Hi DISers! This is my first time posting on the site. I've lurked for a while and I'm an avid listener/viewer to the DISUnplugged show.
My extended family is planning a trip for Jan 3-10. This will be my immediate family's third trip and we're taking first timers Dmil, Dfil, Dsil, Dbil, Nephews aged 2 and 4 along with myself, 35, DH 43, and two sons aged 11 and 9.
This is also our first DVC trip and we're all staying on points at AKL.
So, this is my umpteenth attempt at an itinerary that tries to merge all our touring plans. Dmil likes to sleep in and take it slow, Dfil is on-the-go type, Dsil is 6 mos. pregnant. Dbil and DH are thrill-seekers. We're all over the map.
So, if any of you want to take a look-see at this itinerary, let me know what works and what doesn't, I would greatly appreciate your input.
Saturday 1/3 - Arrive at MCO @ 1:40. Take ME to AKL-Jambo House. Im counting on some downtime to rest and let the kids nap, even if were just hanging around the hotel if we cant get into our room. Its a crowded day, but if were up to it in the evening well head to MK - Myself, my husband, and our two boys have a FP for 7DMT @ 6:35-7:35. We all have FP for Mickey @ Town Square @ 8:30 and MSEP @ 10. We made a FP for Anna & Elsa @ 10:50, but in all likelihood the little ones will be long since sleeping.
Sunday 1/4 - HS - If we went to bed early then well head out at RD for an early ride on TSMM. Otherwise, we have FP for the adventurous at ToT at 9:20 (this doesnt seem the best thing to do in the a.m., but I cant figure out how to switch the times when we have different members of the party doing different things) . This is where things get a little complicated. In trying to make FP for us to do the things we all want to do (like TSMM) together, I had to make two separate reservations. One is for the five of us who rode ToT at 10:20, and the other is for the rest at 10:05. Since the window is an hour, my thinking is we will all ride at 10:20ish. Then, we have a lunch ADR at 50s PTC at 11:15, a FP for the little people crew for the Frozen sing-along at 12:10 and then another split time for ST (1:25 & 1:30).
Monday 1/5 - EPCOT - Plan is to tour FW today, starting as early as possible. FP at Soarin at 11:00, Journey into Imagination at 12:10, and then lunch ADR at Biergarten @ 1:15. Last FP for 1:50-2:50 at Spaceship Earth. Little ones will probably have to go back for a nap and the rest of us can continue to tour. Maybe add another FP?
Tuesday 1/6 - Based on our last trip, this is about when we will need a day off. So, Im perfectly fine just spending the day at the hotel, but some of the others may want to go to DtD or AK. By the 6th it should be less crowded, so I assume we can make FP reservations the day before if they do.
Wednesday 1/7 - MK - plan is to tour Fantasyland and TL. 10:30 FP for the little ones at ETwB and 11:50 to meeting A&E (assuming they didnt do this the first night). The rest of us have a FP for 7DMT @ 11:30. Then grab a QS lunch at all meet at Buzz for 12:40 & 12:50 FPs. May just take a short break for naps in the park (Carousel of Progress anyone?) or let the littles go back to the hotel for a while. For the rest, we have a FP for Space Mtn at 2:40. Dinner ADR at BOG @ 4:35early, but the only one available. A good night to go back early since we saw fireworks and parade on night one.
Thursday 1/8 - Epcotthis is the day I look forward to most. Everyone is worn out from a big MK day, so we sleep in and head to WS around noon. No ADRs, just eat and drink and watch the shows. FP for Illuminations tonight. (I made the other two for Captain EO and Character Spot just to take up space). <Btw, this day could be swapped with Tuesday if they weather is better then, but I hope we dont have to.>
Friday 1/9 - MK, most rec. Touring AL and Frontierland. No big hurry to start the day, but the earlier the better. FP for Tinkerbell for little ones @ 10:30; BTMRR for others @ 10:40. FP for Jungle Cruise @ 11:55 and Pirates @ 1:00. Somehow, I got the FPs right this day and were all together for those last two. Dont know how I did that?? ADR tonight at HDDR @ 6:15. This is another one Im really looking forward to as weve never done it before.
Saturday 1/10 - Our flight out doesnt leave until 7 pm, so Im waiting to see how we feel, but Id like to snag a lunch ADR at AKL for the Dine with an Animal Expert. My eldest would love it!
