RJ - its gonna be hot hot hot!! I think 107 is forecast for today and tomorrow.

I moved rabbit into the kitchen in a pet carrier and I will hose the dog down when I get back from taking DD friend home.

Shoes? Dresses? Skirts? Um...not there yet just secretly trying not to panic. Gotta handle Leetle Pirate's and DH's birthdays first. Then cruise. And I am gonna do it Johnna style. Obssess for like a year ahead of time and then at the end...wing it!!

Who thinks I can get by with 2 pair of shoes!?

Gert! 2 pair of shoes!? That's not counting flip flops for the pool / beach, right?! I am probably wearing 1 of something and bringing 6 others. Minimum. BUT they will be small flat leetle thangs! I have narrow, skinny feet with no arches...walking in the parks KILL my feet. I switch up a lot & get along best with walking type tennis shoes...but I prefer sandals & if it's rainy I will wear something waterproof. So, I expect to run thru 3 pr. just at WDW by the time I rotate around whatever is hurting! Then comes what I need for dinners on the cruise (3-4 more pr.)

107!! Hope you CA peeps don't melt! Gert - you have a rabbit? (insert bunny smilie here) I had a rabbit when I was a kid. Actually, I had 2. My first one was all white & her name was Lemons ('cuz she ate lemon peels). The next one I got when I was in psychology class in HS & I trained it to jump thru a hoop for class. Conditional training or something like that.

Im just going through my shoes now. Its scary!


1) Slip on little sneakers for the plane ride and easy on off, when just running out of the room for something.

2)Real sneakers for all that walking around Epcot

3) Black dress shoes

4) White sandals

5)Black Sandals

6)Pool flip flops

7)A nicer pair of flip flops

I may try to reduce this list by 1 or 2, but we will see how it goes.

HMMM...

I can see how the shoe count goes up when you are going to WDW also. And are going to Palo or perhaps getting married.

OK maybe 3 pairs. But since I have not shoe shopped yet.... I may just wear the same flip flops for everything!! Wonder if I can pull that off for Palo brunch?

My flip flops are purty. They have sparklie beads and everything!!

Oh crap - you all are making me think I need to go buy more new shoes.

insert whining smilie here...but the Wonder is more casual right? and I don't wanna dress up. I just wanna wear my flip flops. I'm on vacation.

I think you will be fine, Johnna. You can really go either way on the cruise, dressy or casual. I just like to dress up since I never get the chance to do so at home. Thats part of the fun for me.

I've seen every extreme. Did I ever tell you guys what I saw on formal night? The only thing I can hope is this woman's luggage didnt make the ship and she was stuck with 1 outfit. Although that wouldnt explain the sunglasses on her head.

yup! What RJ said! 3-6 pairs of flip flops, 2-3-4 pair of dinner shoes, 1 pr for some fancy schamcy thingy I'm goin' to, 1 pr tennies (never go anywhere w/o sneakers, I don't) = 7-12 pair. Sounds about right.

Whew! And I thought I was bad with 6-7 pair! Can anybody define the diff. between flip flops & sandals?! For me, flip flops have a more casual look, are for workin' in the yard, running errands & goin' to the pool / beach. If they look metallic or patent or suede (like Clarks or something) then they're sandals. Any heel at all automatically make them sandals. Am I thinkin' right on that one?!

Well, I am growin' a new zit on my chin. Hope I can get rid of it in a week!

I have totally blown the whole lean cuisine diet. I am still eatin' too many leftovers (like ummm...pizza) and makin' too many carbs for DS (s'ghetti). Earlier today I was a size 6 in most things. Right now, after dinner...feelin' like a 10. NO portion control tonight. Was pretending that I needed to stretch my stomach out for the cruise! DS has another swim meet tomorrow evening...but there's a 50% chance of storms. So we shall see.

I want to ditch my Palo dress/shoes and wear the Luao Dress for Palo. My Luao dress looks like this but the straps are way skinnier but not speghetti:

Top part is red with the lower dress is black on the bottom 1/3. There are large white, red, & black flowers on the lower 2/3 of the dress. The flowers are huge just like the Kohls picture. The dress is cotton.

The shoes that I was planning to wear are black heeled flipflps with those shiny gems that I wish I can say were diamonds. Will I pass muster? I figure if we get turned away, I just saved myself the $30 & tips. Then I guess I will go to the bar and order my souffle.

Tinksryansmom, let just say our purty flipflops are diamond studded. People just don't know their stones!!

OHH, I forgot. Since I do get cold, I will be wearing a black crothet shawl. Not very formal but makes the dress dressier.

Oh and RJ I was way off on the forecast. Only gonna be 110 here tomorrow and 108 on Thursday. But it should cool off for the weekend. 100 on Friday and only a brisk 98 on Saturday!

At least its a dry heat!

I don't have any of those fancy beaded flip flops. I saw some at DSW tho....should I go back again?! I wore my new Ugg comfy furry ones yesterday. Buzz & Woody were ALL OVER THEM when I left them in the laundry room!! One of them must've been trying to wear them or something 'cuz I had to use the lint brush to get the black cat fur off!

Ophie & Sue Ellen have been quiet on the shoe / flip flop issue...does this mean they bring the mimimum required or they're secret shoe hoarders & bring one whole bag of just shoes?!

May - save space & packing and go for the luau dress at Palo! I think you'll pass just fine!

Ouch, Ronnie Jo! Hope it feels Ok. The good news is your finger will look like my toe. My nail started growing back a while ago, but then it all happened again and fell off. So, I dont have much there now. Will try to paint what I got so its not too hideous. I dont know whats worse, teeny tiney nail or a bandaid hiding it.

So, now that we have shoes settled I have a final count on bathing suits...5! 1 bikini that I will probably only wear the first day before my stomach explodes, 3 tankins, and 1, 1 piece. I think I'm really overpacking.

Annie, to me, a flip flop is what we used to call thongs (before the other thongs came out). You know, the rubbery shoe with the thing between the first 2 toes. But that may vary by region.

Then all I have are flip flops! I think everything I have has that thing between the toes. They're pretty much the only kind of sandals I can keep on my feet 'cuz they're so narrow. But I remember calling them thongs! We always had these rubber ones we used in the showers when we were camping.

I forgot to tell you, in my dream, the food was so salty after the first buffet, my shoes wouldn't fit and I had cankles!!
