DIS oldtimers (well newtimers too) where are you?

....:scratchin am I an "Oldie, but goodie", or a "Newie, but freshy"...??!?!?:confused3

....* sigh *, I sure DO miss Dan's "musical" pix posts, though......;)

I just wanted to say hi. :wave2:

I was on the DIS around 2001 for quite a while... then drifted away for a few years. :hourglass When I came back, I had forgotten my username, had a new email address etc.., so I registered again. :surfweb: I still mostly lurk, but really love my time on the DIS. :goodvibes

I have a big DIS regret. On one of our trips to WDW, we were walking through Epcot, and I saw Dan Murphy! I was so tempted to go say Hi, but I chickened out. :rolleyes1

Low and behold, I noticed a post by Dan on one of the boards and I see that he will again be at WDW while we are going to be there! :yay:

So... this year, no regrets... If I see Dan... I'm going to say hi! :wave2:

I consider myself a middle ager. Don't post much but nice to see so many oldies hanging in.

Hi Dan!

I will definitely wear the label as "old-timer" & even though my post count isn't so high, I've been on here a long time.

I remember when it was only just a few, and maybe just ONE board & it was the webmaster's job to keep us on topic! Which probably ended up being a good thing because out of the frustrations to keep posters on topic the community board & others were born.

I remember when Pete was a frequent poster!

I remember corn people, someone's bird story & emu threads!!

It's been so much fun seeing it grow & change, seeing new faces & making new friends.

You were the first one to post "Rainbow Bridge" when one of us would lose a pet, myself included. Your posts are always thoughtful, articulate & kind.

It's good to see you again! I miss your picture posts & enjoy the ones of your grandson when you post them.

Don't stay away so long this time. :)

I love when this thread jumps on to page one!!! Hello all! I still love to hear those crickets chirping at Wilderness Lodge. That seemed to be all I ever posted about way back in the days of two boards.

Karen

Hi Dan:wave2:
I went and checkout your pictures again...(I have roadunner now:rotfl: I can see them now)

wow ~ that was good...:goodvibes
i do remember (with some gentle nudging, of course ;) ) the emu talk, the "one board"....discussions were different, mostly straight out WDW questions, trivia (btw, look how big ron & marie's list has gotten), just a little banter. (heck i remember the TDC ~ & it was so nice seeing some familiar faces my first time on the DIS).
even deb will's & mary's sites are no longer little "what i know about disney" pages ~ they're, like DIS, listed in publications, referred to by anyone "in the know", etc
guess as WDW has grown, so have we. thankfully, the same thing that bound us then, keeps us together now.:grouphug:

:thumbsup2

Hi All  I'm not an oldie and certainly not a newie....I'm a tweener :thumbsup2 Certainly have enjoyed reading these posts. What a great idea Dan. Thank you!

:grouphug: To all DISers old and new

 Just stopping by to say hello. :) I'm what Dan Murphy likes to call a "DIS-Goner". LOL This is a fun thread to check in on from time to time. Hello oldies, newbies and tweeners.

Hi Tia!!! :)

Just dropping by to let the oldtimers know that my DS James (who has always made fun of my association with the DISboards, but in a loving way) has been accepted into the Disney College Program. I will be driving to WDW with him in mid-May and he will working in attractions before the end of that month. We don't have his specific assignment yet, but whatever it is, I'm sure that he will be an excellent castmember. He last day in the college program will be New Years Day. My DW Sue has promised "multiple" trips to WDW this summer to see James.

Hello Tia & John!

Tia, my first DIS ornament exchange sender! I still put your ornaments on my tree every year! :goodvibes

John, congrats to DS! Truly a DIS Son now!!! ;) (Funny story, my own DIS-doubting brother is now a DISer and DVCer! His screen name is blamemysister!!) :rotfl: Have a wonderful time this summer!! :wizard:

:grouphug:

Hi John, Hi Kim.

John, congratulations to your DS! That is so awesome!! :woohoo: And sweet Sue, maybe she'll catch the fever too now. ;)

Kim, I put my DIS ornaments on my tree each and every year too. I love them all. Memories of good times, for sure. :cool1: LOL about your brother, his username is hysterical. :rotfl:

Hi, again, everyone. John, congratulations to James! That is so cool! And, it's a double bonus that you'll just have to make extra trips to see him. Did I hear "more points"? :lmao:

You'll have to let us know where he is, so we can visit him! When do you take him down? Some of us will be there until the 12th.

Kim, funny story. Funny brother!

Hi, Tia! :goodvibes

Hi Dan, just noticed the dates at the bottom of your sig. I'll be staying at the Saratoga 3/4-3/6 wrapping around SS with days at the Camden Reserv apt in Orlando! Going to the Podcast meet Sunday May 4th too! Would love to see you and any other ole-timers there!

From one oldtimer to another I say, Hey John!! Please let us know when James starts his position as I'd love to stop by to say hi to him when we're there this summer!!

I'm a oldtime lurker (remember the corn people!) but through all the years I have always thought that Dan is the Disser we all should strive to be, always kind, helpful, and post truly great pics. Thanks Dan
