I had a dream last night that I forgot to pack my dresses and brought no shoes! :scared1:

Ok, fess up! Who has started packing? :rolleyes1 Annie??

That was not a dream RJ - that was a NIGHTMARE!!!

Packing....thinking about it but haven't DONE it yet!! I have started a "do not forget" list tho! (I already need to re-do it on a bigger sheet of paper 'cuz it's outgrown my post-it note already!)

BIG water main breaks here (36")...under a water emergency...water restrictions....supposed to boil water...limit flushing:scared1: ETC

i decided to take the suitcases and put them in Nick's room when we get back next weekend.
Nick will be in Atlanta until after we come back from the cruise so I will have a whole room to put all my packing stuff in!! Usually I don't like to use his room because I don't want him to think I use his room as a spare room when he isn't with us...does that make sense??

I am going to start packing tonight for Friday..Got Rick some new clothes from Brooks Brothers this weekend..he is gonna look so handsome!!!

A cookie to celebrate Cam's graduation?!:goodvibes How did it go? I got a little teary eyed last week at DS's...

Watching the news to see what's up with the water situation. All county camps were closed today for lack of water but they just sent an email that they'd be open tomorrow with potable water...DS is in a priv. camp for 3 weeks so they were open. But they did NOT get to do their weekly field trip to the pool. I think DS was looking forward to just being able to go & PLAY at the pool rather than have to PRACTICE. I also hate that this particuar placed actually has very limited field trips so we don't get our money's worth when they have to cancel their trips. Sigh...I boiled water all day.

Update...boil water for 3 days they just said.:headache:

Katie - Nice job on the name game! How was graduation?

Annie - you can used bottled water you know! And you don't have to boil the water that goes into the toilet tank. :duck:

RJ - do not forget to pack shoes. Unless you wear a size 9 and then I got your back.

Betsy - makes perfect sense to me. Where you going on Friday? Is this the wedding for was it a niece?

Not truly packing here. Been throwing stuff I have purchased into a corner of my walk in closet. At the point where I need to lay out outfits and see what else needs to be found. Pirate costumes still up in the air. Snap!! I gotta get on the bathing suit thing....

OK off to price airline tickets for Dads visit in November. Figure we ought to purchase those now.

Oh that stinks, Annie. We had a similar thing about a year ago. It started on a Saturday morning and all the parents at the kids basketball game were stressed because no Dunkin Donuts could sell coffee, LOL! Crisis!!!

And yes, the graduation was very moving. We watched (and got a copy of) a DVD that includes baby pictures and such. Its too sweet. However I made it on there...standing on a chair taking pictures on the cruise we went on a couple weeks ago. I'm one classy broad I tell ya! :rotfl:

Tomorrow they get their year books, Wednesday is the sundae party, then Thursday they are out. :cool1: I think my weekly 5th grade meetings are done!

I debated about going out to buy a couple jugs of water but this is cheaper than running to the store 'cuz you know I wouldn't JUST BUY WATER! I don't want to go to the store until Tues or Wed so I can shop for this weekend too. And no, I am not wasting the boiled water on the toilets...only using for stuff like cooking dinner, re-filling the Brita pitcher, coffee, dishes... I put some in our 2 gal. thermos & in the other 5 gal. jug we use for camping. I just KNEW that jug would come in handy when I bought it!:rotfl: Speaking of camping...watching the weather forecast...the beeg camping trip is Fri, Sat nights...DH says we're NOT putting up a tent in the rain! (Something I actually agree with for once!) Right now they're calling for low-mid 80's and "isolated" thunderstorms all weekend...which around here lately means take cover!:lmao: And I would NOT want to be in a tent in the woods during one of these whoppers we've had lately. Anyway, I am hoping DH can come home early & we can hit the road around 3:00 on Friday.

DS's yearbook committee screwed up ROYALLY...their yearbooks are not IN yet and school was out last week!:furious:

Oh no! Sounds like they needed Anal Annie on that committee. ;)

Theres always something, isnt there? Today we were waiting for everything to start and waiting...and waiting. Finally the principal announced there was a miscommunication and the teachers thought it started at 1:00 not 12:30, LOL! I guess we didnt send them invitations! :confused3

Annie- is this normal stuff for you all? Storms that throw things around, boiling water? Nooooo Thank You.

If you ever visit San Diego you will see everyone carrying bottled water. There is half an aisle at Costco just for water pallets. SD water tastes good too (why does Orlando water taste so bad and smell so funky???)

Bummer on the yearbooks. No signatures for the kiddos. As one of the PTA financial peoples, I have the "pleasure" of with holding yearbooks from kids whose parents have bounced checks to the school. It really stinks to tell a kid he can't have his yearbook. It's not their fault.:(

Storms...yes. Broken water mains...not usually in summer. On the bright side...not so much on the earthquakes & wild fires around here!:goodvibes

Our Costco also has like a whole bottled water aisle & I buy it for some purposes. I keep a case in the garage so I can grab one on the way out & a case at the bar in the basement...and I often buy the little DeerPark 8 oz sport top bottles for DS with the flouride added....but mostly around the house we just drink Brita filtered water from the tap. It's got the flouride and doesn't gunk up the landfills.:) I think the flouridated water has kept me cavity free - all the way up to the ripe old age of just almost 47!:thumbsup2 (Knock wood for sure now since we no longer have dental insurance!!) I certainly did not inherit good teeth. My Dad had dentures at age 21 and my Mom's mouth is FULL of silver...but they also did not have the flouride in their water when they were younger.

yeah, the water bottles going into the land fill are certainly a problem. SD does an excellent job of recycling but I'm sure we are doing our fair share to fill the landfill.

:rotfl2: I remember that!! "Isolated" meant it was headed right for Oxford, PA and we were doomed!:rotfl2:

Yep, same thing happened at our school this year. But I am a bad mommy I don't buy yearbooks. DD got kindergarten and she will get whatever grade happens to be her last one here. Then high school. Good grief, what do they think, we parents are made of money!!??:faint:

We dont usually get them, just since this is the last year at the school, we did one. Our yearbook and DVD were paid from our 5th grade celebration fund, so there was no charge. All our fundraising paid off. :thumbsup2

I never bought yearbooks for son#1 until his 8th grade and senior year because we are one of the poor in the private school.

I had to buy for the 2 little ones because it was part of the fundraising for their school which we fall in the "rich" of the public school. As a parent in the PTA, I was peer pressured to buy. But I don't mind it so much because this school's yearbook really came out nice. My DS10 is on the "popular" side. So he's in a lot of the pictures. But they cram so many pics on a page, I need a magnifying lens!!!

Annie, did you ever get full legible pages of the navigater? I printed from thread site where you asked for a double dip navigater. I must be getting old now. I need highpowered binoculars to read her scanned navs.

Personally, we never had yearbooks until HS - of course that was in WV tho. Having them at DS's ES was news to me. I didn't know what the protocol was....but they were fairly cheap I guess (less than $25 to pre-order) so I bought them most years.

I will be on another boiling water rampage again today I guess. Funny how much we used...coffee...the cat bowl....cooking for dinner & my oatmeal this morning etc. I heard this morning at the pool that there's no water to be found at any of the stores. And they have closed over 1,200 restaurants in the county until this is over!:scared1: I guess it's like being in Mexico. Trying to pretend we're there but so far it's not quite working!:rotfl:

Storms yesterday brought down some Canadian air for the remainder of the week...poor DS...it was only 63 degrees and BREEZY for swim practice this morning. I had goosebumps sitting on the bleachers. The water started to cool off again...so here we go. Good luck keeping him in the water now. And with his first meet tomorrow evening...:headache:

Today I must do my grocery list and run to the store. Almost out of bread and have to pack lunches for DS...

Annie: :wizard: Here's to hoping that your water problems are over soon!
