DIS Site Dedication

How many of you have been like me? When you hit the DIS site, you run to the Timeshare forum? or some other forum?

Well, I have a recommendation for you. Take some time and browse the site. I don't mean, just look at the opening page. I mean really browse.

How many of you have read the site dedication? You can find it at the bottom of the page.

READ IT.

Wow, it really says alot about our host.

I have read it several times and it always brings tears to my eyes and is one of the many reasons I just love the DIS!!! I always feel like I am in "good company" when I am here.

When I first discovered the DIS, that is the first link I hit on the DIS homepage.

It's almost a year and I'm still here....made an impression on me.

You know, running this site can be a thankless task some times. When folks take the time to post something like this, it really means the world to me. My Father was a wonderful man, and even though he's been dead more than two years, I still miss him. He loved the site...he used to surf the boards all the time (he was afraid to post), but he would call me up and point out when someone was being nasty or rude, or if he found something funny or interesting. He was amazed at the whole thing, and I"m very greatful that he had a chance to see it 'blossom' before he died.

I don't know what to say.......I've got a huge lump in my throat that's going to be there awhile. Absolutely wonderful dedication !!! He must have been quite a guy. I've been sober for 18 yrs. next March so I kinda know the road he traveled and have great admiration for a man of character like your father.

Thanks for pointing out the site dedication. I remember reading it a few years ago when I first started visiting the DIS boards. I'm now wiping the tears from my face after re-reading it. Pete - I'm sure your dad is very proud of you and the wonderful job you do with this site. If I don't visit daily I feel like I've missed something. I always have a Disney trip of some kind on the horizon and I get the best information from all the great posts. Thanks for providing us all with access to information about our favorite place in the world!

I first read the dedication when I did what Nink suggested and took an evening to really get to know this site. I've read it more than once. I was so struck by it that I decided to become a sponsor and support this endeavor.

Nink, thanks for the reminder. It's been a while since I even read the main page much less the beautiful dedication.

I remember when Pete's father died. I think I was still just lurking then. It was such a beautiful eulogy.

Pete, thanks for everything! I'm sure your father is so proud of you.
