DIS Member since 2008 - First time posting?

I have been a member of DIS since 2008 when I was researching our first trip to WDW. Since then, we have taken 6 trips to WDW, including a week during Christmas. Our first Disney Cruise this past January. We had 28 people in total for our Disney Wish cruise and it was the best cruise we've ever taken. We are now booked for Disney Destiny's Maiden Voyage, and I can't believe this is my first thread post. I am always lurking and getting tips from long time DIS members, thank you for the post. Thank you from all of the others like me who gleam from your experience but are not always as vocal.

Disney will live stream the inauguration Nov 19 for newest cruise ship.
Not sure what cruise ship will be inaugurated but I plan to watch!

I only cruised with Disney once for the Panama Canal journey from DL to WDW .
Every time I am in the MK ferry boat and we are gliding into the lock position, I am reminded of that amazing trip because of the power of water as we enter the narrow position .
I can’t remember how many locks the PanamaCanal has. That was a hot hot day near the equator ! Disney had priority entry for each lock before all the other cruise/cargo ships because the President of the Panama Canal had just retired and was onboard for Disney lecture series .
We also had Joe Rhode filmed interview discussing his Disney Animal Kingdom creation before it opened, I think . I remember his words every time I walk thru the Expedition Everest Queue !
His advice filmed as he journeyed ; to always carry a notebook his entire life to sketch whatever he saw and wanted to remember . Great way to document your own personal journey with just a simple sketch ! And to innocently watch and observe the locals wherever you are.
