After reading it and seeing all the alerts on the top right hand side on Chrome.

I saw @franandaj and Jenny post on my @rentayenta when I logged in to the threads.

So the @ makes an alert? I already font pay attention to the alerts! I do check them occasionally but figure that I will see what ever it is in my quoted posts.

I'm slowly working out how to sort things out between alerts and checking the Watched Threads function. I've turned off alerts for new posts on the Watched threads. And I'm seeing less alerts. But I'm not sure if I will keep with this state of play as the Watched threads function doesn't seem to work like I would prefer. I'll live with this set of play for a bit and then change it up again. We'll see.

When you check your alerts, I've noticed that you can tell the difference between:

• Someone else REPLIED to a thread
• Someone LIKED one of your post
• Someone QUOTED one of your post
• Someone TAGGED you

There might be more reasons for alerting you...and I haven't worked through the different permutations for thread types yet. I'm liking this functionality as it means I can work out whether I want to check out a thread or not, depending on what the alert reason is.
