DIS-functional Wonder Peeps Part III revisited

I see TarzanMan!!

:woohoo:  :yay:

Lunch was good - we ate at Bobby Salazar's. No goat though. I think next time I will leave Linden home.:scared:

Then we drove around and looked at a few model homes and met one very unintelligent real estate saleswoman.:scared: Claimed to be a Kingsburg native!:rotfl:  :confused3

So I got that bug out of my system and I hope Gallo puts a relo package in Stymies offer with an honest to goodness relo company so I don't have to drive around no mo. But it is fun looking at houses dontchathink??

By easy transportation I meant walking and not having to wait for a bus. ;)

:rotfl2: THAT's where I went wrong! That is the part I am trying to AVOID!!:lmao: I guess I don't consider walking to be "transportation"!:rotfl: OH MY Goodness!;)

TZM - agree that if you have all that cash, especially for the purchase of a large contract, like maybe 300 + points...you can definitely save a bunch of dough to go re-sale...and if you're in no hurry to actually GO to WDW!!:goodvibes We used our home equity line 'cuz we figured we could deduct the interest...but if we ever DO get to do an add-on I would like to put down more cash.... Oh well.... DS saw me lookin' at BLT on the DVC website....I think HE thinks the units actually DO some of the slick stuff they have on the virtual tour...so he has already asked if we can stay there the next time we go...:rotfl2: I said he needs to tell daddy we need more points!:rotfl: But in reality if it opens Sept. 1, '09 it won't be OPEN the next time we go... I AM interested in checking out the THV's tho....

It would be cool if the room actually does that stuff it shows on the virtual tour. The point chart does kind of scare me a bit though. Its a good thing that I am okay with the other resorts I guess. Because I will keep staying at those.

Ophie and I have a trip to VWL in October, a trip to SSR in December and a trip to HHI in December as well. So we are going to be doing the rounds to check out how well Disney is doing at upkeep. ;)

Gert, Would you really be moving to Teapot Town, the home of Three Kings?

And this is why my head starts spinning and I give it up. ;)

Hey TZM, when are you guys going in Dec? DH and I will be there 12/11-15. :cool1:

SWEET!!:thumbsup2 We just LOVED VWL...have yet to stay at SSR (not in love with that decor but know we should stay there at least once since that's where we bought) and HHI would be awesome if one could get in over the summer (we like the beach)....how far of a drive is that for ya'll? I think we probably will want to try a stay at BLT...but we could never part with the points for a MK view or for a high season. I don't particularly like the layout of the studio...it looked cramped...and I esp. don't like the bathroom sink being in the kitchen - I thought that was QUITE weird. But it might be good to try for like a quickie MLK weekend trip or something or just Sun-Thurs trip....perhaps NEXT year (2010) we can try for it.:confused3 You guys are fortunate that you can go so often and not have to FLY!:goodvibes

I don't know Bobby!:confused3 Sounds a bit nicer than the goat place!

Gert - Love looking at model homes...that is fun... I thought of you the other day...passed by a log house model - you were looking at those once upon a time, right? I think they LOOK cool...but I have heard that bees like them a lot (lots of nests and I think there's some type of bee that like bores into them or something).:scared: But I don't have anything to support that thought...I just remember knowing somebody once who lived in an OLD civil war era log house....and she had problems with them.

Friday funny:

come on admit it....we've all seen or heard people in the parks askin' these kinda questions! :rotfl2: :lmao:

/
Bahahaha

Yes I have heard those people.

TZM - no not in "teapot town". Just north of there. We were looking yesterday in Clovis. If you have ever flown into Fresno then the Gallo Winery is maybe 2 blocks south of the aiport. So that general vicinity give or take 20 miles.

Annie - Timber home. Not log home. No likey the log homes. Too rustic for me. The timber frame is....um...think big square posts - that you can see inside the home. Like a beamed ceiling. Kinda.

OK going to coffee and Costco and Target I think.

Chat later.

Timber Home...OK...got it...will have to Google that one!:goodvibes So, how far from where you are now and how far WILL YOU BE from RJ & Beano? Close enough for Stymie to commute on weekends, right?

Got swimming tonight...I hope this weeks practice has fewer kids...or an additional coach. They sent out an email the other day encouraging people to go to the Rockville practices on Tues & Thur nights...but I have a feeling that is further for a lot of people like us who live up-county...so I am afraid it will still be packed.

Straight drive time I can get to Kingsburg in about 1.5 - 2 hours depending on how fast I wanna drive!:)

We will be - well - if we are on the ranch - maybe 45 minutes - if we stay to the East side of Clovis maybe 1/2 hour:confused3

RJ - how long does it take you to get to the FAT/FYI if you come up Clovis Avenue.

Beano - Stymie wants to know if you are up for pumpkin blasting. Any weekend or weeknight evening??

The pumpkin blasting looks like a good time!:thumbsup2 Go for it Beano!! Show 'em how it's done!!

Why is it that I can always smell the chlorine after I take DS to the indoor pools? I guess it gets in my nose hairs? IT'S weird how the smell lingers. Practice was OK enough tonight I guess...only 18 kids showed up - which is still a lot but better than the 24 crammed into the 2 lanes last Friday! We will try to hit the Sunday morning practice next. I am hoping for a small crowd again at that one.

OK...to watch the debate or not...that is the next question!:confused3

I am going to Betsy and Rick's tomorrow. I haven't seen them and Katy since school started the middle of Aug. I am having "Katy withdrawal" and will be leaving next Fri. for SC to visit one of my other daughters. They are supposed to have the wedding pictures from my granddaughters wedding for me.

:rolleyes1 OK, I TRIED to watch the debate...I really did. But DH was on the couch snoring before they were done with the first question!:scared: So guess who wasn't too far behind?! At some point I think I couldn't hear the TV over the snoring...so I crawled down onto the floor with a pillow & got myself all comfy with a cat. Woke up at like 11:30 SO STIFF!!:headache: What did I miss?:confused3 I think I am not voting. I just can't pick my poison on this one!

Anne - have a good trip! Drive safe!

(Oh, did I mention that our mortgage WAS with WAMU?!:rolleyes1 And they escrow our real estate taxes which are usually paid 1/2 on 9/30 and the 2nd 1/2 on 12/30!! So now I gotta watch & see if somebody pays our RE taxes next week! GRRRR. Just somethin' else to worry about until I am sure it's done.) :sad2:

Nite Nite

So, do you really blast the pumpkins?

Sounds like some fun weekends coming up, Anne. Enjoy!

Annie, Im glad practice went better this time. And good luck with the payments. :scared: Good idea to keep an eye on that. ;)

My niece came back from college this weekend and had planned to go to the HS football game last night, but it got rained out so she came and visited us (nice to be second choice, huh? ;) ). But I missd most of the debate. Then toward the end when she left, we went to bed and were listening to it, but I made DH turn it. All that bickering is just like listening to the kids in the neighborhood and I cant stand it. :headache: I'll confess, I don't vote, but I am getting interested in this election. I think its more entertaining than anything. Its like the superbowl...I watch for the ads. ;)

I had another fun morning here. We had a 9:00 game but its supposed to be flooding rains today, Kyle is coming up the coast, etc... I figured the games are definitely canceled, Im not getting up at 6:30. So at 7:00 DH sounded the alarm, its not raining and there was no email yet, so games are on. CRAP! I only had time to do crunches, no jogging before I had to jump in the shower. While in the shower, DH yells in, games are canceled! ARGH!!! They couldnt have told us 20 minutes earlier so I could have run? My leg is finally feeling a bit better and I wanted to start up a little today.

Today I do my most hated job....change the clothes over in the kids closests. :scared: I swear, some day Im going to just break down and not worry about hand me downs, or what still fits, and just throw everything out and buy all new. If only I could hit that lottery! :yay:

Kyle woke us up TWICE last night!! Thunder...lightening...pouring down hard rains...first time was somewhere between 3:30-4:00. Then again around 5:30 or so...pissed me off 'cuz we didn't go to bed until like midnight...and it was our morning to sleep in a little. It was that kind of thunder that makes the window panes rattle...long & low & loud! It is supposed to be in the low 70's but humid...icky feeling...cool but muggy. I need to call DH's aunt & uncle & see if they're still planning to have their pig roast / BBQ this evening - she had said they were expecting like 115 people but it's supposed to rain off & on all day...so I am sure they're NOT HAPPY!!:scared:

We are fortunate enough to have big enough closets that I don't have to "switch" the clothes. 1 side is winter & 1 side is summer... What I DO need to do is purge some old stuff and bag it up for the Salvation Army or Value Village or something...esp. for DS's old stuff....

East Coasters be safe in the wacky weather.

Katie - someone was trying to tell you running hurts and to just stay home!:thumbsup2

I wanted to talk to DH Coach to coach - I don't know what difficulties his team is having but having you post the scores I would say its his defense. Can you tell I am a defensive coach?? How many players does he have on the field? We play 9 +1 so when my "go" team is in I play a 4-2-3 when my more inexperienced players are in I play a 3-3-3. Sometimes we will slide another player up or back depending on how the lines are doing. So if he is playing a 3 man defensive line - and has 1 great defensive player I would try a 3 +1 in the back and run that player as a sweeper. If he does not have that one stand out defensive player try a back line of a straight 4 or a staggered 4 where the wings stay up just a tad if offensive comes down the line or the 2 mids cheat up a bit if an offensive plays strictly in the middle of the field. My thought is you cannot lose if they cannot score. Right!? Some parents don't agree with that stratedgy but hey, that's why I am the coach!!

OK soccer talk with Gert is over.:rotfl2:

We have sunshine and a slight breeze at 9 am - DD is angling for a sleepover tonight. Stymie is playing in a poker tourney. So it's a girls night tonight.

Tomorrow I am scrapbooking. In between lots of laundry.

Anne enjoy your visit with Kate

RJ - Lennar has the one story we like on a 9000 sq ft lot in N. Clovis. Due to be done in January. 345! Gonna have to go look some more some day. Gonna wait to see if I have to use a Gallo appointed relo person or any particular agent. Thanks for going with me BTW! It's always go to see you!

Cheri! Stop playing phone/text tag with me! I got the present you sent! Thank you!

OK I have taken enough space on here for awhile. Have a great Saturday everyone!!

Hola Peeps,

hope everyone is having a good weekend, are weekend started with rain on Friday, carrying into Saturday, I hope someone is enjoying the sun...

Read on Yahoo today that Paul Newman died at the age of 83 after a long bout with cancer. Truly a sad dance, he was a Great actor.

you play a pretty good but complicated strategic game there Gert. I hope you don't try to explain the theory behind it all to the parents. How did you do with Silent Saturday? The only way we could ever get thru those was to have Chris coach instead of the head coach and have me sit on the sidelines chewing on a toosie-roll pop. (I hung up my cleats because my dad wouldn't stop yelling at me so I know how the poor kids feel.)

Dougie was supposed to go to Mexico with our old chruch group but I cancelled. Too nervous about all of the kidnappings and junk going on down there in Tiajuana.

Hope Johnnie has fun riding those coasters at Magic Mountain. We watched part of a Travel Channel special on wild roller coasters. Uh huh, no way you could get me on one of those that you hang from the top, go 0 to 60 in 2 seconds, pull 2 G's and do 4 flips! Those people are nuts! (or maybe I'm just old)
