DIS-functional Wonder Peeps Part III revisited

that is what I was thinking..sleeping with the windows open...BA HAHAHA!

after Hurricanes when we had no power, we were taking showers every few hours just to get the sweat off

Katie - there isn't a breeze, so the house is stagnant without AC even fans dont help!

OH NO!!:scared: DH would have that "man smell"!:rotfl:

Hola Peeps!

Trying to get better, with a million things to do as well. Most of yuckies are gone, but now it's stuck in my chest, so I am having bronchial asthma attacks. Allergens here are pretty bad right now, so it's making it tough to get all better, but definitely doing better than I was.

Trying to keep up on Facebook as well (while doing work--shhhh...don't tell anyone that I do both at the same time.) :)

How's everyone been?

FL peeps--has it started cooling down there yet?

CA peeps--how's the left coast? RJ--it won't be long before Bob is home--we are only about 7 weeks away from Thanksgiving.

Annie, you enjoying the cool weather in MD? It's been so nice here.

Katie, I found some old friends from HS on Facebook too--it's great.

So, anyone want to help me get a Fall Festival pulled together for school?
Nothing is coming together as it should, and I'm getting worried that it's not going to be that great. It's next Saturday, so I'm running out of time!

Ok, Ive been in Florida in July and August quite a few times and I dont remember it being that hot. Or maybe I just like it. ;) But ok, maybe for those couple of real hot months I would need AC but the majority of the time I don't see it. Usually when Im there in December I am putting the heat on in my room.

I thought I posted this earlier, but I don't see it. Maybe I didnt hit send???

GMTA! That has been my "If I ever have a costume party to go to" costume. That would be so easy for me to do...pin & lanyards, park map, fanny pack, etc...I might even buy crocs! BUT, I think that would be dorky with this group. Yes, Im dorky but dont want to show it.

Ok, the party of strangers explanation...this could get long. Theres this guy, John, whose DD goes to school with Colt. He is one of those guys that should be a politician in town...knows everyone, always talks to you like your best buddies, etc... He will talk your ear off if you happen to say hi hows it going when you see him at an event. But anyway, a few years ago when Colt went to his house for a party, DH was talking to him and asked if he knew my parents becuase they live a few houses down from them. Turns out he does, because he does this big Halloween Party every year at the Sons of Italy and my Dad is the treasurer there so he has dealt with him bringing him checks, etc... So, Peter ran into him last night and he said oh here I have these for you, and gave him tickets. Now these are tickets with a price and everything, its a huge party(250 I think I heard), a lot of people from the city. This is one of those citys where you grow up and never leave...or if you do, you come back (like me). Its a big city but everyone has some connection to someone. So, I'm guessing I am going to know many people here, but I just don't know who or what conenction. Like it could be people I havent seen in a long time so I want to look good but not dorky. Also, I was talking to my Dad this morning about it and he said its a "very adult" party (I remember him telling me a story about it a few year backs...lets just say some costumes have little material, LOL).

Well, if you are talking about Orlando in December than you would be okay. It is a different story down here in south Florida. There is a reason that the oranges are grown north of us. It doesn't get cold enough to make them sweet down here.

We have room at our house. Come and visit in May and than come again in December.

Wouldn't work... the humidity wouldn't let you breathe. And you'd be washing your sheets every day... :laundy:

:scared: Ewww...

OH NO!!:scared: DH would have that "man smell"!:rotfl:

:lmao:

:yay: HI SUEELLEN!!:yay: Glad to hear you are feeling better! Just in time for DCL to release those 2010 dates!! :woohoo: Hope you kick the chest bronchial thing soon!

Florida weather....you can have it! Waaayyy too humid for this peep. Not too bad in December as I recall. July....uh....nope. Probally not gonna catch me there again in July unless there is some smoking WDW deal or some of my favorite peeps get together again for a cruise.  :woohoo:

Woohoo!! I'm going to visit TZM & Ophie!:cool1: You may want to be careful what you offer...I am going to FL in both Dec & May. :rotfl2:

That may be where I'm going wrong...to me Florida is the Orlando area because thats mostly where I go. I forget things are different down south.

Glad you are feeling better (what's your secret? I can't shake this and I'm tired of wheezing like a 90-year old)

How do you find people on Facebook anyway? I don't go there usually unless I get an email saying someone wrote on my wall - or to check up on the Dougster (shhhhhhh)

if a Peep shouts into the Internet, is she still bored?

 Sue Ellen's alive!:dance3: YAY!

Ummm....too cold for me already! I am cold below about 82 degrees!:rolleyes1 Went right past the crop jeans to full length jeans, long sleeves, socks and beeg fuzzy slippers the past few days!:scared: Dug out the flannel throw & hung on my computer chair...yep. I be cold!

Took DS to swimming this afternoon since he skipped Fri. nite. He elected that he'd rather me take him to "the bubble" this afternoon and again tomorrow am rather than DH take him last nite. In fairness, it IS a better practice - the Friday ones are very crowded. There were about 15 kids...4 lanes AND coach Jorge!:yay: He is also there on Sunday mornings. He is good. He should be...he's the owner of this club/team. Anyway, even tho it's expensive I am liking this team. Today they worked on backstroke flip turns! DS NEEDS to learn that! That will knock a lot of time off his backstroke. Then they worked on diving.:rotfl2: Jorge got a hose out and directed it into the pool where he wanted them to aim for...trying to get them up & out rather than this falling into the water pathetic thing most of them do at this age. If they were goofing off he directed the hose directly at them. I like him.:lmao: THEN after practice I took DS to the swimwear store...when we got his first jammers last summer we had to get the smallest size they make (a 22). He has gained about 3 Lbs...and I know that is not HOOGE but his suits were starting to irritate him - they were too tight - like cut off circulation tight:scared: ...plus he needed some different fins. The ones he had were more of an adult type fitness fin with a split - apparently that creates more of a workout. Not that that is a BAD thing...but I figured he should have the same ones the other kids have plus his others had a thick fabric adjustment around the heel - they take a long time to dry out. Anyway, so we moved up to a size 24 on the suits. :rotfl2: These things are like the size of my underwear! They are so small until they pull 'em on & stretch them out. It was funny...the 24's were obviously too big & baggy on him in June and now they were perfect. So we found one on the clearance rack that he liked marked down to $26 - but it was nylon (which doesn't hold up as well with all the chlorine - go figure). Then the kid helping us asked who he swims with and then he said the Tiburones could get another 10% off...But THEN he offered to give us the $26 suit for $20 and he said he could throw in a polyester suit (not on the clearance rack) for $36!:woohoo: These darned things usually start prices at like $44+ So there were deals to be found at the swimwear store! Two new practice suits that FIT and a pair of fins. :cheer2: Yay. :rotfl:

Must learn Facebook.

ROFL! I like the hose idea. But I was also hysterical with what Gabby did to Juanita on Desperate Housewives(finally watched it last night). I'm a sick mother, aren't I?

Annie, I had my nieces and one of my friends telling me forever to get on FB. I resisted and finally gave in about 3 months ago. I signed up and entered some info. If I can do it, it's very easy. Its taken me about this long to really start playing around and having fun. It really is cool. 4 of my "friends" are guys I went to school with Kindergarten-12th grade...how bizarre! Through them I've seen their friends, a few who I havent seen since 8th grade. Its so weird to see these kids I knew are now adults, and have families and careers, etc...LOL! Plus I think I am talking to my niece more now, that she is off living at college, than I did when she lived in the same town. I guess what they do is they will all hang out in a room and have the laptops with them. So they are telling people where they are, to come by, etc... I guess thats college life in 2008. ;)

a Sunday funny:

Hehehe! Funny one!:thumbsup2

So, I have a situation here and was wondering what you guys think. Is it ok for 2 boys (both a few months away from turning 12) to walk under 1/2 mile to a friends house? We are talking strictly residential area, sidewalks the whole way, and only having to cross 1 street. Its not a majorly busy street, but cars do come down it and some of course go faster than they should.

Talk amongst yourselves.

Oh and Annie...another positive about FB...I found out somone I know may be going to this party I have on Haloween. I probably wouldnt have found that out otherwise.

1/2 mi. is not THAT far if they're in pairs. We let DS go down the street to another block WITHIN our development by himself....I don't want him going to the next neighborhood alone tho 'cuz it's on a rural country road with just a paved path - it's the whole rural road thing that freightens me...it's a long way to the next crosswalk.... If he was with someone else I'd probably be OK with it. What I don't like is when they want to go alone...I worry about the whole "no witness" thing... But I would let him go with another kid (I think).:goodvibes

Oh...since I forgot to mention this earlier........

:cheer2: Go Redskins!
