Some kid on VMK (actually I'm not positive it was a kid, I don't know for sure, but this person seemed like a kid) started getting nasty because someone was blocking him at the end of a pirates game. (It happened to be CapeCAD, but that's not the point). lol
I told this person that the person in front of him was AFK, and that he wasn't really blocked in because he could leave the room at any time from where he was. He got even nastier, so I asked him to try using some manners. At about that time, a few DIS people entered the room, and Mal was there as well. I was just about to put this person on "Ignore" when I saw him say something like "everyone hates me on here anyway, I should quit VMK". Then all the DISers there, including me, decided that maybe he just needed a hug. That didn't seem to work. lol But he never left the pirate lobby we were in. That gave me the feeling that this person just needed some attention. So I sent him a friend request, which he surprisingly accepted. I asked him in private message if he was OK, and he replied that nobody liked him, and he should just quit VMK. I told him to not quit, and that we were a friendly bunch, and that he should take the time to hang around with us. At the same time, I saw some of the DISers saying the same thing to him in the pirate lobby. I asked him if he wanted to play pirates, and he said "Yes, but I'm only level I". I told him that's fine, we'll play level I with him, so CapeCAD, Mal, and I played with him. He ended up being a pretty nice kid afterall
In fact, after we played a couple of games with him, HE ended up helping CapeCAD and I help another player win on level I. I think it made him feel good to help someone out, he sounded very excited for the other person
Anyway, thanks to all the DISers who were there tonight (PurpleDuck,Mal, FlyingPegasus, and I'm sorry I forget the others) when this happened, I think together we made this angry/sad/frustrated kid feel a little better You never know what problems these kids face these days; I'm glad we were able to bring about a happy ending
