I didn't get to recaps of weeks 12 and 13 due to being at WDW... :rolleyes1

But it is playoff time, so here is the breakdown, with Disboards names included:

In the Magic Kingdom Conference, there was a three way tie for first place with the Skippers, No Clue Crew and Mushu Maniacs (the latter two being past champions), along with the BTMR, Everest Yetis and Magic Knights at 7-6 to make the playoffs. The Maniacs rode a 7 week win streak to make it.

By tie-breaker rules, Crew and Skippers get a first round bye, with the following matchups:

#5 Yetis (ragtopday) vs. #4 BTMR (k_lam) (Winner to play #1 No Clue Crew - ibleedblue)

#6 Knights (lawsonsontour) vs. #3 Maniacs (Alztybrn) (Winner to play #2 Skippers - doconeill)

In the EPCOT Center Conference, where the top was generally held by T-I-double-guh-err and The Fins, both teams faltered a bit, while the Disney Chiefs went nuts, winning their last 5 weeks and setting the conference record in Week 12 to sit alone at #1 with a 10-3 record!

Pluto's Revenge, The Fins and Carousel Of Doom were 9-4, T-I-double-guh-err was 8-5 and Mr. Toad Rides Again was 7-5-1 to round it out. Chiefs and Revenge get the first round bye, with the following matches this weekend:

#5 T-I-double-guh-err (DarkHelmet) vs. #4 Doom (flyingcat2003) (Winner plays #1 Chiefs - Janitor Beans)

#6 Toads (stitchlover) vs. #3 Fins (dpuck1998) (Winner plays #2 Revenge - Splat25)

Good luck to all! And a reminder that EVERYONE is still playing, even if just for pride. Well, even the championship is just for pride - and bragging rights on the DIS...

[I'll just re-use this thread for the playoffs]

Quarterback Injury Syndrome is spreading to the seemingly immune...Favre didn't start even with an extra day's rest thanks to snow (in 28 years, they've never had that much snow in Minnesota?!?) and he may finally be broken for good, and Aaron Rodgers gets his second concussion this season after getting a whopping 1 fantasy point. Both look to be doubtful this week. Although Favre isn't involved in our playoffs, Rodgers is... :(

But on the humorous side, nothing beats how a Jets conditioning coach felt that his team needed just a little extra help during a punt by Miami, that not only he and several others stood together at the extreme limits of the area they are allowed to without actually being in the field, but as Miami's Nolan Carroll was forced wide into the sidelines running up the field, he sticks a knee out blatantly and catches Carroll, causing him to tumble and almost injured him. This from a team that was tied for first two weeks ago...

But anyways, as the IR list grows the teams in the playoffs diminish. In the Magic Kingdom Conference, the top seeds prevailed, with #3 Mushu Maniacs defeating #6 Magic Knights 100-63 (with the Knights getting Low Points for the week), and #4 Big Thunder Mtn Railroad defeating the upstart #5 Everest Yetis 89-70.

In the meantime in the consolation bracket, Wheezy's Warriors managed 130 points to take High Points.

In the EPCOT Center Conference, #6 Mr. Toad Rides Again pulls the upset over #3 The Fins, 95-70, while #4 Carousel Of Doom survives the loss of Rodgers and the meager 68 points were sufficient to beat the collapsing #5 T-I-double-guh-err's more meager 50 points (and Low Points winner). I guess Tigger stopped bouncing...

High Points went to the Beach Club Bums for their 126 points.

So here are the matchups for the conference semis:

MKC:
#4 Big Thunder Mtn Railroad
#1 No Clue Crew

#3 Mushu Maniacs
#2 Jungle Cruise Skippers

ECC:
#6 Mr. Toad Rides Again
#2 Pluto's Revenge

#4 Carousel Of Doom
#1 Disney Chiefs

Back to the waiver wire - especially those (ahem) who have Rodgers and need a backup plan...

Week 2 is down, and several upsets result in all the past conference champions and runner's up being eliminated - there will be new champions next week!

But what a weird week for mistakes on the field...flubbing a last-play punt out of bounds so it instead lands in the hands of DeSean Jackson, who returns for a touchdown...Green Bay not having a second play already called in case they didn't get the first down...the officials giving a first down to the Steelers for a 9-yard run...the NFL for going ahead with the game in Minnesota...Favre for saying, "Yeah, sure, I'll play..."

In the ECC, both favorites lost in their respective matchups, with #4 Carousel Of Doom taking down #1 Disney Chiefs 109-62 (with the Chiefs getting the Low Points award for the week), and #6 Mr. Toad Rides Again beating #2 Pluto's Revenge 78-73.

Plutes Cowboys took High Points with 120.

In the MKC, #4 Big Thunder Mtn Railroad beat the defending league champion and #1 seed No Clue Crew, 117-101, while the lone favorite to win #2 Jungle Cruise Skippers (hey, wait, that's me - I'm still in it?) beat 2008 league champs Mushu Maniacs 80-54.

Dis Uk managed the High Points for the week with 132, while the Everest Yetis pulled up the rear with 50.

So next week is the conference championships:

MKC:
Big Thunder Mtn Railroad vs.
Jungle Cruise Skippers

ECC:
Mr. Toad Rides Again vs.
Carousel Of Doom

Back to the waiver wire - more important than ever!

And its an all-female final this year, with Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (klam_chowder) defeating the Jungle Cruise Skippers 105-95, and Mr. Toad Rides Again (stitchlover) walloping the Carousel Of Doom 123-85. Not only did they win their respective conferences, but they also had high points for the week!

Now the two will face each other head to head, picking a lineup from their existing rosters. Did anyone think ahead to see who will be playing for something this week? Who's riding pine for the playoffs? We'll see Sunday - all games are on Sunday this week.

Here are the rules - the two combatants will walk to the center of the arena with their weapons drawn - oh, wait, that's Fantasy Gladiators. Hmm...ah, here it is...

Each manager will pick a roster from their current lineup - no free agents this week. They will email me the lineup anytime BEFORE 12:30PM Sunday! I will give out two email addresses to insure delivery. You can email me more than one lineup - the last one received before the deadline will be used, but it gives you the opportunity to get me a lineup ahead of time just in case there are problems later.

I will manually compute the points based on the statistics I can gather. I usually use CBS Sportsline as they give me all the info needed conveniently, but I can verify against both ESPN and NFL. I will try to put up a temporary web page with the statistics as things progress. The results will be "certified" by me by Monday night.

I just want to give thanks to Brian for all his hard and amusing work this season. It was a blast participating in my very first DIS FFL and I look forward to more!

May the best woman win the Super Bowl!

Also, extra props to Brian for the manual points calculations coming up! :surfweb:
