Mom2of2 has the DIS stroller been found? I can't believe that the stroller is missing along with the wonderful scrapbook and helpful books in the blue bag!

I will do what I can to help but if anyone sees the stroller in the parks could you let Mom2of2 know? The stroller had a lot of hard miles on it but it was such a welcome service for so many.

It's a shame that others won't be able to use it because it is missing again.

I would like to thank Mom2of2 for all the hard work she put into this program. I sure hate to see it end because the stroller is lost!

BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR A STROLLER AND BLUE BAG WITH DIS STROLLER SWAP TAGS WHEN YOU ARE IN THE PARKS!

No luck so far Safetymom.

I do have some helpers looking for it at MK and the Central Lost and Found but nothing has turned up as of yet.

The Stroller was last seen on Sunday 10/2 around 5pm at LTT in MK. It wasn't picked up as scheduled and that was the last time it was seen.

At this point I am just hoping to get the bag back. The scrapbook was really cool and the DISers that did pages did awesome jobs.

I'm going to give it another day or two before I notify the uncoming swappers that the Stroller Swap is no longer :sad2:

Thanks for the pat on the back but it would have never worked if it wasn't for the swappers that truly participated in the Stroller Swap.

i had just come to this board today and saw the sticky about the stroller swap, but then to my dismay i scrolled down to see this post. i want to help in any way i can, but living in mass and not going to disney for another 5 months (daughters 3rd birthday, sher is very excited) the only thing i can think of is to donate an extra stroller that my wife and i have. it has only been used a handful of times, and looks much like the other one. if interested just send me an email:

here is the link to see what it is like.

freekdad13, that is very generous. Maybe it is just time for the stroller swap to die.

I don't know what mom2of2 thinks though.

Thanks for the offer of another stroller, but I agree with Safetymom....

When the orginal Stroller Swap started it was about Community with money saving coming in second. The first swap was relatively easy but after a year, both myself and the stroller were tired. We both retired.
Then SS2 was born with a crew of coordinators, unfortunatley the stroller that was donated died relatively early and the old stroller came back in. About 6 months or so into the Swap the stroller was lost. How Safetymom EVER found the bag with the scrapbook I'll never know...but I do know she worked very hard to find both the stroller and the bag. :goodvibes
THEN...another DISer offered her stroller and I decided that since I was moving from NJ to FL that it wouldn't be that difficult since I was so close to WDW. I came out of retirement and SS3 was born.
The response to SS3 hasn't been even close to SS1. During the SS1 I had lists of swappers, sitters, and people on stand-by. There were never lapses in swaps and the stroller never sat anywhere unattended for long. This time I have had to post openings, hop on "who's going" lists and send PM's to people that I saw were going during open swap times, on down times I had the stroller in my closet or Safetymom had it at her house.
Since the SS3 began, swappers had begun "dropping off" the stroller wherever and whenever and not following the simple basic rules that went with being a part of the SS3. The rules were simple, make arrangements, meet, swap, add a lime green ribbon (ribbon supplied), take a pic (camera supplied) and do a scrapbook page (supplies supplied). Not technically difficult right?
I realize that people are on vacation and don't want to loose any precious Disney time but really 5 min of your time to say "hello" and give another DISer the stroller isn't that big of an intrusion. It states in the "rules" to make EVERY effort to meet in person....that this was MORE then another FREEBEE. Sadly this wasn't followed and on more then one occasion someone has had to do a stroller hunt. This time....it's gone.
Community was the BASIS for the Stroller Swap somehow that was lost as was the stroller and the bag so to me that says....well it's time to end.
I have, for the most part, enjoyed running the SS's, I loved looking through the scrapbook and I enjoyed meeting other DISer's at the beginning or end of their trips.
I will be PM'ing the upcoming swappers to tell them that I am sincerely sorry that this has come to an early end. :guilty:

mom2of2, I just got back from Magic Kingdom. The stroller was not there. I checked in at several locations to see if the stroller might be there and it wasn't.

I am so sad to think that the stroller and especially the scrapbook is gone. :( It was wonderful while it lasted.

thanks Safetymom. I appreciate all your help tell your DD thanks too!!!

i have a nice full size stroller that we dont use anymore i was gonna it away on freecycle i would be more than willing to give it to the DIS
let me know

Unfortunately Kelly, I think that the Stroller Swap is now part of DIS history. :(

And I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mom2of2 for the countless hours of hard work that she gave to this wonderful program over the past several years.

Thank you Mom2of2!

Aww. I"m sorry this happened. I just went on to let you know we'll be available to stroller sit in a couple of weeks, and saw this. So sorry to see it happened.

That is too bad. I was so anxious to get in back in the glory days and it was always full. I am saddened and surprised to see that care of it dropped off so. You all inspired the first Dis Pal Mickey swap that I coordinated!

The Stroller Swap went down in DIS TOR EEEEEEEEE!

Lol, at this point I can laugh at least. Thanks for the kind words all

As someone who benefitted from the stroller swap, I want to thank everyone who coordinated it and kept it going for so long. When I was in WDW in August, it was a great benefit to us. I kept thinking what a great idea it was and I was happy I was able to get in on it.

Thanks again.

Same for me. I passed it to you Joy and I loved the stroller swap. I am sorry it is missing it was a great help for us.

Joy hope you had a great vacation.

I was one of the lucky ones to use the stroller on ss1. It worked out perfect for us and we had a good time doing our page in the scrapbook. What a great idea, you should be proud that it was such a success for so many people. We were scheduled to get it again last January when it disappeared right before our trip. Anyway, I just wanted to say "thank you." It was a great service to us and we met a couple of really good people!

it was at magic kingdom near the busses right next to a garbage can. I remember saying to my DH that it looked like a perfectly good stroller that someone was getting rid of. Was mainly blue with other colors with like a confetti design on it? Gosh I wish I knew it was the DIS stroller I would have taken it under my wing.

We asked a POP cast member a few years ago that we were going to leave our stroller and if they could dispose of it for us. It wasn't folding easily and we had another at home. ANyway he told us they take them and recycle them and donate them to needy community families. SO maybe call a resort and see if they still do that. You may be able to at least track down the scrap book. What a shame.

Yes, the stroller was blue and had an inside print of sun bursts and squiggle lines. I still have faith that the scrapbook and bag will show up.

Thanks for the kind words tiggercrazy. The SS1 was a great swap and the SS3 didn't start until February. Sorry you didn't get another chance to participate.

A someone who used and then "sat" the DIS stroller in the past, I want to say thanks to all who made an effort to make this work.

mom2of2, DMRick & safetymom-thanks for playing integral roles in keeping it going, finding it when it was lost, etc....

I know when we were "sitting" the stroller in Jan 2004 it was really apparent that some people were signing up & then deciding it wasn't worth their time. I distinctly remember placing a few long-distance phone calls and having to pay to use the internet in order to contact someone to figure out where the heck the stroller had been left, etc....

Sorry it DISappeared, but thanks for the memories! :)
