**DIS Girly Weekend 2010** ~ IT'S OVER :(

I've just looked on Google maps & Frankie & Benny's is pretty much the same distance as TGI's (which I assume is within walking distance of the hotel) so if people would prefer F&B's, is there a reason not to eat there before getting taxi's to Reflex?

Does that even make sense. :lmao:

Yep they're both walking distance from the hotel :)

My brain hurts! :lmao:

So am I right in thinking on the Friday we are eating at TGI's then walking to Flares? - or taxi's?

LOL, mine hurts too ::yes::

That's right, we can either walk or take taxis, it depends on how sozzled everyone is :rotfl::rotfl:

Maybe that's the answer then.....go to F&B's on Saturday (obviously if thats what everyone prefers) then those that want to go to Reflex can get taxi's & those that don't can stay nearer the hotel in a quieter bar?

Right I must go to bed as i've got to get up at 4.30am! :scared1: Catch up tomorrow. x

Nooooooo

im sorry but i cant stress enough how much i dont want to eat at F&b's on the saturday night....i eat there all the time and its just the same as eating at TGI's

it would be such a shame to go to a different city and not eat somewhere that we dont go to every week

im hoping im not alone with this one

I agree, it would be lovely to try somewhere different, but before everyone quotes this, please think where we can eat for those that are a little more fussy

I think we really need to decide this week where we want to go, as we may need to collect and send off deposits

Oh sorry, I didn't realise.

Having never been to Frankie & Benny's I didn't realise it was the same as TGI's.

Sorry, I hope I haven't upset everyone by being fussy. :guilty: I will eat anywhere Mandy.

Why have we discarded Coco Rio? I was under the impression that even us fussy eaters (and yes, I am one of those, too) were OK with this as long as we stick to the a la carte menu.

No hun, no-one is upset, I just want everyone to be happy where we eat, and not have to just 'make do' with the choice of restaurant

We haven't discarded Coco Rio, we just need everyone to look at the menus and give their preferences too ::yes::

I think it's going to be hard to cater for everyone as it's such a large group, and if we can't find any other restaurants, we will just have to go with the majority :)

Hi everyone. Just catching up.

I am happy to eat anywhere. Sorry, that sounds like I can't make a decision to save my life, but honestly I would like pretty much anything on any menu!

I used to be a bit fussier when I was younger though, so I do understand those who don't like everything.

Coco Rio seems like a good choice, but I am completely happy to go with the majority.

I'm OK with anywhere ~ I'm 99.999999999% sure I can find something on any menu that I'll enjoy. :goodvibes

F&B's would have been my first choice as I love going there but I can understand why you don't want to go there if you're going to TGI's on Friday.

Would it be helpful to do a poll then it will become clear what the majority choice is?

Don't be daft - you haven't upset anyone...

IMO it would be nicer to eat at a non-chain/different restaurant IYKWIM but I'm thinking there are so many of us, they might be the only ones who can cater for such a large party... Anyway, whatever is decided, I'm relatively easy - I can usually find something on a menu that works... :goodvibes

OK, my opinion FWIW. I am with Nat and Karen in that I really would rather not eat both nights at places where we can eat at home all the time. If the plan is to go to Reflex on the Saturday night, it makes sense to eat close to Reflex rather than get a taxi to one place to eat and then have to get a taxi to Reflex/back to the hotel/elsewhere from where we've eaten.

I think we've 99.999999% decided we are eatig at TGIs on the Friday night. I know, from discussions I've had with Deb (and I suspect she has more important things to worry about right now than the girly weekend) that she wuld prefer not to go to F&Bs on the Saturday as well. And I'm fairly sure Tam feels the same.

To save any hassle, I'm quite happy to PM people and ask if they're happy with Coco Rio (or any other suggestions) so we can get a decision made once and for all.

If the majority who have posted so far are happy with Coco Rio, how about we ask if there's anyone who DOESN'T want to eat there and take it from there :confused3

Sorry if the fussy ones (myself included - OK, myself mainly) are making it harder :guilty:

wow lots to catch up on. :cool1:

ok, im happy to eat anywhere.
Im pleased we're eating at TGI's 1 night. :thumbsup2
I think a poll may be handy but theres no point in going with the majority if a few people cant eat there. Im sure those that can eat anywhere, would be able to find something from any menu. :goodvibes

Im sure we'll all have a fab time and none of us will starve :rotfl:

I have been having a browse and it certainly looks like Southampton has a great choice of restaurants - here are just a few depending on what sort of food people fancy

http://www.laregata.co.uk/ - spanish with tapas

http://www.cantinarestaurants.com/ - mexican

http://www.theoxfordbrasserie.co.uk/ - nominated for Gordon Ramsay's best local restaurant

"I love eating at cantina!! The staff are so friendly! I have been many .

Rightio, I've been a busy bee and rang round a few of the restaurants to see what's available

Joe Daflo's (on the way to Reflex), table available 7.30pm, need a £50 deposit and we'd need to pre-order

La Regata (not too far from hotel, would still need a taxi & not near Reflex), tables available, £5 per person deposit, need to pre-order

Oxford Brasserie (would need a taxi, not near Reflex) , tables available, £10 per person deposit, need to pre-order

Coco Rio (near Reflex), would have to eat at 6pm (as they have a group of 32 already confirmed), £10 per person deposit, need to pre-order

La Cantina (near Reflex), table available at 7pm, no deposit, need to pre-order

I hope that helps

That's great, Mandy - thanks for that!!! :thumbsup2 Sounds like we will get to eat somewhere a bit different!!!

FWIW, I'm happy with them all - tho' 6pm seems a bit early to eat pre-night out but maybe that's just me... ;)

Sorry didn't catch up with this yesterday.

Well done Mandy for getting the info. from the restaurants. Personally I agree with Karen 6pm does seem very early to eat - we would need to be getting ready really early. Also I would definitely prefer to eat at any of the restaurants Mandy has investigated instead of F&Bs - to me this weekend is all about the meeting up with friends old and news and enjoying some yummy food somewhere a bit different from the norm. I also don't mind paying for a taxi to eat somewhere not near where the majority are ending up that evening, if it broadens our choices.

How do we proceed from here - is a poll the only way to go?

Thanks for all your sterling work Mandy - looking forward to sampling a cocktail or two in TGIs

Tammy

I think I rang a good variety of restaurants, so I think a poll would be a good idea now. Now don't laugh, but I've never posted one before, so could someone post one for me ? :rotfl2::rotfl2: Thanks :)
