score, 52-41. And if ever a bench beating earned a Benchwarmer award, it was here, with GD's bench - a legal lineup if you plug in a few practice squad players, earning 77 points. That would have beat 4 other teams.
Everyone back to the waiver wire!
