One of mine is the notorious "loose" vs "lose". Drives me crazy to see someone say "I hate it when I loose things." or such.

Oh! Add this to mine! It amazes me how many people cannot spell LOSE.

I read this thread with great interest. I am greatly surprised that Monkeyboy has so much pent up hostility! And he always seemed like such a happy monkey!

(I'm even afraid to choose a smilie. Which one will set him off!!! )

I admit to using the ellipsis (...) too often. (in my defense, I use the ellipsis to combine what would usually be separate thoughts that are somewhat related. Others may use a semi-colon, but to me that just seems way too formal)

(I'm also guilty of using too many parenthetical remarks (up to, and including nested parentheticals), but nobody's complained about that yet ... and I've even used overly nested parentheticals in an academic paper, so I don't think that anyone on the DIS is going to change me)

Well its not really a peeve against anyone but kind of annoying- when I mouse over thread titles the smilies become text, so I read it as such. For example Iread it as: "I had to go to the hospital today earseek" or "I did a funny thing today banana".

I do that too! lol... For the same reason, it just happens without me noticing... I have also over used ellipsis in papers...

It annoys me when there's a spelling error in the title of the thread.

Sometimes it's not a spelling error, but a word error. For example, "Useless Poll: What color's you skin?" (No offense lewdyan1!)

"Dis Hates" we don't say that word in my house. It is not allowed. I am personally offended by your OP and I think you need to find a way to get along with all of us, including those of us with a dissenting opinion. My father used to say hate and it is really a horrible word. I can't even speak! Or Type! Keep acting this way and you will loose all your Dis friends!

This one is mine as well! I'm always like...***! Why would you take the time to come online and type out a message before going to the ER for whatever reason. You don't need to check in with me to see if it's ok.

Oh I have another Pet Peeve-

When people get all excited over the Tag Fairy. I couldn't care less about tags, who's tagged, who the Tag Fairy is, etc. I don't even look at the tags (except for my own and if you don't care about mine, its ok), and the ones I have looked at I don't even "get", because they are inside jokes or something.

My pet peeve is the people who scream "why can't we all just get along" when people are having an interesting discussion with differing viewpoints and everything is civil. It's much to cuddly and cutesy for me.

Next time I do it please PM me. I spell pretty well - I just don't spell check very well, and I can't type worth a darn, so when I make an error I'm embarrassed!

I hate it when I've made a really glaring spelling mistake -- and I don't notice it right away -- and it's even worse if people have quoted me a couple of times - it's like the mistake is taunting me!!!!
