**DIS Girly Weekend 2010** ~ IT'S OVER :(

Would like to say yes i'm coming but to be honest i don't think i fit in with anyone, i don't drink & hate clothes shopping , so the thought of being left out & lonely makes me think i might as well stay at home and be that there in my own four walls instead of somewhere strange.
Aww Jill!!! I can guarantee you won't feel left out!!! There's lots of us going and we all like to do different things, I promise...

I'll definitely come up for the shopping ( on the train of course, wouldn't want to be stopped for drunk driving:goodvibes ).
May even come up for the weekend. Have got as far as looking at the hotel but all twin rooms have gone.
Know if I come up early Saturday and enjoy myself, I won't want to go home :rotfl2:
I do hope you decide to join us... ::yes::

I know what you mean and im similar, not really into shopping these days or drinking. Im sure everyone would make you feel welcome, sounds like you want to go.

Im the same as you very very shy, since putting on weight ive lost my confidence. Im sure youll have a laugh.:thumbsup2

As for me will have a think about it and let you know, bit broke at the moment so cant book hotel yet anyway.
will see what Matt says about looking after my little troublemaker for the weekend.
sounds like its going to be fun. :goodvibes
Nicky, I just want to 100% agree with Claire's reply as she's put it perfectly... :goodvibes It would be lovely if you could join us.. :)

Im getting more tempted as the day goes on, checked out the route already. plus you can book the hotel via Quidco (via expedia)
will def ask Matt later if he's ok with it, can book hotel early this weekend. :cutie:
Is everyone ready because I feel a Mrs. Doyle moment coming on.........

Nah, course not!! ;) I though about wheeling her out yesterday but held back. Glad I did, Nicky deserved the full treatment... :lmao: :rotfl: :lmao:

Be brave Nicky. ;) Everyone will take care of one another so no one will be left alone.

I am sure if your DH is anything like mine he will be looking forward to a peaceful weekend. :lmao:

i think i'll be the one getting the quiet weekend my 2 are so noisy together. :rotfl:

I agree with Claire, I'm quite reluctant to meet new people sometimes, I think not only is it my appearance (I've put on quite a bit of weight since having children) but I lost quite a lot of confidence when I stopped working, my interaction with adults is quite limited on a daily basis and sometimes you get out of the groove of being a person again on your own right and I certainly don't want to talk about my kids all the time....
I was very nervous beore meeting Karen (custardtart) for a coffee sometime ago but within ten minutes we were chatting away and nothing could stop us, and that was one to one!
I'm sure you'd be fine in no time if you came along Nicky ::yes::
 thanks hun, i know exactly how you feel.
I gave up work as i couldnt work and care for my son, it was too tiring.
I hoped to return as he was settled in his school but his school are a nightmare and are always calling up or sending him home. I do miss the human interaction :goodvibes

With so many people coming we might split into smaller groups for part of the time anyway and that way everyone can do something that they want to.

I agree. It's unlikely that we would all want to do the same thing so it would make sense to split up and then meet up for lunch/dinner etc.

To those who feel they are too shy/quiet to come - honestly, I am like this myself but I always enjoy the girly weekend. I always think it's ok to be a bit quiet - imagine what it would be like if we were all noisy and outgoing -we would all be talking at once and there'd be no-one left to be listen!

And to those who don't drink -you don't have to. I rarely drink myself, and just try a cocktail or two (sometimes a non-alcoholic one) and then go onto diet cokes!

To all those who are hesitating, do try and join us. We will make you very welcome, I promise!

That was a very long post for me!

To those nervous or new to dis meets, please don't be. For a start we all have something in common and I can honestly say that within minutes of meeting anyone from the dis I have felt at ease and been chatting away like i have known them for years. Between facebook and here I feel like i know some of them better than my other friends;)
As Claire said (the other one..no not that one..that Claire:rotfl:) as there is so many of us no doubt we will end up splitting up into groups. i am not a big shopper at all, clothes anyway, and i wont have a lot of spare money to be raiding the stores. I will be on a budget sadly. I also dont do well with big groups of people and get terrible nerves BUT I know that if i dont go I will be missing out on a such a giggle.
so please do come, even if its for 1 night instead of 2, you really will be glad you did. and like me after my first meet, wonder what i was so scared of. Everyone will be so welcoming and while some of them spend more time together and know each other you will not be left out in the cold at all. You couldnt hope to meet a sweeter friendlier bunch of girls.

All the more reason to come then. ;)

I am sure we will especially when the Primark crowd start getting withdrawl symptoms. ;)

:wizard: Ooh, I hope he can

::yes::

As Claire said (the other one..no not that one..that Claire:rotfl:)

:lmao::lmao:

I just wanted to add my encouragement to those who are still having doubts. As everyone else has said, we are all different personalities and, although some of us know each other better than others, I don't think anyone would end up feeling left out.

Obviously, I am quite shy and retiring as you all know....

Seriously, though, the more the merrier and I can certainly tell you that there are already two distinct smaller groups - the Primarkers and the non-Primarkers :thumbsup2 And anyone who doesn't 'do' shopping is perfectly fine by me - I won't have any money to spend anyway.

As for those who are worried about their weight, I say come! As the only 'non skinny minnie' usually on these weekends, I welcome the addition of anyone else who isn't a size 8/10 :thumbsup2

Oh, and Claire - not you Claire, YOU Claire (That means you, Pinky ;)) - what's all this rubbish about how you won't be shopping :confused3 I nearly spat my drink out when I read that - thought I was getting my Claires all confused :rotfl:

:lmao: yes and i just did LOL at your shy and retiring comment, maybe before you met me mate ???

Good spot Joh......although I only said I won't be clothes shopping, to me that doesn't include handbags, make up, sunglasses, Pandora charms, Disney stuff & anything else that takes my fancy. ;)

And what's more, would be nice to get some new blood on the girly weekends if for no other reason than I'm sick of seeing the same people in all my photos ;)

Great news CLaire - at least one new face for my photos this year (discounting t'other Claire since she is apparently camera shy ;))
