Good evening DISers! I hope you all had a good Saturday?

I didn't receive any PMs asking for any more reassurance about the project so does that mean you are all okay at this point? If what I said earlier helped you, I'm glad that I could do so. Just remember always that if there is any doubt or something you are worried about, you can come to us in PMs and we will help where we can.

I've heard from the Tag Fairy that they wanted to post another clue, so I gave them my next picture clue to post. I am not sure when they will be posting it, but keep your eyes open!

I'm still here for a few minutes to do some catch up with Ty and some other "celebrities".

So.. about 50 or so hours left until the clues are no more.

Anyone going to miss them?

Just a reminder to everyone, if you do choose to PM a concern, it will remain confidential between you, myself and Ty. It is not going to be published or passed around to other members, so feel free to PM us if you are shy.

On that same note, we expect the same from you. The confidential conversations are not meant for broadcasting or sharing.

And of course, if you PM us and ask "Is XXX the secret project".. well, we can't tell you until Tuesday.

I haven't read everything yet, but I agree that we need to group clues into two cateogories ones that stand alone and others that go together. We only have a few days to put the clues together to make it work. Back to getitng caught up.

Ok, so I got up to page 25, and saw Ty's clues- I am sorry if it has been figured out already, but I think the clue to the poster who has guessed right is CTDad. Did everyone else think so too?

First clue is "shark"- as in shark bait, as in his nemo quote in the siggie. Also, his first ticker is for a cruise.

Second clue is "cars"- his second ticker has a car in it.

Anyone else?


Just reposting what I wrote on the other board- sorry, but I just feel like I have maybe finally contributed something to this project!

1) That must have been a Ty clue since I have no idea. I'm sure Ty will answer you on that one
2) I told you guys not to put too much stock in Tommy Lee because I had no idea where Tommy Lee was going with that one. All I know is that I was trying to get "PA" from you for Pa Ingels.
3) The furnace picture was of people making Crystal pieces. One of the prizes scheduled to be given away is a beautiful crystal piece

Since Ty and myself and all the other judges will be working during the holidays as well, we understand your concern. I can say that we will probably schedule our "easiest" challenge the week of Christmas so that not as much time is needed to work on it.

We would like to run the challenges in a non traditional "week" - in otherwords, not starting on a Sunday and going though Saturday. Maybe a Weds - Tuesday. That way if you are going on a vacation, chances are you will have a few days to get your challenge in.

This was a direction from the lawyers that because of the nature of the prizes, you had to be 18 yrs old or over to win. Same as with non-US residents, we tried to find a way around it, but couldn't.

Will an answer from Tim work?

I don't forsee any more "fine print" to read.. we have pretty much laid it on the line as far as how things will work.

Tribal Council will be held with your specific team if you do not win the challenge that week. You will be asked who did what in the challenge, who pulled their weight, who didn't. And then each team member will be required to vote off someone from their team who did not "make it work". Unfortunately history has shown us that there is always someone who sits on the sidelines and lets everyone else do the work. This is how people are held accountable for their actions.

Once you progress to individual challenges from team challenges, the people that are voted out every week will be decided by the scores they get on their project. Lowest judges scores are the people voted off that week.

Sure, a bit of thick skin will be necessary since everyone can't win. Best thing I can say to you is if you work hard, think creatively and pull your weight, you will go far.

And good sportsmanship to me includes things like repectful behavior between teams (okay, some "trash talk" might be fun but all in jest of course.. you never know when your competition may become your ally!), no cheating, no underhanded dealings like PMing judges and trying to beg or bribe for better scores.. stuff like that.

1. We started out with a number in mind but based on how much interest has been shown, we are going to wait a few days to see how many people are interested and see if we can "redo" our math to add more.

As I mentioned earlier, we are trying to schedule the challenges so that if you are gone for a week on a typical vacation schedule (weekend to weekend) you would have a couple of days to work on the project. If you are creative and have skills and you are dependable, you shouldn't worry about the survivor aspect of it. The only part that hints towards survivor is the fact that you will have a tribal council where we find out who did what and who didn't do their part of the project.

Lets say that players a, b, c and d are on a team. We will expect that there be a log with who did what and who was assigned what task to complete the project. In tribal council, it is found that a, b, and c completed all the work and d didn't do anything, we would expect to see d as the one voted out. We have to see reasons which would be evident in the project log. It will not be a matter of b and c like d better so they want to vote out a even though they did a lions share of the work. We would call a flag on that one.

Besides, team play only lasts part of the game. Before long, you will be a team of one.

As you have seen, we have over 20 judges for Extreme WPASADI. Due to busy schedules, each judge may not be able to review each challenge but we have a goal of at least 10 judges reviews per challenge. The score given your project by each judge will be added together for a final score. So it is a group decision.

And in case this question comes up, your entries will be presented to the judges anonymously so they will not have any idea who did the project they are reviewing.

I'm sure that the person that gets voted off will know ahead of time that it is happening since your team will be keeping a log of who did what in working on the project. Plus voting will be held in secret so you do not have to post it out in the open for all to see.

I don't forsee a problem. Teams may be able to win the ability to ask me one question regarding their project before turning it in. I may be visiting each team during the construction process to check on things and give encouragement or advice. Same thing my alter ego does on Project Runway.

There may be a chance that judges will occasionally act as mentors but they will be disqualifying themselves as a judge that week if they do.

And when the judging process takes place, the judges receive the projects with no team or player names attached to them. They have no idea who they belong to. There is no chance of "favoritism" happening.

Coming soon will be a non-US residents version that you will be able to partake in. The only time things would change (and not necessarily "rules") would be to benefit everyone. Like extending the sign up date so people that are away this week will be able to apply - or finding a way for more people to be able to play..

Of course, I don't view the application deadline or the number of contestants as a "rule" . To me the rules are things like "no cheating", "Projects must be in by the posted time", etc.

There may come a time that maybe things will change. Maybe a deadline set for December 15th at midnight might be extended out for one reason or another, but I can guarantee you that this extension would be instituted way in advance to the point that all teams would benefit from it. It would never be a case like "Teams A, B and C have their projects in at midnight, Team D doesn't. We decide at 12:15 to give Team D until noon. Not going to happen because ALL teams didn't benefit from the change.

Does that help clear it up?

And about the subboard - that's up to the Webmasters. I get the feeling it more than likely will happen though!

That would be your Instant Messaging ID. Like on AOL (AOL Instant Messaging) or MSN or others. Just a way that your team could chose to contact each other if they decide. Its not required though

If we see evidence in your previous posts that show you have participated in the boards you chose to represent in the past, that's fine. By choose carefully, you want to think about all the boards you post on - whether you want to pick the 3 busiest boards you post on (which may have more people signing up) or maybe throw one or two of the slower boards that you post on which may have more available openings on the teams due to less people posting on those boards.

It's a little smaller. There are 5 of us that will go through the applications to develop the teams. If more people apply than we can physically work into the game without us having to run it until Fall of 2007 , we will use the qualifiers like the why do you want to be considered and the "number" question to determine who makes it.

I haven't heard anything from the head honchos that said that CMs can't participate. I don't see why you can't play because this contest is bring run by The DIS and has no official ties to WDW other than someone gets a pretty darn nice vacation there with 3 other people at the end of the game!

All the celebrities that have been playing along during the clues are your judges. I'll try to list them all for you. If I miss anyone, don't yell at me! I'm working off of short memory here!

Judges - Kelly Ripa, Regis, Tommy Lee, Kellie Pickler, Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, Randy Jackson, Jeff Probst, Dennis Miller, Phil Keoghan, Rosie O'Donnel, Oprah, Donald Trump, Chef Gordon Ramsay, Judge Marilyn Milian, Julie Chen, Paris Hilton, Ellen DeGeneres, Richard Simmons, Stacy and Clinton, The Tag Fairy and of course Ty and myself - if we are not mentoring that week and have no contact with the teams we may take the opportunity to judge. Not sure if I got everyone so judges, forgive me if I forgot you!

As far as what you are saying about what I said being taken as a rule.. I'm not following. Can you give me an example of what you are talking about?

And the seperate forum question, that has been mentioned to the webmasters but that will be up to them as to whether it happens or not. Unfortunately, Ty and I do not have the powers to make a new board. It would be way too dangerous to give us that power!

Nope, audience players are not limited. Everyone that signs up will be able ot play along in the audience If you sign up to play and do not make it to a team, you will automatically be part of the audience participation unless you decide not to play along.

This will run slightly differently than the first games. The first games were run independantly of the DIS. This time we have more resources available to us

The nickname is a fun way for us to refer to you during game play.

You will still be posting everything under your original user ID, although all work that you do with your team will be in a private area that only your team members will be able to access, so everything will be very secure.

I think the time involvment has a lot of different aspects - based on how hard the challenge may be that week, how fast you are yourself.. me, I'm a very fast worker. I may be able to finish something in an hour that another person may need 2 hours for, so I'm a bad person to answer that question.

The one thing I want to point out is that a good part of these challenges could be worked on when you are not on the computer. Take the song challenge I posted earlier.. most of that could be done offline so you can do a little bit here and a little bit there. And no, the song challenge will not be used this time

Will it be easy? No. There is work involved and you will have to tough it out to win the big trip (or the Cruise) But I can tell you that it will be fun. Talk to MsLeFever. She played both seasons of WPASADI before and was a co-winner of season 2. Maybe she can give you more insight having been a part of the contest.

And if you decide that being a contestant isn't for you, please do sign up to be in the audience because there are still great prizes to be won! (even a stay at the Swan and Dolphin!)

Oh, I do have a spouse (no kids though) and a full time job and a part time job so I understand about time issues Both Ty and I have been dealing with that for the last few months getting ready

The weds to weds is tentative but we will be running the start and finish on weekdays to help with vacations. So it may end up being Tues, weds or thursday. It will definitely be a weekday though. We will know for sure as soon as we see whether we need an extension on the application deadline.

I think you will be fine as long as you help your team out during the days that you are available.

It does depend on the number of teams but we would like to wrap the whole thing up within about 10 weeks after starting. It will be a fun way to pass a cold winter!

Eclpz - that's weird that there was no reply button. I wonder if maybe after they PM'd you they turned off their PMs. Have you tried running a search using the search function. Click on advanced search once you are on the search page, put in their name and search. If it doesn't bring up any links to one of their posts, click on the small "advanced search" on the bottom left of the results page above the searches it pulled up and it will give you a chance to put in their screenname to search by.

You are right about how we try to fit you in by your first choice, then second, etc. But there is no preferential treatment based on whether you chose a board first vs third as to whether you make the cut. It's based on a few variables and what number you picked it as isn't one of them

Yes you do! There are some basic design sites out there that talk you through it, you will be working as a team to begin with so you will learn with each other and the most important part is we are not looking for flashy websites. We are looking for the ideas, concepts and how well you follow the challenge rules. Not whether you were able to chop the head off of one guy and put it on the other.

Whomever is handling the entries that week (accepting them from the teams and posting them for the judges to review) will be exempt from judging that week. So if I have had any contact with the teams, whether from mentoring or posting the projects, I will not review that week.

Hmm.. we've never had that question brought up before.

As far as I can see, asking a spouse or child to proofread your entry would be no different than running it through a spell check engine so I don't see a problem with that.

I also don't have a problem with running brainstorming ideas past your spouse but we would have to draw the line at them doing any actual work like the writing of the project, or finding pictures to go along with your project, etc. If you wanted to say to them "Do you think I should repaint the Grand Floridian Purple or Blue for the challenge" is fine. Having them go in and take a picture of the GF and actually recolor it blue or purple for you isn't.

Does that make any sense?

I can't give you any firm odds since I have no idea what the final numbers will be, but I can tell you that Ty and I are going to do whatever we can to work the schedule so as many people as possible can play
