Ok guys, I'm hyperventilating!!!:hyper: I'm just realizing how close this trip is now.

My mother just offered to drive us to the airport bus the morning we go. That makes it sound so real! Plus I started thinking about what clothes I will need (how many of what outfits, etc...). Then I realized 4 weeks from tomorrow I go. I looked at the calendar and saw 4 weeks ago (this weekend) was Memorial Day weekend. OMG! That feels like yesterday!!!! So it just hit me and Im in panic mode. Until now it seems like this trip was years away. I need to get the suit cases out of the attic. :hyper: :faint:

So, has it hit anyone else yet? :scared1:

i can't believe how behind I am Katie..my first cruise in 2005 I had a job that consisted mostly of sitting and surfing all day because I wasn't busy..i was on the Dis all day..printed folders worth of info..seemed like the docs would never come...

now..i just printed my contracts and it seems it is coming too fast...i am sure i am going to forget to pack SOMETHING!!

CamColt - that middle picture is hysterical!! Could he looked any more unenthused?? And in the bottom picture that goalie is clearly out of the box! Free kicks for everyone!!:rotfl2: not competitive or anything...

Betsy - you printed what!!?? What can I print!!! Where?? How?? not excited at all...not me...

YAY! Someone else to panic with!:cool1: Give me another week & I'll be packing!! :rolleyes1 I keep most of our luggage in the closet of one of our spare rooms...and some in DH's walk-in closet...so it's all always very handy. First, I have to pack a few things for this weekend. I am getting conflicting forecasts....our local channels do not match each other and none of them match the Weather Channel.:headache: THAT is making it hard to know what to plan / pack etc.

Betsy - no microwave...the swim team is based out of our local county outdoor pool - so it's thru the County Rec Department. There's a concession stand & that's it. I am going to take a LOT of towels and sweats for him to bundle up in inbetween his events and will pump protein bars into him inbetween!:rotfl:

No more pics of us....I want to see the Soccermom family as stars!

Glad I'm not alone, Betsy. Years ago I would have had the suit cases airing out for weeks now, just itching til it was close enough to start packing. I would have had lists made and toiletries packed, etc... I could have given Annie a run for her money. :duck: ;) Since I started working I'm too busy planning other peoples trips to worry about my own then all of a sudden I realize I need to get going.

While obviously I don't NEED to pack yet, the process is going to have to start soon. And what I learned last year is, do not save everything until the day before. You never know what could happen (such as slipping on a wet floor, ending up in the ER, and barely being able to walk that last day when you have so much to do).

So, I just went and did some research on Blizzard Beach. Its our first trip there and Im clueless. If anyone has any good advice I'd appreciate it...http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1860294

That was the day it was about 52 bazillion degrees out. Us parents were dying sitting in the shade. I don't know how these kids played. :faint:

Glad you are panicking too Annie. ;)

Blizzard Beach is our fav. water park (over Typhoon Lagoon). We like to go during the EMH for the early opening...get a primo spot somewhere to drop our stuff and then go, go, go before all the rest of the people get in at 9:00 & clog up the lines! I don't do Summit Plummet so I go lay out awhile while DH & DS do that. I like to be sorta near the base of Summit Plummet - near where the ice berg stuff is and the little short tube slides. That way if I get hot I just hop in & out real quick or take a quick tube ride while I wait around for my guys.:goodvibes

(PS) Since we always park hop I've never actually spent all day & evening in a water park. Last August with the EMH we were done with BB by lunchtime. Then we ate & left & moved on. With Typhoon Lagoon we were done by 10:30! They get really crowded later when it gets hot. If you go later you won't find a spot to put your stuff.......well, maybe 1 lounger to pile everything on. We do not wear water shoes. We wear flip flops & leave 'em with our stuff. MOST people will be barefoot. The concrete gets very hot later on too.

:headache:  GRRRRR!!! Our first swim meet was cancelled due to lightening! :furious: It was a home meet so we had warm-ups from 5-5:30 & the visiting team got the pool from 5:30-6:00. The meet was supposed to start at 6:00. WELL, so just south of us we started seeing lightening at 5:35. Of course the rule is out of the water & off the pool deck for 30 min. after the last thunder or lightening is witnessed. So at first they said 6:05 then 6:15. Then it was 6:35. Then 6:45. Then 7:00. RIGHT AT 7:00 there was more lightening. Darned storms were down in Rockville, but close enough to be dangerous. So once the meet reached an hour late they called it.:worried: You could feel the weather change tho - it got cold & windy & the sun went in...the kids would've been miserable. But to have the first meet called like that was such a bummer!

OK, I am going to the basement to work for awhile. I did not plan dinner for this evening 'cuz we were supposed to be at the meet all night and all of the restaurants are still closed. So it looks like it will just be a snacky kind of night. Maybe some Boy Scout popcorn or some Maui Onion potato chips?! I am going to go get myself a "cocktail" and work on my camping bins. I have been re-organizing them and making new index cards with their contents on them. I have like 3 smaller bins and I keep 2 of them inside a couple of LARGE bins and I wanted to re-distribute the weight 'cuz I could not carry the one large bin. But it's not working out so well. The stuff just doesn't fit right so I guess I have to put the smaller ones back the way I originally had them.:headache:

 Why doesn't anything go back the same way it went in? :confused3 My re-organization efforts are leavingme fairly frsstrated and slightly tipsy,.:rolleyes1

Wait... why're you all talkin' about packing?

Are we goin' somewhere or something?

:rolleyes1

Okay... feeling very alone here...

Are we seriously the only people on the whole big Wonder for a week?

Where are all the other DISers?

D'ya think we scared them all off?

I don't find myself frightening.

Am I frightening?

Bets? Worse than the monkeys? (link for Bets 1 Link for Bets 2)

HA!! you can not trick me!! I saw "flying M...y" in the link!!!

Rick is off today getting the car road ready...going to try to leave work at 3 today so I can go home and pack up...and make samaches..wash laundry..all the good stuff

Annie - I am not organized as you..I will just hang a bunch of clothes by the hooks in the car and call it packed!

Hey Ophie - thanks for the AKV goodies!! I really can't wait now! I just love that place!

Betsy - I am not that organized...I am just ANAL!!:) I am one of those people who start out on a mission to do one thing but then on the way to do that I get detoured with something else that I see that also needs done...then next thing you know I've forgotten what I started out to do...:rotfl: So nothing is ever finished! :rotfl2:

So I haven't had time to watch the news yet but I heard the boil water restrictions were lifted. So I guess now the grocery stores & restaurants can all get back to normal.

Annie -
Are you of those people who start to... oh, look -> a puppy! ????

speaking of which:
oh look--> random smilies :surfweb: :laundy: :p

I believe I would like to be here:beach:, instead I will be taking 60 kids from:teacher: to the popcorn:: (Kung Fu Big Jack Black doncha know) and then to the park for hot dogs :crazy2:. How do I get myself into these things?

If I"m not back on the boards by tomorrow, you'll know I'm in the pokey for ... helping myself to the neck of one of those little ragamuffins.

So I guess now the grocery stores & restaurants can all get back to normal.
