DIS Meet Dec 8 07

Congrats on DS's graduation!!!
I'm really glad we aren't going on that cruise now since you guys aren't going.

No silly... We ARE still cruising but they switched the places.. Costa Maya is not ready yet for a Ship full of people.. They were hit by a hurricane last year.. so the moved us to Grand Cayman..

We were suppose to be the first cruise after dry dock, but DCL will be done with all the repairs, fixes and updates early, so the Magic is taking a sprecial 3 night sail prior to our 7 night double castaway

We are back from our 9 days at Disney but I have some sad news to report, remember my phone I got just before our cruise, well silly me left it in the room while we ran to DHS to ride toy story mania (had a fast pass that we had gotten earlier), I didn't want to take my bag because the BAG lines had been crazy all week. I figured we could just walk in get on the ride and then head back to the room well in the 2 1/2 we were gone housekeeping came in and replaced my towels but left with my phone. I left it on the butcher block in the kitchen in plain view. I reported it but after security left the room they were convinced I lost it on the bus or left it at the park. I know I left it on the table because I put it where I could see it the second I walked in the door so I could call my dad and wish him a happy birthday.

I am upset because I had the PRIVACY PLEASE sign on my door and don't understand why they would enter the room. I took my best friend with me and she did a load of laundry while I was gone so they implied that she could have taken it. It took a lot of convincing myself to spend that kind of money on myself for a smartphone but since I had the old one for 4yrs I thought I deserved a new one. So now I am phoneless and just really to upset to get another one. I had the boys 1st school christmas party pictures on that phone, valentines day party, last day of school, 1st baseball game. I am really angry at myself for not taking the time to download them to my laptop. Thanks for letting me vent.

Oh noooooooooooooooooo!!!! I am so sorry you lost all those pictures and your phone.. I would keep complaining until they do something about it

That is terrible! I can totally understand how the loss of the pictures would just tear you apart.

Which resort was this in? Keep bugging Disney because whoever took your phone is probably still stealing from others.

In fact, if Disney won't do anything then I'd suggest filing a report with the local police.

[Cruise]

Hi all!

Well, we finally got to Disneyland yesterday for the first time. My parents, sister, and two nephews are all visiting for 10 days, so we headed down there with the kids. It was the youngest nephew's first Disney experience!

We had great southern California weather for the day - not too hot, not too cold, perfect humidity. The lines weren't too terrible. Got a fast pass for Splash Mountain, but other than that, the longest line was 45 minutes for Nemo. The other lines were only 15-25 mins each.

All in all, a good day, but it definitely wore me out.

My only other news is that I've booked another trip to Australia for August, so I don't think we'll be cruising again anytime soon. Though if DH decides to go see his family in London sometime soon, I might try to talk him into a Med. cruise! Wendy, I'll need some recommendations!

Hope everyone is doing well... Beth, I can't wait to hear about the baby (ies?). We know so many pregnant women at the moment that I'm not allowed to drink the water

I'm so sorry to hear about your phone. What really surprised me is the way Disney has handled it. Out of curiousity, have you called your phone? If so, did anyone answer? Did security ever check lost and found? The thief may have used it and then disposed of it. Keep on harping Disney. We also had the privacy sign on our door while staying at SSR. But, if it is the day for your towel/trash service they come in anyway. We know, that happened to us.

Start looking at Med cruises now, and maybe you can convince your DH that he needs to visit his family! Check out Royal Caribbean as a first choice. They have some awesome new ships! Although NCL seems to have stepped up their game - we are trying them in December - and their prices are generally better than RCI.

Australia, how cool! If I get stationed in the Pacific I want to do the Adventures By Disney trip to Australia.

It has been exactly 6 months today since they forced us to get off the Magic. While we're looking forward to our other cruises, there is something about going home to Disney that will probably never go away.

We leave 2 weeks from today for our Baltic cruise. I'll spend most of today studying for my last Air War College test this week, and then we'll spend next weekend getting organized for the trip.

The Bon Jovi concert was awesome last night!

On Jim's behalf, thank you both! He still refuses to post here, even though he always asks how all of you are.

Today is the day (we hope) that we will find out how many more grandchildren we're expecting. The people my son works with set up a lottery, and the odds-on favorite is twins. There is a very real possibility of triplets. I'm hoping for just one, but will be happy with whatever comes along, as long as they (and the rest of us!) remain healthy. More than one will definitely mean a move. My DS and DDIL will be seeing the house that's at the top of my list today, and then we'll sit down tonight and start making a bunch of decisions.

Yea! Congratulations Grandma (again!)! I am so relieved they saw TWO little heartbeats. It sounded as if your DDIL was hoping for multiples and all this waiting has paid off. Your DDIL will be in our prayers daily for an "uneventful" pregnancy and healthy twins.

Are we going to have our own DIS "guessing game"? Since your son and DDIL already have a girl, I am guessing it will be twin girls. I hope so, I love buying cute little pink dresses.

Good luck on the house hunt. We had to move when I became pregnant with Cole. Will and Cole are five years apart. There was no way they could share a room. Now, everyone has their own room and all is well.

Because of the fertility treatments, and the fact that my DS had chicken pox when he was 22, the odds are that they will be girls, but that's not guaranteed! I've already started knitting and crocheting things, but I almost always use "generic colors", so I don't have to worry about that. I just won an Ebay auction for a big lot of white baby yarn, so I guess there'll be lots of little white sweaters, hats, booties, blankets, etc. in my future.

I dread the idea of moving. I still haven't unpacked from our last move, and we've been here almost two years!
