Elaine ( Ware Bears) and I were thinking we might stay one night otherwise when everyone gets glammed up for the evening, we'd still be in our day clothes carrying our shopping Plus if there's no sit down lunch, we might not get to meet everyone.
Of course the hotel has no rooms now. I even phoned up to double check.

So it's a case of checking for cancellations everyday or booking in next door in the Ibis. Phoned them too as all the rooms online are doubles and as I've only met Elaine once ( and again next week), think we'd like a bed each

Watch this space, we could be there for an overnight stay

Will try and sort it out when we meet up on Thursday.

There is also the Etap hotel on the same site - the 3 hotels are all next to each other. The Etap is usually very cheap and rooms sleep 3 although its a double bed and bunk over the double. Worth trying though as it may work out just as cheap to get a room each

Thanks for that. I did have a quick look but after meeting Elaine on Thursday, we've decided to see if any cancellations come up at the Novotel. If not, we'll still go up for the day and the meal unless everyone's rushing off to the nightclub.

Wish I saw this thread sooner - this is the first time I've checked the UK boards in a loooooooooooooong time! I've been away from the DIS for a while, so this weekend sounds fab!

I'm a little shy though lol, and I've noticed from the above couple of posts that there are no rooms available either. I've never met a fellow DISer before! (sorry that sounds sad haha...)

It's a shame, but definitely next year

Me too until this thread started and as Ware Bears ( Elaine) is also in Bournemouth , we've decided to catch the train to Southampton together. We've also met up twice in the last couple of months even though my DS 14 keeps teasing me about meeting strange people off the internet ( sorry Elaine). If the Novotel has a cancellation, can you imagine his face if I tell him we'll be sharing a room together

Just checked the megabus site to see if these dates were available to book yet and the fare is an amazing £14.50 return !!!

theres a couple of us with a spare sofa bed in the room
(All rooms have a double and a sofa bed)
