That article has a link to the upcoming livestream of this presentation on SXSW's YouTube channel, and I see no indication that one has to pay any kind of SXSW fee to watch it.

It's at 9:30 PT/12:30 PT on Saturday.
The livestream is just about to start. The title slide is up.

Disney Executives Audition to Be the Company’s Next CEO
The two leading candidates to succeed Bob Iger have delivered public performances that address their perceived weaknesses.

I've read the profiles of both Alan Bergman and Josh D'Amaro on The Walt Disney Company’s official website, and I think, if they go with an internal candidate, they should make those two guys the co-CEOs of Disney (taking a page out of Netflix’s book). Alan and Josh have been at Disney since 1996 and 1998 respectively, back when the legendary Michael Eisner was still in charge, so I believe they know some tricks from Eisner, which might help make Disney great like it used to. Dana Walden, on the other hand, has no such history with Disney since she came to the company after their purchase of 21st Century Fox.

What to Expect During Disney’s Annual Meeting
Shareholders vote on Iger’s pay package and climate risks to workers.

Hard to defend that pay for that kind of performance...

One possible reason was Iger’s pay package combined with the stock’s underperformance (Last year, just 80% of shareholders approved while the median S&P 500 approval rate is 93%). In the fiscal year ended Sept. 30, 2023, he earned $31.6 million, while Disney stock fell 33.8% and shares of a peer group supplied by the company rose 28.3%. In fiscal 2024, Iger’s package climbed 30.0% to $41.1 million, while Disney stock fell 21.0% and the peer group returned 79.6%. (For comparison, median CEO direct compensation rose 7.8% that year.)

They had to re shoot the dwarves scenes since they originally were going to use live actors.
I understand reshoots.

1. - Typically, major movie studios will budget reshoots into the initial production budget. For instance, Marvel Studios will budget for reshoots in advance of actual filming.

2. - My comment is more about the initial budget that someone at TWDC greenlight to make this movie, because if the budget is now North of $250M it suggests the initial budget was extremely large.

He's supercharging existing parks, but not new ones unfortunately.

The existing parks still have space though. They haven't quite reached critical mass at them yet. Maybe DLR could use an actual expansion, but WDW is not quite ready for that 5th gate. It could get there though if they keep it up!

Good point.

IIRC, this was due to start shooting in March 2020, but got punted. That had to add money to the budget, too, right? As did the strikes which, officially, are the reason it got pushed a year (yeah, I don't really believe that, but ya know).

Theoretically, a live action, official version of the first full length Disney animated feature sounds like a good bet.

Aren’t they working on that DisneylandForward expansion?

Hong Kong Disneyland and Shanghai Disney Resort surely need to be expanded with a second gate for both resorts.

Right now, under Bob Iger, Disney is trying to replace existing attractions/space for new ones, because of corporate greed and IP capitalism.

Aren’t they working on that DisneylandForward expansion?
Yes. They got the zoning changes they wanted almost a year ago, but haven't announced any actual plans. In fact, I just noticed that the Disneyland Forward website has disappeared. The URL https://www.disneylandforward.com/ now forwards to a single page on a website of the Disney Experiences division:

https://disneyconnect.com/disneyland/disneylandforward/

There is some information on the City of Anaheim website:
