Obviously one of the minority here, but I have bought MORE at the Disney store since CP took over. Yes, there is less adult stuff, but if I want adult stuff I can order it online. However, I have found so much more for my son, and my nieces and nephews. And the sales have become more frequent, which for me is good, because a lot of the time I can only afford to buy the stuff that is on sale.

And the one near us has just as friendly of personnel as they did when Disney owned it. Actually, they are a little less over-the-top friendly, which makes me a little more comfortable, because I don't feel like a salesperson is stalking me.

I don't think that The World of Disney Store in Manhattan is owned by Children's Place...maybe it's like the MCO/Orlando Airport stores that are direct arms of Disney World?

AS a former cast member for the Disney Store I have to agree It is mess.

I retired in May and my first visit back was this Christmas.

We use to have 50 Caat Members, Everyone was so happy. One thing I can thank the Disney Store for is the education they gave me on "How to be a disney cast member."
Well anyway when they took out all the good merchandise it made them go into the red. Believe me it was done on purpose.

I am on the side that does not think it was an improvement. The one in the Mall of America is the most atrocious store I have been in in a looooong time. It just does not look Disney at all. Yuck. The one in a mall nearer to us, is a bit better--at least it still looks Disneyish, but it has NO adult clothes at all and seems to specialize in cheap plastic toys. And the employees!!!! They are completely clueless about Disney.

THD hasn't been the same since they took out all the high end collectibles and displays. THose stores were almost beautiful but they were gone long before CP took over.

However the ones by me are about the same as they were before the takeover. MOst of the staff stayed on. One even has the big stuffed animal pile and big screen running Disney movies.

Our store is nice. The CM's are nice. It doesn't look that much different.....
BUT while the clothes are okay, I thought the Christmas things were terrible. Very shoddy workmanship.
Too many cheap plastic toys.
No art work Not many collectibles. Mugs are alright.
Not enough adult things.....I LIKE to buy Disney things

I have to say that the one by me still has the same Mgr & employees so the service is still great. And I have bought DD5 alot more clothes there this year. Our store stoped having the collectables a long time ago. It gives me another reason to head to WDW.

well I have never done drugs so i can't compare the op's reference...

but I went into ours over the holidays -
and didn't buy a thing because of the long lines...
didn't even go to the back of the store cuz it was too crowded
looked ok 2 me though!
but I order most of my stuff online anyways!
