EEK!!! It never occurred to me (naive, I know) that I'd have to pre-order tapas blindly.

Plus, I'm feeling dubious that they do cocktails!!!!

I would guess they don't do cocktails.

They have a full bar, so it's inconceivable that they don't do cocktails. A quick phone call will put it beyond doubt, though.

Pre-ordering tapas?

Obviously, I will be fairly easy as I don't 'do' tapas and so will be ordering the plain chicken - as will Nat I believe. I was going to leave it until the decision had been made but, as you say it is looking like La Regata will be the winner, so I wanted to ask if, when you book the table, you could check whether we could just pre-order main course and decide on the night about starters and desserts as I really don't want to have to decide on all two/three courses irght now - plus, it says there is a specials board for desserts which, presumably, won't be available until that night

Sharing tapas works best but you can just order 3 things for yourself and then on the night share if people want to. Or all the people who want tapas could get together before hand to decide what to have.

Rightio, I have been in touch with La Regata and :-

- they can make a plain chicken dish

- yes we do need to pre-order Tapas and other mains (you can also pre-order starters and desserts if you wish, but they mainly need to know about the mains)

- no they don't do cocktails, but they do have many wines and Sangria too (I guess we will have to pop to TGI's for pre-dinner cocktails)

- we need to collect and send off a £5 per person deposit each (I will PM you with my details later today)

So, the table has been provisionally booked for 20 people at 7.30pm for Saturday 14th August

As for the Tapas, Jules and I are planning on choosing from this menu, we are going to choose a couple of items each and share. If anyone else would like to join us, just choose a couple of items and let me know when you have received my PM later


**BTW, if the lack of cocktails or having to pre-order the Tapas is a problem for the majority, then please let us know and we can always eat elsewhere, I just need to know so that I can cancel the table**
