Dis Mom's Club?

Congrats! He is absolutely adorable!

Update on us:

We finally got new orders and are living in Louisiana... Not sure how I like it yet, but I'm hoping it will grow on me. We're now homeschooling my oldest DD, 8th grader, because the schools here couldn't or wouldn't do anything for her to be able to continue high school geometry this year. They wanted to put her back in pre-algebra, which she took in 6th grade! I'm hoping to get her into the Virtual Charter school next year, because her math skills are way above my head! :rolleyes1

March/April have been a little rough around here, dealing with some tragic events that have happened close to us. My oldest DD's father was in a really bad car accident and broke his neck. Luckily he is ok and will be ok. We then found out, while we were in Florida, that the townhouse we had just moved out of 2 weeks earlier in MD burnt down in a fire cause by an 11 year old boy of the family that had just moved in there! Since it was a a townhouse all our old friends and neighbors houses were totaled! It was devastating knowing that we couldn't do anything for them anymore and that in our minds it was still "home". It took a week or so for us to get through to our youngest DS that all his stuff didn't burn.

We're getting ready to head to Texas this weekend to visit my in-laws (DH's mother and step-father)... This will be the first time we've visited them on their "turf" but since we're now just 6 hours away from them, we're going to give it a try. DH's Mom and I have not always gotten along but ever since last year when when her mother-in-law moved in for 6 months, she has been a completely different person. So I'm really hoping this small trip will be a good one.

Hope you ladies all have a fabulous day! And lets try getting this thread back at the top!

Thank you. I think he's cute too, but I may be a little bias. :cloud9:

That is a lot to have happen to someone in a very short period of time. My prayers are with you and your family and friends

Strange that the school would not accommodate your DD and her math skills. I would think that the schools would encourage higher math skills. I assume they have state standards for the schools to meet and if she can help them exceed the standards it would help the school.

Good look with your in laws. They are never easy. But after having my parents at our house for almost a month I can say it is not easy having them around either. It became clear why we are meant to grow up and leave home and why I don't have a guest room. :rotfl2:

He was born March 29. He was 6 pounds 9 ounces. He spent 10 days in the NICU after a traumatic birth and infection. He came home early Easter morning. He is perfect and we are all very much in love with him.

If I had any idea on how to post a picture I would but I don't. The best I can say is to go to my DH trip report for pictures. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2883277&page=13

He did a trip report about the birth? :rotfl:

I'm new to this thread! I'm Mandy and I've been married to my DH, Todd for 6 years (this September). We have a three year old little girl named Emily. We live in NC though are both originally from Michigan.

I discovered this forum while I was planning our Disney honeymoon. Four months after we got back from our honeymoon, I got pregnant. Since then, I've been dreaming of taking my little girl to Disney.

We were going to wait until 2014, but I convinced my husband that we should go for Emily's first trip for her 5th birthday next year! This is partly so we don't have to take her out of school and partly so we can possibly go to WrestleMania 30 in 2014. :woohoo:

Anyway - I look forward to being a part of this thread!

:welcome:

We took our two DD's for the first time when they were 1 & 3. It was the ONLY time our oldest DD was speechless!

It's possible that it's been a couple of years since I posted in this particular thread but, hello there moms! :wave2: I hope everyone's well! Things have been a bit crazy...let's see, we're still finishing up our house, we got a puppy while I was 7 months pregnant and on bedrest (:scared:) and then, obviously, I had another little guy almost a year ago now. In the midst of planning our 2013 WDW trip I managed to convince DH to go on a trip this year! :cool1: But only after a trip to Disneyland in the midst of DH's Cali business trip fell through and then an all girls WDW trip fell through for me...I had a bit of a Dis breakdown haha but all's well now! :woohoo:

:confused3 I let him do as he pleases. I think it was a good excuse for him to not update the TR.

I love the name! Very sweet pics. :thumbsup2

Thanks. We went looking for a Disney name and none of the other boy names seemed right.

This is my first post to this thread, so hi moms! I'm Shannon, single mom to Savannah (12yrs), Theresa (11yrs), TJ (10yrs), and Elliott (3 months). We developed a Disney obsession after our first trip in 2008 and have been every year since then (this will be our first year with two trips and we are so excited!) Looking forward to maybe making some mom friends that share my love for Disney.

Hi! I'm new to this thread as well (I see there are a few that have just joined :thumbsup2). My name is Helen and I am 31 years old, have been married to my husband for almost 12 years. We have four beautiful children: Larry (11), Joshua (9), Breann (will be 8 next week!) and Isabella (3). I absolutely love all things Disney, and am currently preparing for a trip from Aug. 27-31, and visiting my in-laws (they live an hour away from WDW).

Hi ladies!! :flower3:

mommys3, where are you staying? We'll be there Aug 26-31 at AKL!

I am so ready for summer. 3 weeks of school left! I'm working a condensed schedule this summer. Same amount of hours but compacted into 4 days rather than 5 days. I'm also off a week before school starts again! DH is doing the same but off a different day so we only have to pay for part time child care. On his day off he plans taking them to the zoo and on mine I plan to take them to Holiday World. We also plan to take them to Mammoth Cave, Huber Winery, and other fun stuff. My mom may take them a few days & maybe my inlaws. We may try camping in the back yard Bc both DD want to camp. My DH isn't big on camping & I haven't camped since we were dating. Of course my youngest DD will still have softball & my oldest DD will have dance/ theater. By summers end I will be whooped! Then I will go back to a 5 day work week, an easier schedule. Then 9 weeks after school is back in session then it's WDW BLT MNSSHP (2nights) and Epcot one day. We are 3 parks max people in a 6 night trip. :wizard:

Thanks for the welcome :goodvibes

My daughter and I watched the Boo To You parade on YouTube today - she now wants to go to the Halloween party. My husband said that I was trying to influence her decisions :rotfl:

I think she'd have fun - but we'll see if we can fit it in.

I highly recommend MNSSHP! You get in at 4 and party starts at 7. We do everything w/ in that time frame. It's awesome.
