Dis Old Fogies Clubhouse – Six of One, Half Dozen of the Other. Makes No Difference!

I hope all the fogies are feeling better soon.

Bret, everything looks delicious!

The food looked good and it was good.nthe cheese soup was my favorite just like at the Canada kiosk at Epcot.

Thanks Bret! Do they have Epcot style kiosks set up? I will find out this afternoon, but we won't be doing exploring or tasting. well have to save that for next of the following weekend. Still not all better but I'm not missing Robert Irvine, especially since we paid through the nose.

We r both in the queue for the Robert Irvine seminar and the kiosks looked standard which the Epcot kiosks are fancier. It would be nice for you to try to food today but I understand of you waiting till next week with Chef Sutton. The seminar is not cheap.

Enjoy the Food & Wine Festival. I'll be working on my taxes.

Thank you Angela, usnuz and PiO.

Okay Bret I am waiting on those two items….:rotfl:

Alison, how was Robert Irvine?

Well Bret was there too! He was a lot of fun with a mix of serious in there. It was worth going out even if I was sick, but I'm getting ready to hit the hay and I hope I'm down for the long haul. I did too much in the last two days.

Good heavens, I joined DIS several years ago (but lost my profile during a recent hiatus). I date back before WPSADI, and I don't remember an Old Fogies Club! Did I (mecllap) belong to it?

(And I miss my Tag Fairy tags).

Welcome back to the Dis and the Old Fogie's Clubroom.

But....I need a universal translator. What's WPSADI???? :confused3

It's the Old Fogie's club. I don't remember. ;)

I think there's a long line ahead of you on this one.

The food was very nice during the DCA F&W Festival. I wished I could have ate more but time goes by very quickly and was busy on Sunday.

I was able to talk to Alison before and after the seminar. It was well worth seeing that seminar where he is a very nice guy and has a great personality. The seminar was crazy as well which Disney had problems with the audio at the beginning and luckily they were able to fix it. Hope you feel better.

Here are some pics from that Saturday. I really like this one close to the start where he was back in the kitchen and he didn't like the camera in the kitchen.

I'm glad you got that one of him objecting to the camera back stage. That was totally rehearsed and pretty funny even though. I may steal it as I don't think I got that picture as good as you did!

Update on me:

Still no job. I don't know if they really don't want me or if they just are being slow. Either way, I will be doing more resume submitting and keep plugging forward.

We may not be selling our house and moving. I was so excited to finally move in to the city. I never wanted to live this far out (20 miles to the center of the city, but about 10-15 from most of our life happenings.)

But after 3 full days out house hunting, we are reconsidering. The costs of houses have gone up tremendously and we would have to spend $100K more for a house that is about 3/4 the size of what we have now and far less land. Add to that the higher tax rate, realtor fees, and closing costs, and we are looking at a grand total of about $200K over the course of 10 years, just for the privilege of living in another 5-10 miles.

For $200K we can help fund the kids' college.

We had a couple of long talks and decided to look instead at changing our lifestyle. Some of the heavy driving is coming to an end, which was a huge driving force in wanting to move. We will no longer be homeschooling so all those HSing activities up in the city will stop. My son has opted not to do the charter school next year, so that is a huge change (it is 20 miles away!), we are changing scout troops for my youngest, and will look for something down here now. And there is more, but you get the idea.

I did negotiate a few things......told DH if we are staying here, we need to do some things I have always wanted to do but we kept saying, "The next owners can take care of that" like the fence repair, the pool deck, the storage shed built, etc....

In some ways, this is a big weight lifted.....moving is SO much work. In other ways it is a dream unfulfilled and a let down.

Oh my gosh! Love that picture of him rejecting! Hope the chewing out wasn't to bad Bret! But it is great to see him, thanks for sharing.

We miss the TF as well, I think we are on our 5th club house adventure. I have no clue what WPSADI is. But come on in and join us…we don't bite now...:rotfl:

Nothing to see here... Just a bear in a rocking chair. I thought this was cute...

I got in a car accident last night on my way home from work. It was raining and the traffic ahead of me was stopped, so I hit my brakes to slow down and the car hydroplaned and I hit the car ahead of me.
