DIS Meet Dec 8 07

Hi all!

Just checking in from BCV. We're off to DHS today. We plan to be there for rope drop and will head straight to the new Toy Story ride.

It looks like the Magic will be going to the Northern Europe in 2010. Is anyone else planning on going? We really want to do ABD to China in 2010, but depending upon where I'm stationed I may not be able to travel to China anyway, so I'm going to book when they open up. We already know they are doing 4 Baltic cruises that include Copenhagen. So I'm really curious to see what the other itineraries are. I'm hoping they have something to the British Isles, as we haven't done Northern Ireland or Scotland yet.

Take care everyone!
Wendy

I would LOVE to go on and european cruise. It just depends on how much it is. I guess we'll just have to wait a couple more weeks until they make the announcement. I've always wanted to go to the British Isles. That would be a great trip!!!

Congrats!! That is still good news for Jim..

Bedrest? Already?? Yikes!! Best Wishes for a Super Healthy Safe Fast pregnancy and delivery!! I can't wait to see Pics of them.. :flower3:

She's on bedrest because all of the hormones that she had to take have made her body "think" that it's been pregnant since January and the ligaments have started to relax. That makes her fall down a lot! She's also gotten very "front-heavy" and uses a walker for balance when she does get up. She's slightly more than half way through the pregnancy and the doctor told her that she might actually start to "tighten up" again soon, and then she'll be able to walk around a bit more. I can't wait to start posting pictures! Anyone in the area will be welcome to stop by and visit once the babies are up to receiving visitors! Beth

We'll be seriously thinking about Northern Europe for 2010! Our potential plans include a visit to England and Ireland that summer to visit a friend, so this might be just right. Jim received a bonus this month--instead of cash (which really would have been nice) they awarded him all but eight hours of his missing vacation time (the equivalent of the amount of $$$ he would have received) so that he'll actually have vacation time by November of this year instead of July of next year! Of course, we probably aren't going to be doing any traveling because of the babies. My DDIL is on bedrest now, and will probably remain that way until the babies are born. Someone needs to be home with her, so I'm going to be using some of my accumulated sick days to stay home with her when my DS can't be home. Meryl--that doesn't mean that I'm giving up on a discounted cruise for December. My DS is off the whole month, except for Christmas Day! Beth

Great news on the vacation days. Glad that DDil and babies are doing well. Bedrest does stink. I was on bedrest with my firstborn for the first trimester. Boring to the max, and back then there wasn't much to cable like there is today!! Did lots of crocheting though!!!

Beth..those cruises have already started to be discounted..but to just under 1000 as of yet...still more to go.

Keep me posted on those prices! My friend is getting her passport renewed this week, and we can travel on about two week's notice. Beth

I will let you know. Since they are already on the list, we can see what will happen. Last year it was the end of October that they lowered them..so we shall see. If they go as low as last year..599..I am going to be tempted to go again!! Just not sure if we can cheap airfare again...

Yes, this is where I've been! It was a wonderful cruise (except for the weather for two days). I was thinking of you when I spent 10 days at Pop in May for the Teddy Bear and Doll Weekend. I still love Pop and can't wait to go back again ASAP!

There's always my favorite way to travel--Amtrak! -------------------- It's official!!! Brigid Reagan and Keegan Patrick Cook will be born sometime before February 6, 2009! Of course, Brigid is a girl, and Keegan is a boy! After all this waiting we finally found out this afternoon. According to the fancy, high-tech scans, both babies are very healty, and according to their mother, they're very active! Beth

Keegan is a great name but I will just let you know that it means "the fiery one" and my Keegan lives up to his name everyday, I swear the only time that child is still is when he is sleeping----ok he isn't even still while he sleeps. He always gets these great burst of energy out of no where and that temper :rolleyes1 but he does make me laugh at least 100 times a day and when he is in trouble he still makes me smile. When he had his heart surgery and had to lie still for 6 hrs I was scared out of my mind but he came through with flying colors.

Remember I am just a PM away if your DDil wants to talk about being a twin mommy.

My DDIL knows the meaning of Keegan...and she thinks it will probably fit him very well based on his pre-birth activities. He's an active little guy! His movements are VERY noticeable now. I'll let my DDIL know of your offer to talk about being a twin mommy. This is new to all of us, since there are no twins in any of the family and we have only one friend who has twins.

Thanks! Right now I'm not sure what we need, what we have or anything else. Right now I need some peace and quiet. DDIL has started "nesting". Even though she's supposed to be on bed rest or in her wheel chair I came home Saturday afternoon to find that she had completely torn apart all of our kitchen cabinets and was very busy washing everything we own. She also made DS and DH get rid of three free-standing cabinets that we had and she's adding a table and some other things to the kitchen. By the end of the day yesterday the two men had moved every piece of furniture in the entire house except for the entertainment center in the living room and my bed! Thank God I wasn't home much this weekend, and took yesterday off to go to a funeral and didn't get back until very late in the day. I seem to have missed all the "fun". Today I'm back at work to enjoy the opportunity to sit down and relax. A cruise would be a good thing right about now! Beth

Congrats!! A new grandson and granddaughter. You current gd must be sooo happy!!

Beth, isn't Amtrack almost as expensive as flying?? If you don't mind...what does it run from Jersey to Orlando??

When we went down in May it was $129 one way from Newark to Kissimmee. It's the same price to Orlando, but it's easier to get off in Kissimmee. We got a great rate on a flight from Orlando to Newark, so we flew home--and then were upgraded to first class, so it was just wonderful! The train trip down is about 21 hours, but a lot of that is overnight. We take the 3:38 train from Newark and arrive in Kissimmee (barring any delays) at 1:28. Why don't you think about coming with my friend Leslie and me? We'd have a blast! Beth

Thanks! I have about fifty pounds of yarn in various shades of pinks and blues. Once I finish this last yellow, green and white blanket I'll be going into "real baby" mode! Jim will be very glad to see the yarn stash shrinking because it's taking up a lot of room in the bedroom--I'm a yarn addict! Beth
