Dis Meet in Indy Sept 3

Bridget, I hadn't planned a meet on sunday, but I've got sort of iffy plans for this weekend. Somebody is supposed to come over to feed my dd's snakes and I don't know when he's able to be here. I'd love to see you though.

Yes he did have a camera and took a few pictures. Not sure when he will post them though. DW and I had a great time at our first DIS meet. Can't wait for another one to come up.

I was in Indianapolis over this past weekend for the National Drag Races, the biggest of all the races held throughout the country during the year. My first time there was back in '62, the first year they were held there. Sort of like the World Series, Super Bowl, Stanley Cup of drag racing.

For the past few years, Serena has been able to organize a nice DIS meet that weekend, and all have been fun, and this past weekend was also.

Last year we had the meet at Applebees, near the Indy 500 track. This year also. And it turned out very nice. Here are a couple pictures (only took a few, LOL) of those who were there. I did have a small slip of paper that I passed around for everybody to identify themselves, but alas, the paper is gone, somewhere between there and here. I think I can add names for all the folks from the DIS, not the families though. If wrong, let me know so I can change.......

Left to right, mrsmom (Kim), Serena (Laurie), one of our Tech gurus, caskbill (Bill)(I know now where he got his name from ), Bill's wife and son (sorry, names ?), coming around the other side of the table, Gary M and his wife, Lana (first met them both on our family WDW trip back in '99), simzac (Bill) and his wife (name?), my empty chair (the picture taker) and then mrsmom's daughter.

Then, this picture from the other end of the table, Bill (simzac) and his wife again, and then all of Kim's (mrsmom) family, her hubby and four children. On the right side of the table, Kim in white and her daughter, also a DIS'er here, Hey|Crazy|Beautiful (Brit), in green. And then lastly, and with a BIG thanks again, our buddy, Laurie.​

So there it is, a small, but nice sized meet. Amazing how we can always get DIS'ers together, enjoying the same camaraderie we do here on the boards, but even better, in person. If you have never been to a meet, go to the next one near you, or better yet, get one organized, you'll have fun.
