. Any camping tips for me? Im not very outdoorsy
Emi,
There's a whole camping forum on the DIS. I'm sure you can get some great tips there!
I don't think I've ever seen photos of
Disneyland Tokyo before. It looks really interesting. How did it compare to the other parks?
We head to the west next year (your old stomping grounds) and get to experience Disneyland and California Adventure with the kiddos. If you can give me any tips (along with anyone else who has been there), I'd greatly appreciate them.

Walt would've been so proud of Tokyo Disney. In the states, the standards at the parks have dropped here and there. Especially when they built CA Adventure. But in Tokyo, the attention to detail is everywhere. And the CMs are all so friendly it is unbelievable. They take a lot of pride in their parks. And the rides were more sophisticated in their engineering also. The roller coasters were much smoother than in France for example. And they seemed to last longer also. I would never go there during their peak season, because the queue lines were soooo long. When we went, the sign would say "5 minute wait" and we would spend the entire 5 minutes just walking through the queue, with no one ahead of us! Some of those lines would easily be 2 hours during a crowded season. But the Japanese are very patient. They bring these plastic mats to sit on when they wait for the parades, and they'll sit there peacefully for hours. We never did get to taste the curry flavored popcorn, because the line was always huge. But the Japanese didn't seem to mind standing in line for half an hour for popcorn. The different flavors we saw throughout the parks were: caramel, chocolate, cappucino, soda, sea salt, black pepper, curry, and strawberry. It's definitely worth a trip out there. I've heard the Air Fares from the West Coast aren't bad during the off season. And I remember someone posting that they could stop in Hong Kong on the way home at no extra charge! You can use DVC points at the Disney hotels, or stay in the partner hotels which are just as accessible. The monorail is run by the Japanese rail, so you pay extra to use it. But if you stay at a partner hotel, there's a monorail station just across the street.
As far as CA goes, it's been awhile since we were there. I do remember that on the days when DL was packed, we were able to go to CA Adventure and it was almost empty. Of course do Soaring when you get to CA Adventure. Oh, and there are lots of places for the kids to get wet throughout the park. The first time I took Jasmine, I had to buy her a whole new outfit in the evening, so we could stay and watch the Electrical Parade!
DL is smaller than the MK, so it's easier to get around. When you ride the matterhorn, be sure to check the lines on both sides. There's usually a long line on one side, and a short line on the other! This is true of a lot of rides, but the matterhorn is the only ride where you can't physically see the other line. Also, unless they've added it, I don't think the matterhorn has a FP. So it'd be best to ride it first thing in the morning.
Hmmm, can't think of anything else but let me know if you have any specific questions. The last time we were there was in 2004 when we were living in San Diego. Oh, do go down to
Legoland in Carlsbad if you have time!!

UUUGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!
Today, my son and I were driving to the DMV to see about getting Florida State ID's and we were hit by a Truck!! :
Oh Stacy, I'm so sorry to hear about the accident! Thank goodness you and DS weren't hurt! I know how frustrating it can be to have to deal with all the aftermath though.
