Elaine, Lesley, Theresa, Nicky, Claire, Claire and I hi-jacked two taxis and headed off. Once at Reflex, we met Joh and Nat (after their lovely date – they’ll fill you in on that), we got the drinks in (we had our priorities right), and found some seats. We found a couple of tables “reserved for Julie”, but being the good people that we are, we decided we’d take them and keep them warm for until her and her clan arrived. Well “Julie” either didn’t turn up, or she did and she just didn’t see the tables (that might have something to do with me hiding the reserved signs), so thanks Julie whoever you are – hope you had a great night standing up
Here's us at Reflex:
The club soon filled up, and we had a good old boogie. There was plenty of “random” people around, and it made for a great night. Then came more drinks and more chatting, followed by some more strutting our stuff on the flashy dancefloor (unfortunately it didn’t revolve
) – and that was the general theme of the evening!
The cocktails were in, some larger than others:
I have no idea how I managed to get this drink from the bar, across the heaving dance floor and back to the girls. But I heard that my skills of parting the crowds were something to be proud of – not quite sure how to take that...
Helium was also free flowing – I’m sure I gave everybody a great laugh with that one
and there was also a lot of balloon love going on. It’s amazing how things entertain you when you;ve had a few to drink isn’t it!?
Around 12.45ish, Nicky, Elaine and Lesley headed back to the hotel – Lesley and Elaine with the image of a very butch Geri Halliwell (mentioned above) implanted in their memories forever (I heard you had nightmares about that girls!!), while the rest of us stayed on.
But we weren’t alone for much longer, as soon after, we were joined by WALLLLY!!
Well, what can we say – he took a liking to Chilly
He was great, but he somehow managed to lose his lovely hat. In other words, Chilly stole it. We think it might be going on a holiday somewhere soon
Now, by this point I had consumed a rather large volume of the old jolly juice, so if I’ve forgotten anything girls - in particular about our good friend Wally - then just throw it in here.
What I do remember though is that we all decided to sport the famous Wally hat:
Claire L
Nat
Me
Joh
Chilly
Theresa
Before we knew it, it was 2am and we decided to head off. Cheesy chips were on the cards to end the night for Joh – the sign of a good night in my opinion
Only in Southampton had we seen some really strange take-aways, as only in Southampton do you enter these places through the back door, and through all the bins. But when you’ve had a drink, who cares?!
Unfortunately, Joh had to wolf them down – the cabs in Southampton were classy, and they weren’t allowed to be taken into the taxi. A burnt throat soon followed. Hope that’s now better Joh!!
Before we knew it, we were back at the hotel and everyone headed off to bed. It really was a great night, and was definitely felt the morning after!
Thanks again Mandy for organising a fab weekend
ETA: thanks to Claire L for the reflex photos
