I still need to go out & put stuff back up. DH had his early class today...hope he feels like helping when he comes in around 7:00. Probably won't tho. We're just having leftover bean soup & cornbread for dinner....

DH's birthday is next Tues. so I went out yesterday & got him a bunch of cigars. (I re-stock him about twice a year). I wanted to get him something else too so I went to Kohl's today. He needs a new belt but I didn't like their sale on them (buy 1 get 1 half price). I only wanted ONE belt. Also, not many in his size. OK, so found a nice sweater & a mock turtleneck instead. Picked up a new set of long underwear for myself too while I was there. AND...sign in the foyer on my way into the store said they're hiring for "seasonal help" so I picked up an application! I NEVER wanted to work retail...but...perhaps I could (should) apply for PT?!? Uggg....just THINKING about working on "Black Friday" makes me shiver! But it could not be worse than the time I was working PT as a hostess at a nice restaurant on NYE, right?!?! They WAY overbooked the place and the kitchen got SLAMMED. It was a total nightmare! I wanted to crawl under that hostess stand let me tell ya. I never saw so many angry people. Anyway, I figured I could fill it out at home & drop it back off sometime next week. This plan is a little bit like the bright idea I had of driving the school bus...I dunno girls.

THEN, I went to the warehouse grocery store with my BEEG shopping list - I was there like 1 1/2 hours I think (but I was WARM)!! I honestly don't know how much I might be able to save by going over there. I think MOST items are about 10-20 cents cheaper than my reg. store. The biggest savings there is on beer & wine. It is the ONLY grocery store in our county that can sell it. DH's 30 pack cube of Miller Lite is $2-3 cheaper than where he normally buys it. Anyway, lately I have been getting by with spending only about $65 / week at the store but today I nearly fell over. I NEVER fill the cart like this. But in addition to a little "real food" for us with tomorrow evening's Halloween afterparty and then the annual football party at our friends on Sat. night....I got like 3 Lbs of hamburger + lots of cans of tomatoes & sauce & kidney beans to make chili for Sat....Then for tomorrow I got like 4 packages of 'Lil Smokies for the BBQ'd weiners....then a variety of cheese cubes, fruit & veggies to make a tray...lots of chips...cookies...DH's beer for home + a case of Amstel for his Skins game tailgating (Mon. nite game this week) and it was $244 !!! WHOA! That is like almost all of a whole week of Unemployment! Holy Crap! Scary! I could not find a couple of things so I will still have to run over to my reg. store tomorrow...but I need some ice anyway...But holy smokes. I can't believe how much more I spent. Me thinks I better enjoy myself the next couple of nights!

Well if you are going on a DL trip this weekend, be sure to fill us in on the decorations in the Haunted Mansion. Decorations at MK in WDW were very cool so I assume similar digs at DL. Hopefully we get some pics posted soon for all to see. I think that Ophie took 900 or so.

RJ - Ophie and I called you earlier to say hi and left you a VM. We were calling from the Sync system in the new car. The Ford Edge was turned in today and replaced with a Ford Expedition. You know, because Ophie needed a tank to drive.

Mornin' ya'll....

Workin' on my beeg 'ole "to do" list for today... DH has had to park in the driveway the past few nites since we had to hastily bring some of the halloween decorations into the garage 'cuz of the wind this week. Not enough room for them AND his car! SO-O he goes out to leave this morning and discovered that he forgot to lock it last nite (he's so absent minded). ANYWAY, someone rummaged thru it. Unbelievable that we gots people rummaging around out there at nite. He said he didn't think anything was missing tho so I don't know what they were looking for. They went thru his glovebox & such - he may find something missing later. But GEEZE LOUISE.

Well, guess I'll read thru some ads then go get with my list...do my inside stuff this morning and then move outside later once it warms up a little (only 34 right now...too cold to futz with putting the decorations back up yet)!

Hola!
we aren't MIA. Babs has been off of school the last two weeks. It's been rough trying to keep a 10 year-old busy when a lot of her friends are on cruises or in Hawaii. (<gag>) I guess the economy isn't too bad for a few families around here.

I noticed that my cell phone hasn't been ringing nor have I been getting text messages.... hm... I managed to send one message while at Disneyland (and got some rude responses, thankyouverymuch) Come to find out that some rocket scientist moved the cell towers for some road construction! thanks for the warning guys! Someone finally had mercy on me and told me how to reprogram my phone to deal with the new "cell arrangement" (it's *228 for all Verizon users, BTW). turns out my phone has been mostly off line for almost 3 weeks! Now to try and find out who has called - don't want peoples thinking I'm blowing them off.

Also been busy with cousin's wedding last Saturday evening. Lot's of relatives but none stayed with me It was... interesting... the rather large bride wore a blood red dress, the cake topper was from Nightmare Before christmas (or is it Halloween?) and the "minister" was a friend of bride and groom's who got his "certification" on line 3 days before the ceremony. Yeah, it was veddy interesting! There was a catered Mexican dinner and open bar - so many people had gooooooooood times. Not me though. I do not drink and drive. Not really anxious to see the inside of a jail cell.

Tonight Dougie is working at the football game and my mom and step-dad are coming down to T or T with Babs and I (no, I don't dress). Our neighborhood has kid stops for candy and grown-up stops to refill cups Now I just have to convince Babs to actually GO T or T'ing. With her "BFF" in the Grand Canyon she doesn't want to go. Might be a short night.

I got 8 boxes of the full size candy bars from Target. We get A LOT of kids...6 of the boxes have 25 candy bars and 2 have 22...so I am armed with 194 of the suckers! Everything from Snickers, 3 Musketeers, Twix & Milky Ways to all varieties of M & M's, Starbursts (my personal fav) and 3 varieties of Skittles to Hershey's, Kit Kat's and Reese's!! I used to make individual treat bags but once I started running out at 150 of them I decided this was just easier.

Well, the grapes & strawberries are cleaned...the celery sticks cut...beer bread made, spinach dip and spicy cucumber dip is chilling...chicken wing dip is ready to go in the oven...candy's in the cauldron...bring 'em on!

Leetle pirates are good here. Halloween party at school at 1 pm - Did the parade at 8:30 - Leetle one quite enjoyed that. No pictures however as DH did not change the camera battery as asked.

Anyone wanna go house hunting for me? It's fun but agonizing all at the same time. Yep, add that to the holiday schedule. I think I will wait for awhile. Kinda busy right now.

Looks like our last soccer games will be rained out. Kinda a bummer way to end the season. Still get a pizza party though so theres that.

Well, it's done. Over. Time to clean up the mess. Shhhh...I cheated and stashed 12 candy bars for myself us (a few Snickers, Starbursts, Twix and M & M's). So that left 182 of these big candy bars...we ran out by sometime between 8:30-9:00!!

Well, it's supposed to be really nice today...upper 60's one more time...so I gotta work outside some more...DS has swimming at 4:00 but he's complaining about a bit of a sore throat. Then our friends football party starts at 6:30...we'll probably go between 6:30 & 7:00. Gotta make that chili this afternoon too...might do that before swimming and just go ahead & put it in the crockpot & let it stay warm in there for a couple of hours. We'll see...
