DIS Meet Dec 8 07

Jen, I am so glad Bill is home and OK!! That would have scared the ya know what outta me!

Jennifer...OMG I just read about Bill. Robby and I are SO glad he is doing okay. That just gives you another excuse to take more vacations!! :goodvibes
-Tina

Thank you for all the well wishes for Bill. :surfweb: He "lurks" on here and appreciates the kind words. :goodvibes

Merryl - I would have freaked if anyone cut Emily's hair without my approval. We have NEVER cut her hair. She is waiting until it grow past her butt and then we are donating it to Locks of Love. Her hair is taking soooooooooo long to grow.:rolleyes1 I know your DD's hair will grow back. But, it obviously wasn't your MIL's place to get it cut WITHOUT your permission. I honestly can't fathom it. I hope this hasn't traumatized your DD and affects her relationship with her Grandmother. A very big trust issue has been broken. I wish you all the best in getting through the holidays. :flower3:

:surfweb: Jennifer

Pics will hopefully be coming soon. DH wants to edit out the red eye yada yada yada. I will post the link as soon as he has them!

Meryl:
I can't wait to see the pictures!

I had a lot of similar problems with Jim's mother (and, in fact, still do). She thinks that the way she raised her kids was the best way there is, and that they're all perfect. She didn't like the fact that our DS spent the first two years of his life with his feet in casts (club feet), and that he was on a special diet (food allergies). She made sure to let us know at every opportunity that we were terrible parents. Now she doesn't like the fact that DGD is home-schooled, she's sure that DS and DDIL can't afford to have twins and we should move closer to where she lives so that she can supervise. Needless to say, we don't visit very often, and DS hasn't gone to see her in a couple of years, and neither has DGD, although she will talk to her great-grandma on the phone. Good luck!
Thank you for all the well wishes for Bill. :surfweb: He "lurks" on here and appreciates the kind words. :goodvibes

Jennifer

Jennifer: I'm so glad that Bill is alright! That can be SO scary!! Take good care of him--he appears to be a keeper! ;)

Thats Awesome!!! :thumbsup2

We leave on the 25th to fly to FLorida, then we have 9 of us doing MNSSHP on the 26th and then on the 27th we have 12 of us going on the Magic!!! I can't wait.. :yay: still kinda bummed that the Magic will have a quickie prior to our 7night, we were excited we'd be the 1st trip after dry dock.. oh well.. it's still the Magic!!

Just got news from my TA and we are staying at the Poly in January...:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
I cancelled our December reservation now I am off to find some decent airfare. I am excited that I won but this trip is going to cost me a fortune since I can't add the DDP (the boys love those character meals).

Jennifer and Stacy I hope you have great weather and of course lots of fun trick or treating......:wizard:

:thumbsup2 Bill was released from the hospital yesterday late-afternoon. The stress test went well and they honestly couldn't give him a solid answer on the cause of his chest pains. He's getting close to 40 (one more year :rolleyes1 ). So, when a man "his age" complains of chest pains, the doctors seem to get concerned and automatically think it is cardiovascular. :surfweb: Jennifer

I'm glad Bill is OK. I understand the over 40 problem. :rolleyes1

JoJo also spent the weekend in the hospital. :sad1: He is home and doing better. It only cost us two cruises. :scared1:

Jennifer - I hope Bill is feeling better. I know how scary that can be. Yes a cruise is definitely in order. :thumbsup2

Merryl - I used to have a MIL from H.E. double hockey sticks. I feel your pain.

Stacy
- Don't worry about being the 2nd cruise after drydock, because now they'll be able to fix any problems before you get on. :thumbsup2

Brack - I'm glad JoJo is back home safe and sound.

Stefanie - I'm so sorry about your dog! :grouphug: I hope the boys are okay. I'm sure you'll have a great time at the Poly in December!

I hope I've caught up with everyone. I threw up some photos of our Independence cruise on the blog, and will try to edit it today/tomorrow.

We leave on Sunday for WDW, and then the member cruise!

For the Texans here Are you or do you have Family in the path of IKE? :scared:

I want to add our good thoughts, good wishes and prayers for anyone in the path of this monster storm!

Beth

Did you hear, there is a broken down Rig with 22 people on it, and the coastguard says it is too dangerous to try and save them.. :guilty:

For the Texans here Are you or do you have Family in the path of IKE? :scared:

Our DS and his wife live in Dallas. They are looking for a lot of rain.

Our prayers go out for all of our Texas friends.

Our Salvation Army units are poised and ready at the coast in case they are needed. The units we had in New Orleans area are coming home Monday unless the rain is worse than expected.

Jennifer, Bill, Stefanie and families...We will be thinking about you guys for the next few days and hope that you are all safe. Please let us know if there is anything you need!!! :grouphug:
Brack...I'm so glad JoJo is okay!!! Nothing can happen to him because he is the official Dis Dog!!!! :goodvibes

Hi all!

Checking in again after some time away. Had a great time in Australia. If anyone's interesting, there are some pics at http://s267.photobucket.com/albums/ii290/MagicCruise/ After a few pictures in Sydney, it's mostly views of the Blue Mountains and what I considered to be strange flora, so it might not be everyone's cup of tea.

Hope everyone down south is doing ok and not having many problems in the aftermath of Ike. :headache: My family in VA reports that the problems with the refineries have reached them with several stations being out of gas and those that have it being over $5/gallon. It hasn't hit out here in CA, which surprises me. We're still at $3.87/gallon for now.

Gas prices here have been crazy here too Julie. Friday gas prices here in Arkansas went from 3.60 to 4.29 overnight. Fortunately, Robby and I were able to get gas before a couple of the stations went up. It's gone down a little, but it's still higher than usual. Gotta love price gouging!!! :thumbsup2 BTW...great pictures Julie!!!! I'm glad you guys had a good time.

Hi all!

Just checking in from BCV. We're off to DHS today. We plan to be there for rope drop and will head straight to the new Toy Story ride.

It looks like the Magic will be going to the Northern Europe in 2010. Is anyone else planning on going? We really want to do ABD to China in 2010, but depending upon where I'm stationed I may not be able to travel to China anyway, so I'm going to book when they open up. We already know they are doing 4 Baltic cruises that include Copenhagen. So I'm really curious to see what the other itineraries are. I'm hoping they have something to the British Isles, as we haven't done Northern Ireland or Scotland yet.

Take care everyone!
Wendy

We'd love to do the Baltic..but we have to wait and see the prices. I woiuld love to do the last cruise before the Repo and do the repo...but not sure how DH would feel about over 20 days on ship, and the rough trans atlantic!!

We'll be seriously thinking about Northern Europe for 2010! Our potential plans include a visit to England and Ireland that summer to visit a friend, so this might be just right. Jim received a bonus this month--instead of cash (which really would have been nice) they awarded him all but eight hours of his missing vacation time (the equivalent of the amount of $$$ he would have received) so that he'll actually have vacation time by November of this year instead of July of next year! Of course, we probably aren't going to be doing any traveling because of the babies. My DDIL is on bedrest now, and will probably remain that way until the babies are born. Someone needs to be home with her, so I'm going to be using some of my accumulated sick days to stay home with her when my DS can't be home. Meryl--that doesn't mean that I'm giving up on a discounted cruise for December. My DS is off the whole month, except for Christmas Day! Beth
